When it comes to fun and over-the-top charm, few places do Halloween like Prescott. In this episode the Pickle Lady explains how Halloween works in our little town and shares some of the decorations on Prescott’s signature street – which becomes Spook Central during the Halloween season.
Video Transcript hello hello hello hey babes i am so psyched are you she’s also i’m psyched but i’m also you’re the pickle lady i i don’t know it’s nice to be you with the pic lady i know this is why we’re psyched i am diane bro this is randall bro we’re super psyched super excited because we are here out today on mount vernon a couple of days before this is spook central central prescott arizona halloweentown halloweentown prescott is amazing at halloween mainly because you come to this main drag on mount vernon which is filled with lovely lovely lovely um older homes some of the oldest homes uh since prescott was born yeah absolutely gorgeous a lot of them on the historic district um right this ghost is coming again oh my gosh but anyway um so what’s lovely here a great tradition the town has is all of the kids in prescott will collect here on mount vernon the police lock down the street they have it all lit up and they have all kinds of everyone who participates on the street will have great halloween decorations and about two thousand three thousand kids will just walk up and down both sides yeah it’s a lot of kids most of the uh most most of the neighborhoods don’t have enough kids to really do a real trick or treat right uh so they close down this old old-timey street and this is where all the kids come so the demographics are not do not bode well for a lot of little children so we collect them all that’s right and then maybe at the end some of the older people sacrifice them no we don’t i don’t remember children ever being sacrificed that’s a very dark chapter yeah a very dark turn i just made yeah forget i just said that that was for the old days i don’t think they do that anymore they don’t do that anymore they have gotten more current yeah with the time so we no longer sacrifice the young children to turn along you know the older generation’s life that’s a joke that’s totally a gym halloween joke no but because we do have a smaller demographic of kids they do come here it’s so lovely it’s so charming the street is just gorgeous filled with old trees i mean honestly it’s like mayberry it is it is it’s so nice and so a lot of the homes here will have big parties and all their friends will come and they have live music playing and yeah it’s just um something really nice it’s a pretty cool tradition it is and most of the uh the homeowners here go through a lot of trouble to decorate their homes uh for halloween and i’ll intersperse some of the so you’ll be seeing some of the scenes yeah what they do it’s so it’s just incredible it’s really really last night we came and we walked it and we filmed it at nighttime too so today you can see all the beautiful homes in the daytime and see how pretty there they are decorated and then you’ll see some nighttime shows yeah some night time shots too so something to keep in mind if you come here uh have the grandkids come for halloween especially if it’s on the weekend yeah and then you can take your grandkids or just come by yourself you don’t have to be a particular age no age requirement it’s just for anybody who thoroughly loves fall and loves the gorgeous halloween here that mount vernon has to offer it’s from here and you get some candy and sometimes some alcoholic fruits yeah sometimes sometimes those are the cool houses that’s right but anyway it’s a great time and it’s something you should experience it just reminds me of old times small town that’s right absolutely so anyway uh reach us if you need anything or if you want to know where mount vernon is it’s off of germany and uh maybe we’ll see you here but maybe so so if you need to reach me you can call me at 713-302-1964 you’ll see a link there to our prescient relocation center lots of great information about the community things you need to know if you’re thinking about or have already decided to come and join or if you’re interested in listing your home we sell prescott dot com or prescottpickleny.com you’ll see a link there to our seller uh our listing site so whether you’re buying or selling uh you can reach out to us please do that’s what we’re all about absolutely right yeah are you scared a little don’t be scared if i’m mostly scared of you protect you i will protect you all right calm yourself

Video Transcript hello hello hello good afternoon wow good morning whenever you’re watching this yeah that’s true it could be a totally different time of day for you wherever you are got all our halloween decorations outside our house here including the haunted bunny there he is yeah yeah we’re into halloween yeah a little bit it’s our favorite thing yeah we like that we really miss it yes there’s our dog bark there’s our dog park she doesn’t like her when we film no she likes to be part of the action i think i just don’t know but anyway uh so we are here today to talk about something that is actually something we’re taught uh when you become a realtor yep and they drill it in your head time and time and time again and what is that mister bro what is the time time time is that the essence time is of the essence time is money so and money is of the essence so time is of the essence that’s right yes and so actually part of the contract so if you if you put an offer yeah it’s actually you have to agree time is of the essence but even still a lot of times people don’t think it is but it is it is of the essence it’s very important and we kind of want to talk about this because we run across this periodically and it’s always kind of a heartbreaker for us when it does happen we’ve had many many clients and they come in and they either aren’t quite ready like they don’t have their paperwork in place they forgot to get their prequal they forgot to bring their um bank statement that shows they have the cash to pay for this house etc so they come in they’re all excited they see a house they want and sometimes they’re just not decisive yeah now everything’s ready to go but well let us think about it a little bit let me think about it a day or two and what we see happen all the time and it just it kills us is because we know it’s the right house for you and we we can hustle and get that contract out as fast as we can you will not wait for us you won’t wait for us we we are ready willing we’ve done them at eleven o’clock at night yeah we’ve had people call you can we put the offer in now hell yes yeah absolutely we’re going to make it happen for you but here’s the thing if you don’t have the correct paperwork or you don’t have your ducks in a row that’s a delay um if you say well i want to be cautious about this and think about it a day or two suddenly somebody else comes along and puts an offer in uh you can’t time this is not a hard sell we’re not trying to pressure you we’re not trying to create time pressure that that’s not there no what we’re trying to do is to tell you we have seen it time and time again time is of the essence a house can be on the market for months for months it is this is very true this is a very strange phenomenon it’s like some real estate weirdo stuff that goes on a house can sit there for five months all of a sudden you’ll have one person who’s like i think i’m going to put an offer in and then it’s like some pheromone goes out into the universe like vibrations yes yeah and then everybody’s like suddenly i think i want that house too and so then very rarely but occasionally we’ll get into two or three offers coming in at one time it just happened to us and it just happened the house was on the market for five months and uh within the course of a couple of days suddenly everyone wanted that same house and suddenly we had three offers on the table