Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello peeps. Or as we say in New Orleans, bonjour. Bonjour. Bonjour. We say that New Orleans sometimes. Sometimes you got to say with a y accent. Bonjour. They go. Anyway. Yeah. Anyway, that’s that’s with a New Orleans accent. It’s not it’s not Parisian. I’ll say that. Okay. (00:24) So, this is Diana Randle Bro coming to you from the lovely mountain town of Prescat, Arizona. I’m Rand. She’s the presc. I am. Yeah. And uh anyway, welcome to this show. Our show. Our little baby show. Our little baby show. Our little baby show. We’re here today to talk to you about your Prescuit Tribe. Your Prescuit Tribe. (00