the woman who bought the house ended up paying way above she went over asking to get it not that much we don’t do the california stuff yeah nothing like california nothing like that but still but even still like a day or two earlier she would have walked away less than list and uh you know they just waited a couple of days and a couple of days were enough that uh whatever it is howdy neighbor here there comes our neighbor but yeah so just just enough for the vibrations to get out there and suddenly everyone wants that same house it’s just actually it’s crazy it’s crazy so well part of it is that if there’s a good listing agent a good listing agent will uh um try to do that you know they will call people who’ve expressed interest in the past and say well looks like we’re going to have an offer and then suddenly the that person is two right uh so it’s not all uh woo woo you know spirits or everything there are some mechanics at work here but uh even when the listing agent doesn’t i i gotta say i’m not a real you know creepy pee-pee person but uh i don’t know if it’s because we’re close to sedona i don’t know but we have seen it time again and again when when someone uh shows interest in a house even it’s if it’s all of a sudden it’s like the hot girl on campus and every guy’s trying to throw his cap in and uh and win the house so here’s our advice to you sit forward there you go i’m losing you you’re not losing me i haven’t moved at all okay all right anyway here’s the deal now i have sunshine on my face so now i’m gonna back up there you go all right so here’s the deal if you see a house okay now you’re annoying me yeah i know here’s the deal if you see a house you really like make sure you have all your paperwork your everything’s ready to go we’re going to get that offering quickly don’t sit and talk about it for a day or two because sometimes that’s all it takes for somebody else to grab your house or if you if you’re gonna need to do that then we need to keep our cards really close to the vest like don’t go back for a second viewing you know until you’ve had time to think about it because when you go back for a second viewing the lister knows that you’re interested suddenly the vibrations are out that’s right the other thing to keep in mind in mind too is as soon as you go under agreement guess what happens inspection you got 10 days you got 10 days to think about it some more and all of that so if you can get it under contract and do your head scratching during the inspection period uh then you you’re not at risk for having other offers come in and for the most part if during the inspection period you change your mind or you know you find something you don’t like or whatever that’s what the inspection period is for and you will walk and you will take your earnest money so so use that nothing hurts our heart more than when we see somebody who’s absolutely in love with a house and it’s happened to us about four or five times yeah and they lose out the four fights in the last either because they just weren’t quite ready they didn’t have their paperwork ready they they or they waited too long let me think about it a couple of days those couple of days can be you not getting the house of your dreams or paying a lot more than you otherwise won’t absolutely so keep that in mind when you’re ready be committed be don’t overthink sometimes you can overthink overthink overthink you need to trust us as your agents if we tell you um this house will definitely appraise don’t worry you’re not overpaying or you’re under trust us we know the market here and we are here to guide you we’re not going to steer you wrong use your inspection period yes use it to your advantage absolutely so keep that in mind be ready we’re ready for you we’ll get the offering as fast as we can and get you on to the next chapter here in prescott that’s what we’re here for that’s what we’re here for and we promise you you will appraise we promise you it will go smoothly yeah you just have to uh it doesn’t appraise guess what you walk that’s that’s very true appraisal contingency is if you’re afraid that it won’t appraise well if it doesn’t appraise you’ll be able to take your earnest money and leave that’s exactly right that’s a very good point that is a very good point too so anyway just some little tidbits for you because we want to make everybody happy we want to close the deal we want to start you on the next chapter of living here in prescott Video Transcript which shaken my fellow friendly pickle peeps what happened to hello hello four hello hello hello yeah that’s what gets me going hello hello that’s a little disturbing [Laughter] and very very sad yeah i know all right she’s the preschool pickle lady my name is randall bro we are real estate agents here in prescott arizona and uh we are at the plaza bandstand on the square that’s right underneath this beautiful bandstand yeah you can kind of see up with the yeah there you go it’s really coming at you and right behind us is whiskey row so we thought we’d say a few words about the infamous whiskey row that’s right yes press gets answered to bourbon street well yeah a little bit not quite but uh one block of it anyway one half block right yeah so yeah if you come here we have a lot of friends who like to honky tonk as we call it that’s their favorite thing to do they come down here and uh enjoy all the music that whiskey row has to offer have a couple of drinks dance honky tonk and then head home and sleep it up go home at nine no i’m kidding no actually uh uh whiskey road is open kind of late so uh one of the few places that is openly and there’s not a whole lot around so they can make lots of noise yeah and nobody complains and so this is a good time to kind of come and have some fun some of our favorite places here there’s uh the bistros over there there’s a whole bunch of honky tonk bars down here just a lot of fun and really really good music i mean you would be surprised i mean it’s for people think we’re such a small town we’ve got some really good musicians yeah we do we do they have uh sort of alternative jazz they have traditional plastic rock and country western and the whole thing it’s just a lot of fun a lot of dancing a lot of you know you can kind of let your hair down here absolutely and have a good time so if you’re looking at honky tonk and you love music and you want to have a nice time this is the place to come place to come man safe yeah absolutely safe totally safe yeah totally fun yeah get a bunch of friends have a couple of beers do some line dancing yeah i don’t know i like these i like blind bags yeah it can well especially they have a lot of beers the more drinks i have the better the line dancing i can never remember the routine well i don’t i don’t care if i don’t care i just want to have fun i’m just like oh we turning right i turn left that’s cool that’s cool everybody embraces you accepts you yeah i guess so but anyway just wanted to tell you if you’re big into music and and you think is that small town is that going to have some culture some things for me to do yes yeah well amazing amazing music here and you’ve been known from time to time you head out that’s right caused a little trouble possibly trouble i wouldn’t i wouldn’t say that cause a little trouble fall asleep at the table and they get mad at me that’s more like it yeah but anyway i hope that you come and visit prescott and enjoy all the fun that uh whiskey row has yeah absolutely waiting for you fun is just waiting for you absolutely all right have a good evening and we hope to see you here in prescott yeah except you got to tell them where to find oh yes i forgot that’s very important you can reach me at 713 3 or mr oddly enough you can find the preschool pickle lady at prescopiclady.com relocation center that’s pretty cool stuff check it out get some good information yeah we’d love to meet you come on bye yeah take care have a good night bye

working this is your uh we’re your preschool pickled peeps yeah this is the preschool lady with me here that’s right along with our other our other pickled lady part of our pickle lady brigade janice erickson that’s right not drinking this uh for this episode it’s too early in the morning it’s too early in the morning yeah too early in the morning so we thought what a beautiful day let’s go down to the square so here we are here we are uh we’re actually kind of by the platform i wanted you to see they come here sometimes to play summer pops so this whole square the symphony will come and play and everybody brings their lawn chairs yeah yeah evidently we’re sitting on kind of like like a stage or something here i don’t know there’s some statues behind us and the statue back there oh cowboy got a good shot of that horse’s butt it’s awesome awesome bud anyway so it’s just one of the many little fun time summer activities they have here a lot of people like to come to the square and see that yeah but we’re really here to talk to you about kind of early to bed early it’s bad early to rise right so a little known fact about randall and i we used to be major major night owls night owls yeah we’re both from new orleans i used to pick when we were dating i used to pick her up at like 9 30. yeah you know that would be out till three in the morning not anymore not anymore and i think it has something to do you’ll find a lot of people here it’s like let’s meet for dinner sounds great let’s go what time are we going i’ll meet you at 4 30 or 5. centers early at first i was like i’m too young for this because i’ll tell you what i think it’s because we’re in the mile high city i don’t know i don’t know if it’s the altitude or i don’t know but people like to go to bed early here and get up early in the morning and i we were never that way our total body chemistry has totally changed so now i embrace i’m like oh hell yeah 4 30 for dinner sounds perfect and in bed at eight even better yeah right absolutely it’s kind of whack-a-doodle yeah but i don’t know if it’s the clean crisp air that i’m breathing or that it’s the higher altitude um i don’t know but i’m okay with it yeah you just i’m now a morning person i don’t know what happened to me today i woke up it’s like 3 30 in the morning yeah and i’m like i think i’ll get some work done because i’m up i if you had told me that i would be that way there would be some place on the earth that would make me that way i would have laughed at you because i used this when i was a kid i’d sleep until three in the afternoon i know who would have ever thought yeah so people who know us way back in the day are like we didn’t want to call too early and i’m like it’s perfectly fine i’m up i’m up with i’m up with the roosters yeah guys not necessarily a function of getting older i think in part it’s just a function to come in a preschool i think it’s just so if you want to stay a night out well you might want to reconsider because your body clock will totally change when you yeah you won’t have a try i mean i didn’t do it by choice it just kind of happened i mean if you while you’re in the process of transition there there are places that do stay open uh and they’re all over here it’s uh whiskey road you see over there and that’s where all the the late night stuff is going on they’re usually open to two or three in the morning so if you want to do that you can uh but we would suggest to you that you probably won’t yeah over time you probably start getting up early in the morning with us so exactly we’ll see you for breakfast just exactly great breakfast here all over great great brunches that you can go have so just when you pass on that little tidbit your body clock might change yeah with the higher altitude yeah but you’ll still love it here they’ll still love it and you’ll still enjoy the pops here in the summer when they come play in the square so anyway where can they find your first plastic Video Transcript good afternoon all my friends out there fellow people people pizza pickle that’s correct i am diane and this is randy i’m randall yes and we’re in prescott arizona where your realtors hate you that’s right we picked the ladies that’s right we are here this afternoon in the square of downtown preston and find this pretty fountain isn’t it nice yeah i love it it kind of reminds me back home of new orleans yeah new orleans absolutely um but anyway we thought we would show you uh an area that’s really popular here uh a lot of um people who retire here love to restore old cars and this is where they like to show up and this is where they’re on the square it’s really cool so you’ll drive around and you’ll see all kinds of beautifully restored yeah yeah parked all around yeah those shut down like you see the traffic behind us here they’ll they’ll shut down a block or two and uh park all the cars just the other uh other day i was passing through here and they had a uh mg show yeah uh something girl murphy garage i forget what mg stands for but uh i couldn’t even type yeah but i mean it’s all so they had uh cars from the 20s the 30s all the way up to uh pretty recent cars a lot of cars from the 50s just gorgeous and so uh all the all the car nerds were uh talking about you know pistons and i don’t know suspension what are you talking about i don’t know we don’t know we don’t know we don’t know much about cars no we don’t but it is cool to see some fully restored model t yeah um yeah beautiful just beautiful and uh yeah you’ll see people drive just driving around town oh yeah with old vintage cars uh and then from time to time they’ll do a show here around the square and uh typically they’re they devote it to one particular kind of car so like that they have a corvette one and you know some hot rods and they’ll do moderates and yeah so if you are a car aficionado i did that i said that really well yeah you have a fisheye your cards or an affinity there you go there you go for restoring old cars and that’s your hobby you have found the town to come and retire too why are you just thinking about getting into it man it’s a good place to start so you can meet other people you guys can talk your nerd talk about restoring cars i don’t know but it’s really cool huge community of car restorers i’m sure they have a fancier name for themselves but i don’t know but it’s a great place to do it i guess because of the weather the the weather’s not hard on cars right so you restore it it kind of stays restored so you know our zone is big a lot of a lot of people are storing cars here but if that’s your hobby and you’re like well where can i wash up this is a good place to watch it you’ll meet some cool people you guys can share ideas show off your hot rods show off your beautifully restored cars right here in the square and just be able to lock it together it’s okay embrace it and breathe through it it’s cool it’s cool you deserve the right to do that you’ve retired yep you can do whatever you want now absolutely that’s what i that’s what i think i’m waiting for that point in my life it hasn’t come yet but i’m hoping yeah i’m hoping maybe it will and then i can do what i want last much you can find me at 713-302-1964 have a relocation center there lots of information and uh we got comps on houses all kinds of cool stuff absolutely check it out check it out come to the square see this beautiful fountain come check out the old cars if you’re lucky enough to drive by they might be all parked out there and you can check it out can you get some free pictures oh yes get some free tickets i’ll have some pickles ready for you absolutely all right have a great day talk to you soon bye

Video Transcript hello hello hello hey pete hello randall bro how are you i am good how are you governor i’m doing okay governor hat on yeah that’s right well good morning good morning i am diane breaux and this is my better half randall grove here in the beautiful square of downtown prescott yeah uh we are in august but we’re wearing our winter garb drinking coffee here yeah because we wanted to explain to some of you who think i can’t move to arizona it’s too hot yeah it’s desert yeah it’s broiling you are wrong you are wrong there are some sections as in phoenix and tempe that yeah has that terrible 120 115 yeah crazy weather but we’ve done the summer challenge man we’re dressing up for winter weather that’s right in our summer challenge in august summer challenge here in the square of recipe rescue the downtown square right by the courthouse so you can’t you can’t do this in phoenix no if you did this in phoenix or las vegas in august you’d burst into flames you’re right yeah so we decided let’s put our coats on so people who who just think arizona is too hot to move to we want to show you it’s not especially here in prescott we have four true seasons so here we are august 29th uh it’s 8 o’clock in the morning we are in full winter gear not even breaking the sweat not even breaking news it’s a lovely split 70 degrees right now yeah i made 75 sometimes early in the morning it’s about 8 a.m but it will get a little hotter later on today but it’s that much hotter yeah no it’s not yeah so here we are in in arizona and crossfit as well yeah yeah and it’s just not what you think when you think of arizona we have just the perfect perfect weather even our summers aren’t that hot nope right our winters are great our fall is even better yeah absolutely and spring is just lovely yeah so when you’re thinking i don’t want to move to arizona too hot too arid to this to that look at all the greenery around us just not we’re not not here in prescott no not at all it’s the perfect four seasons absolutely so we’ll do a winter challenge too yeah i don’t know how much how many clothes we can take off oh yeah nobody wants to see that but yeah i won’t be in a bathing suit yeah like you said nobody would want yeah yeah i work in the region my love you can reach me at 713-302-1964 or find us online at prescottpicklelady.com you’ll find a link there to our prescott relocation center lots of good information about prescott and moving here and making a new life for yourself so come to prescott don’t think about vegas and phoenix and and florida and all that too hot yeah you can’t bundle up in august there like we are absolutely come to prescott and enjoy beautiful living and great great weather all right have a good day bye

in general and prescott in general i’m impressed in general yeah and uh so i am diane bro and this is my partner randall brown yeah i’m the pickle ladies data troll or something that is correct kind of what we wanted to talk to i talked to you about today is uh people’s fear about moving in general not just in prescott but just moving to a brand new place that they don’t know because they don’t know anyone right and i’m going to go there i don’t know a soul i don’t know anyone and uh what this what this wine down is about is if you come to prescott and you work with us you will know us that’s right and that’s worth a lot more than you would think just knowing uh a real estate agent so uh we thought we sort of talked to you about that so many good friends yeah that i’m like wow i just love these people we’re still friends we still i’d like to see people a whole lot more and go out to eat a whole lot more but we’re always we’re always busy yeah but but when we do have availability i love to get together with former clients and now they’re just good friends yeah um and when you’re when you are brand new in a town uh just knowing one person or one couple i guess or three of us i get three of us in the pickle brigade just knowing three people well uh is of amazing value it is as you move in you can feel comfortable calling us yeah you know after you move in uh there are a lot of agents who are like done the deal’s done papers are signed see ya and you’re never here going to the next thing yeah we don’t like to be that way no no it’s kind of like everybody becomes my little peeps yeah the pickle peeps the pickle teeth they kind of come into the family and then i feel like i want to check in hey how are things going are you okay do you have any questions um you know besides our relocation guide yeah but you know sometimes you still just need to have that personal touch you need to be able to reach out and uh we like for me at least that’s my favorite part of the job yeah is i like still being in touch i like still being of assistance and helping you for us it’s not just give me that commission check when you’re moving moving is one of those things it’s uh do you want to get that turn that off somebody’s coming after the pickle lady tallahassee florida sorry i can’t talk right now sorry about that right now so uh when you are moving somewhere new that’s one of the phases of your life where a lot of things can go wrong you know if you’re starting a new job you just had a new baby god help us if that yeah you know what that you don’t go to there again no i would be shocked but you know when you go through these these points in your life where you’re sort of vulnerable yes and moving to a brand new house moving to a brand new city is one of those so having just a few people that you can call on and you know you make a call and you say uh can you get over here right now with every towel you own yes this was a recent event this is for you genie yeah who i consider a good friend yeah a really good friend uh genie weenie just moved into her house poor little thing she called me and said oh my god my house is flooded i’m out of towels and i ran out of towels and so we raced over there luckily we were actually home we raised my wife has a lot of time i do have a lot of time a lot of exceptionally large numbers yeah but anyway we literally raced over there and helped her wipe it all up stop it up get somebody out there to help her fix the problem turn the water off at the bridge um you know and so that’s the kind of service we like to provide yeah don’t think oh my house is closed and now you guys yeah if you would call a friend if you would call a friend you know where you’re living now and there’s somebody you would call uh because you need help uh you can call us you know i don’t like to talk the deal is done once you get your official recordation of your home yeah we are making connections you know dealing with hoas we’re dealing with we’re dealing with an hoa right now on two things on a fence and paint colors and and having having negotiated this myself it’s something i’m happy to do yeah i know when you move in you’ve got a hundred and fifty thousand boxes to one pack and it’s like you know i really wanna put my fence up but i gotta get my house together i’ll kind of try to do that part for you maybe you know if you want me to yeah we’ll do what we can yeah and then that way that’s one less thing you have to worry about and the wheels are in motion with the hoa to get whatever task you need to have done yeah and you don’t have to lose three months waiting time while you’re unpacking you know we like to kind of fill that blanket if you’d like you know what gets you hooked into the social scene absolutely introduce you to people we think you might get along with and you know yeah so you come to a brand new town you come to a brand new city my voice is changing yeah [Laughter] yeah so uh you know you you are vulnerable when you’re moving here but uh if you you reach out to us and we help you out then you got at least three people who will have your back we have your back yeah we don’t just consider you a job check done see you later um we like to keep in touch with everybody um we celebrate our relationship with you and that’s the way we like to do it that’s the way we roll absolutely we like to keep it personal and keep in touch sometimes i’d like to keep in touch a little more than i can but yeah you know we all get busy and everybody but we’re here so if you have anything major like hey tell them what do you really think about your doctor i can give you the speech oh yeah we’ll give you the scanning who do you think really does a good job with hair i can give you this you’re going to get it on that too i’ll tell you who really proves good beer yeah yeah so the point is um uh-oh uh just uh one quick tip uh just in this particular case if your house is flooding for whatever reason you should know how to turn the water off uh so if you go through the buying process and uh you know you’re going to have an inspector the inspector will show you where your main water turn off is uh most most appliances like the refrigerator it it’ll have its own shut off so you don’t have to shut off water to the whole house you’ll be able to shut it off there so that’s your fridge leaking just turn it off turn it off at the source that’s what that’s was the you know that’s what we did we you know mopped up the water there but that’s just a quick tip just a quick tip i learned myself yeah i learned myself happy that i actually i was super impressed that daddy here knew that i was really surprised tell me how i know uh because we had a dishwasher that flooded and i learned the hard way yeah ruined the floor i was i was impressed with that good job yeah yeah you live long enough you learn a few things anyway in conclusion in conclusion let’s talk about how wonderful and sweet [Laughter] yes she does but uh ultimately the goal of our practice is we want to be there for you before during and after absolutely um we really want to make your life here in prescott just fantastic no regrets we want you to have a nice smooth transition and we enjoyed it and we did we really do and we really become friends with some lovely lovely people i love you think that but yeah don’t be fooled by that especially when i fail at technology which is a lot yeah is that so nice i didn’t marry her for her technical savvy is that a word savvy i think that is i don’t know i don’t know i don’t know okay we’re outside our office here i have a little balcony that overlook i’m gonna see if you can see the square behind us here yeah down that street it’s right to the square in the square yeah to the square in good times yeah we’re still having fun making it work absolutely all right so today what we wanted to talk about was uh a lot of times we get texts emails phone calls i hate snakes i’m scared of scorpions yeah what’s the story i hear uh i was about to say alaska not alaska i know what’s wrong with me i don’t know we have friends yeah we do no but they’ll call and ask about arizona i hear they’re just written with all the critters all the time oh yeah i’m here to tell you that’s that we first one’s the snakes right so let’s do the snakes correct so we have the diamondbacks i’m not a sports guy what are the diamond banks basketball i’m not even sure i don’t know we uh we’ve been here three years we’ve had a few snakes none of them rattle snakes just like snakes the ones that eat the the mice and the bad so yeah i’ve never had a you know a diamondback yeah no i’ve never had an escape from that or anything it’s all good of course you know we’re all god’s creatures yeah um we cannot say unequivocally 100 you’ll never find one here um but i myself have not run in across one i go hiking i’m on the i haven’t run across one on the path um but it’s not like we’re we’re tons of snakes no i mean there are snakes all over the world so we can’t give you a hundred percent guarantee separate except for ireland ireland is supposed to not have sleep i’m not sure what that has to do with it but well i want to work that in i don’t want to speak falsely that the whole world doesn’t have something oh you heard that yeah that is rude somebody live in the present all right yeah but anyway all right scorpions scorpions same thing uh i’ve lived here three years i’ve never seen one in or outside of my home no um it’s not like they’re crawling around here owning the place at all no no you won’t see them uh again are they here sure is it a chronic problem like cockroaches no which is another thing no roaches and no mosquitoes oh my god the mosquitoes here are so stupid like you have one you could just go and kill them yeah they are amazingly stupid coming from the south yeah i mean you’re just eating a lot eating a lot it’s very refreshing to sit out on your deck people here think they have here yeah they’re mosquito they think they have bugs here yeah so they’ll put like screens on the windows like why do you bother you have no bugs here it’s amazing delightful absolutely delightful which is your usual favorite one i love the word but i’m going to adapt adopt it not adapt it i’m going to adopt that word it is very uh delightful so tarantulas i have seen maybe once a year i see tarantulas in some areas they like to uh they like to get on asphalt they don’t see them on the road yeah uh i have seen two since i’ve been here so on average maybe about once a year you’ll see a tarantula in an area where there’s asphalt and there’s not a lot of traffic and on the road just sitting there it’s not like they’re hanging out in your house yeah we’re not in the home or anything yeah so you never fear coming to prescott arizona that’s a hot rod never fear coming to prescott arizona about really lethal fatal scary critters they’re not that common and just for good measure we don’t have earthquakes either yeah we get that too we have earthquakes we have water we don’t yes that’s another one yeah yeah we’ll do one on water yeah no lack of water no lack of water the water comes from the tap here you turn it on it comes out we do not have earthquakes not to say that we could hold on another another motorcycle yeah not to say that you couldn’t but uh we don’t get tremendous i mean we are not god we can’t predict at all we try hard but no hurricanes no hard things just nice weather yeah nice Video Transcript hello hello hello hey peeps this is randall and diane bro he’s the pickle lady and i’m the i don’t know pickle person he’s pickle pickle man pickle pickle man um we have our sunglasses on because we’re standing directly directly in the sun so uh but anyway we’re having a great time we’re here at the biggest dog park here in prescott yeah huge and we’re having kind of look pan around here there’s some dogs and some people and people with dogs and all kinds of huge yeah yeah we would love to come here with our dogs we have one dog that behaves yeah one dog that absolutely does not she does not get along well with others not play well i should say not to sound like one of those moms but i think the others just don’t get along with her she’s misunderstood she’s largely misunderstood she is misunderstood her name is stella and the good one we have is frankie lou beautiful dogs yeah but uh but sadly we can’t do the dog park no but i wanted to show this to you guys yeah um and like you have well-behaved dogs or if you move here and get a well-behaved dog you can come here what i wanted to tell you was uh how prescott it’s a huge huge huge dog community yes everybody loves dogs yes everybody has a dog here yes um you go to eat at any restaurant and you’re on an outdoor patio they’ll probably have their pockets a couple of pups you come here to the dog park they got a huge i mean a huge piece of land yeah for the big dogs and then a smaller area for the smaller pups yeah they do and kind of kind of an area i don’t know if you can see it over there but they have a place that uh it’s kind of cordoned off for the smaller dogs although most people have small dogs don’t bother yeah they don’t they don’t follow the blue i know and their little dogs are the ones that come those are the ones yeah no offense to anybody out there but you know it’s true it’s true you can’t deny it you can’t deny it you can’t deny you know it’s true but it’s also cool they got a lot of stuff that the dogs can run on and have fun and climb on and jump off of and water and it’s it’s just great it’s right it’s located at the end of willow creek across from finley toyota there you go so for those of you who are new you pass by the fry shopping center and come on why do i have some shade on me but i do strange i feel like i’m in solar eclipse interesting yeah i don’t know but anyway um nature’s nature is a phenomenon yeah it is but don’t feel bad for our dogs though because uh we take care of them we uh we walk them quite a bit and uh we also ride them around they love to go for a ride yeah go like go for a ride so we have a dog that is devoted to the dogs it’s our dog car and uh at least twice a day in the morning in the afternoon they’ll come by us and start jumping around because they know it’s time for their run time for a ride so we take them for a ride everybody knows our car because it’s a black car and we have two black dogs they stick their heads out their heads and everybody’s like they’re going to pickle people again so you see crazy people driving around with their dogs hanging out the side of a black car that you know that’s us that’s us but we wanted to tell you when you move here in case you didn’t know about this great dog park you can come here and meet people here as well they’ve got a lot of chairs and people sit around and chit chat and there’s kind of a little dog family uh friendly community yeah yeah so please make a make a trip out here with your pup if you’ve got a good one yeah people here are super friendly dogs are usually friendly and uh it’s just a good place to kind of come enjoy a beautiful day like today beautiful beautiful day so all right that is it for the dog parks and the dog-loving city of prescott so where can they find you my love you can find me at 713-30 or on the web at prescottpicklady.com where you find a link to our prescott relocation center all kinds of great information about the city and where to find things and stuff about buying houses and everything where to get your hair cut yeah yeah yeah anyway so good good good information there so check it out happy to be here today and spread the news about this great dog park you guys have a good day bye
HOA Paint Colors

yeah okay we are now in fish capacity you want to introduce ourselves i was about to go ahead don’t jump that’s what i do i oh my god give me patience all right we’re here in our official capacity as realtors in our very nice beautiful new conference room here at our office i am diane and this is randall bro she’s pickle lady i am the pickle lady um and we are happy to be here this evening we wanted to kind of hang out at the office because it’s been a little hot yeah it’s nice and cool in here we’re waiting for the monsoons to come through they’re running late this year they are very much really weird weather patterns this year all over the country yeah we’re no exceptional hurry monsoons right absolutely yeah just one or two rain so far exactly so we’re here to talk about something that um well i’d like to help any of my clients when they’re moving in so just mr bro um and we kind of wanted to talk a little bit about customer service and some important things so recently we sold a lovely home in prescott lakes and my little lady wanted to have her whole home repainted so i do know you have your hoa so i went over and filled out the whole application and helped you pick out the paints and sadly they only meet every couple of weeks to decide yeah um because she was closing the next day they declined her colors yeah yeah it was kind of dumb but anyway kind of dumb so now we have to wait till august 6th so i wanted to talk to you about things like that when you need to do anything with your hoa be aware you can’t just go in fill the form send it in and say oh approve today no sometimes it takes two to three weeks and the board meets the board and then if you don’t get the answer you want then you got to do it all over again you know yeah so always check with your hoa if you want something done ready or fast you better you know expect it’s not going to quite happen that way yeah we try to get to get it all choreographed just so yeah uh obviously you know this is if you are moving from it in from out of town right so you’re trying to coordinate all this obviously get get the pickle lady uh involved right as your boots on the ground to try to get it all coordinated um so part of it is just so you know that we can help you do stuff like that and negotiate and administer that kind of thing and the other is just adjust your expectations adjust your expectations so we were declined on one color so now we have to wait till august 6 but that’s okay we’re going to resubmit and we’re going to start over but uh so i wanted you to be aware of that sometimes with hoas it takes a little time to get the final approval but you will always also we suspect that part of the reason why they didn’t just approve everything is that we had not closed yet mm-hmm and uh we suspect they wanted to make sure that we were closed before they do anything well that makes sense yeah i mean you can’t approve something on the house that someone doesn’t own yeah i totally get it yeah i was just my my point is yeah that’s how proactive we are as a team yeah i’m so proactive i’m like you know what this lady needs her house painted i’m on this i’m gonna make this happen i know where the hoa is i’m gonna go while she was still in california so we and our practice we very much like to help our people in any way we can we’ve had clients call and say i can’t get my ceiling fans to work okay so we come over and and then we call our other friend and our other agent and say hey uh how do we get this turned on we can’t get it oh did you get the remotes that’s another tip too so there are three of us working together to try to figure out some of these problems and get you the best help as fast as possible whether it be us or we have a whole list which is on our relocation center location center which lists painters handymen uh we have somebody who does stucco so our team we try super super hard to have as much information available so when you move and you need to have things done we are a source of information for you to help you get whatever you need to have handled and also on the on the social side too so not just it’s not just about your home uh a lot of times people want information about the local activity center or contact information for different clubs and stuff like that right uh so we’ll coordinate that we try to be super super available and i have to say not all agents are no nope they just say thank you so much goodbye have fun but if you come to us we’re all about customer service absolutely we really want to help you and give you some delicious pickles that’s right and sometimes i give you another bottle of pickles don’t underestimate the pickles some of you people love these pickles are a little to me can i have some that’s right price get pickled and you know what we got some notes yeah for those of you who are not in the business notes are hey let me tell you give you a little direction so one of our clients gave me some notes and said you need to explain what press could pick a lady means oh okay all right once or twice but i’ll cover it again um i am the president pickle lady because i make delicious new orleans style cajun pickles so when you call me and we go out i’ll bring you some of my delicious cajun pickles that’s right people started calling it a pickle lady right and i’m cool with that at first i was embarrassed but i’m okay you can call me pickles pickle lady whatever i respond to anything yeah pickles are good and uh the pickles are hot and spicy sweet and garlicky all at the same time so anyway this is randall bro i am dianbro with prescott huh that’s not right i’m just agreeing with you okay are you gonna interrupt me again absolutely he keeps doing this yeah that’s what we do all right but anyway i had a little bit of wine cheers but anyway we are there’s something about my car my car wants to be in the shot is your car yeah and uh we are excited today we are with some of our favorite clients absolutely hal and linda bray they are transplanted californians and we are at their beautiful beautiful home like so many of our clients are yes yes we figured these guys are like a role model for the whole state they totally are and so we are very excited to interview them today uh randall’s gonna get out of the shot because you can’t fit all four of us we can’t fit all four of us this popsicle stand i’m going to blow it that’s right but uh we’re going to have a good time they’re going to talk to you see the car you see the car there the car attracts the camera anyway um they’re going to talk to you about what it’s like to move here to press get coal from california and how great it’s been and i i just so admire them and their spirit and their go-to-ness and they’re like you know what we’re going to make this happen and we’re going to start a whole new chapter in our life so so with that she’s ready to get rid of me that’s right place me with them i don’t want to talk to him anymore yeah you guys probably had enough he’s getting you have like dappled sunshine on your face i like dapple dapple is good good word good work thanks it’s like an apple flavor but only better so in a second it’s that car again that car is sister treat all right hush stop by the car because i had enough of that all right but anyway in a second you will meet linda and hal bray can’t wait to talk to you all right let me get out of here bye bye cheers cheers i am so very very happy to introduce some of my favorite clients this is hal and linda bray they came here straight from california we are in their beautiful home here in pinion oaks and look at the view over our shoulder uh anyway what i so love about them is just their spirit their spunk their outlook on life and they decided you know what we need to move we need to make a change and we’re going to prescott arizona they came here cold and tell us about your going away party about what some people said to you some people said oh we’ll miss you so much and others probably not but um one of them that’s not true thank god the breakthrough but one of them actually said we’re stuck here we’re too old to move and i thought oh that really said it all so we were really glad that we did what we did not saying the boxing was fun but it was well well worth it so do you find that it was terribly hard to do or you’ve just embraced the city right well all of a sudden it was it was when the boxes were emptied we thought oh now what and then we thought oh maybe i’ll go sign up for a class maybe we’ll join a group maybe we’ll do this and that and it’s been easier and easier and we get this every day so we’re glad we did it right i get up every day and i look out from the porch here and i say thank god i get to live in prescott prison here um perfect you know we camped and hiked all over the country our whole life and when we looked at prescott we said we’ve got to live there and frankly we wanted to leave california for a whole bunch of reasons and i can’t find anything that i don’t love about living here absolutely great and you know what’s great about them is they are joiners they came here they found their church group right away um hal has already been published with a letter to the editor right i mean they jumped in you do tai chi at the senior center um and you know it it’s kind of like what hal said you know what if you can be president in your 70s you can make a move and start a whole new chapter in your life it’s fine it’s not the end it’s just the start it’s the beginning and and there’s a peacefulness here that you don’t see in other places um we we went to sedona twice you’ve been here 50 miles away in california if you’re going 50 miles away plan on being on the road for two and a half hours we went to sedona and in an hour and an hour i was gonna say a little under an hour but we wouldn’t speed have never been but it was great right part of being here part of the pleasure of being here is for example my taxes my property taxes all my taxes are less than half what they were in california so between the cost of living and what’s here already in prescott now it’s summer we’re into tourist season we have fairs in the mall practically every weekend it’s a great place to be lots of lots of things to do yes i mean and these these are folks that came here they have no family they have no friends here although we became friends we have a lot of fun with them um um but they came here and truly have had to restart it’s like a brand new chapter and they’ve completely embraced it and they said there’s so many things to do between the hiking you know everything else they go to this uh senior center uh they’ve joined the y um i mean don’t be afraid correct absolutely what do we say just do it just do it just do it just yeah i think part of that part of what makes it easier is you have to think a little bit before you actually make the move and if you plan a little bit the move itself is not that hard yeah yeah absolutely they made a couple of visits we had fun looking at houses we really did and and they ended up buying this beautiful home here with great views and you know i just admire their courage really because to me it’s really scary to start over and leave your family you left your son and your granddaughter who i know you love and adore but guess what she comes and visits and it’s a one-hour flight from la and they’re making it work yeah we actually use the regional airport um i went last month to see my granddaughter and the little regional airport here has flights to la daily flight’s coming home so we made that work it’s nice so i applaud you and i’m just so glad that uh you became our client and now you’re our friends and uh i just admire everything you’ve accomplished and i just think you’re awesome thank you thank you you’re awesome too so cheers and thank you for agreeing to be part of our wine down absolutely so if you’re thinking ah maybe my ship has you know sailed uh i’m i’m not in the right age anymore to do this you were wrong correct correct you need to do it and make it happen captain right right no hello oh imagine meeting you here we were just meditating yeah realtors have to do that yeah from time to time you just gotta tune out and kind of tune in oh my god you need to tune in a lot yeah absolutely uh anyway so it’s awesome yes this is diana randall bro here your fellow prescott realtors we’re here today and these beautiful rocks the dells here it’s actually here in prescott um but it gives you around a little bit beautiful beautiful but it gives you um a little feel of uh we’re kind of like a little baby sedona here and uh love to come out here to the rocks and hike in here and uh there’s a beautiful neighborhood that’s uh in here as well but uh i love the rocks it’s peaceful it’s quiet it’s just gorgeous which leads me to the beautiful rocks of sedona the red rocks red rocks red rocks of sedona one of our favorite day trips absolutely this past spring we went two or three times we did we did and we had a lot of visitors and that’s what’s really nice when you have a lot of company um spend a day trip we are only an hour away from sedona so and 45 minutes from jerome yeah uh the little mining town along the way yeah you want to stop jerome on the way there that the way back for uh the burgers that’s right haunted burgers but uh anyway sedona we’ll have some little splices in with our friend who came yeah we went thank you shout out to jill shout out to jill taylor came all the way from texas also uh went there with uh diane’s family right there with my sister and all of her clan and we had a great time shout out to the galadora galadoros we had a good time and uh the great thing about going to sedona is you completely can get re-energized they have an amazing spa out there if you really want to go get away they have amazing pink jeep tours which are fun and uh if you just want to hike around the red rocks and explore some of the vertices which is the plural vortex vortex vortices what did i say vertex i said no vertices is like when two things meet a vortex is like a no one really knows an energy energy yeah and so whirlpool that’s right um it’s cool and it’s in a lot of the uh trails out in sedona there’s certain ones that are very important for that yeah they have a vortex out by the airport you might not want to fly in a sedona vortex by the airport not a good idea but i’m not picking it up they do have a vortex it’s really cool it’s very reminiscent of these beautiful rocks that i just can’t get enough of i’m a big rock freak i love it the energy from them is just um i don’t know i like it so when i need to recharge i make a little trip to sedona spend the day have a nice lunch and uh you know bring your friends you’ll have a lot of uh a lot of fun yeah it’s something different it’s a beautiful scenery something you don’t really see unbelievable so we got to get a shot of those gels right there oh there we go there we go it’s it’s it’s like a giant a big giant came through here and he just picked up rocks and threw them held it’s whack-a-doodle is what it is it’s cool though i think that is how this was all formed a giant yeah and the gels can only be found these rock formation called the dells can only be found here in prescott yeah in wisconsin and in germany germany three places so it’s only three places in the world and they are something neat to see yeah really cool so anyway come here come see the dells and prescott go to sedona go to sedona ride the pink jeep and enjoy those enjoy the red rocks enjoy the vortexes pick up some crystals it’s all good there’s nothing wrong with it it’s all good namaste i got these from there too which helps me keep my energy up but anyway all right friends that is all you can reach us at 713 or on the web at prescottpicklelady.com check out our relocation center yes you find all kinds of wonderful information about prescott and what you need to get here and utilities and what will happen yeah what will happen with restaurants and just all kinds of stuff we’ve set up everything every single step of the way we tried to add as much information as possible to make your move here nice and smooth and a great transition all right my friends well come join us here in the rocks and uh re-energize yourself that’s right all right have a great day good to see you bye

Due diligence is important, and there is a specific time and process for how it happens. In this episode we discuss how it all works and some tips and tricks you should know.
Video Transcript hello hello hello friends this is your friendly realtors here in prescott arizona prescott pickle lady prescott pickle lady this is diana randall bro here today we’re in the arizona room uh which is a great little ballroom here in hasayamba yeah today’s uh hacienda filming yes you caught on to that yes but we love it here anyway so we are here today to kind of talk to you guys about inspection period election period inspection period is very important absolutely so once an offer is decided upon and get your earnest money in place yep you get your earnest money in place with your title company which time for due diligence put your uh money in escrows opened and then the 10-day inspection period yes start yes which is really cool so within 10 days you have your home inspection you have your termite inspection if you’re out in a remote area then you have your well inspection etc wells uh we typically give a 20-day inspection period so we get the water samples back they’re usually 10 but usually they’re 10. usually there’s no weld so yeah that’s done yeah so this is a very important time during that time if anything should change if you find something out during inspection that you don’t like that you can’t agree upon with the seller to either correct or give you some money towards that you know repair whatever whatever negotiations fall apart at that point within that 10 days you can easily walk away and still get your earnest money back yeah correct that’s basically what the inspection period is it’s your due diligence time so during that time you’re going to find out everything you’re going to get disclosures from the seller you’re going to have your inspection reports coming in uh you’re going to get hoa information all of this stuff yes uh insurance make sure you can get that property is insurable this is the time to do your due diligence you have 10 days to do it if there’s any reason at all why you decide you want to back out generally you can and get your earnest money back if you do it within the 10-day inspection period right and so during that time you’re also going to get what’s called the spuds and that is disclosures from the seller about everything that’s been done to the property or incidents you get your insurance claims reports which if they’ve had any kind of yeah so if if there’s a claim and it’s not on the disclosure shame on them that’s why they do that it’s kind of a check to make sure that you know oh they had the roof replaced but they they failed to disclose that well you’ll get the insurance claim so you’ll see that yes well one thing that you you should understand about the inspection period is it’s the time to do due diligence don’t try to do your due diligence before you go under contract you’ll lose the house okay yes go under contract then you get everything you don’t have to be a detective or any you know everything will be given to you will have all the information and if you decide to walk you get your earnest money back you’ll be out the money that the inspectors will cost you which you know we’re talking hundreds of dollars not thousands right and the other thing is once you do have all of your disclosures and things that need to be maybe that pop up during inspection then you go into your binzer period where you approach your buy your sellers and you say hey you know what i’d like this this and this address yeah and you come to it’s another very few homes are perfect uh and so generally there’ll be something that you want the seller to take care of and so you do that through a document that’s called the binzer it stands that benzer’s buyer inspection notice seller response and uh essentially it’s like another round of negotiations so you know this is what i’d like fix the seller says yes the seller says no the seller says there’s something in between right the seller offers you money instead of the repairs themselves all of this is essentially another round of negotiations exactly and if you can’t come to an agreement uh then you walk with your interests you walk with your owner’s money now here’s something very key if after the 10-day inspection period you have decided i’m going to stay in there hang in there and then day 20 you decide hmm i change my mind you will lose your earnest yeah then you probably lose at that point you will not have yeah that’s what the inspection fear is for so hit it hard yeah exactly that’s when you do your thinking exactly so i think that covers inspections what are your thoughts yeah i think so anything you’d like to add sounds a lot more complicated it’s really not it’s really not it protects i guess both sides yeah it definitely protects both sides and uh and we’re here to help you through it absolutely we’re happy to do that you don’t have to think oh my gosh i don’t know a home inspector i don’t have a termite guy we have all of that for you yeah we’ll get that we will help you every step of the way we’ll get you through the process we’ll help you if any any trouble comes up we will address it and help you and be your intermediary yeah absolutely so yes we’re happy
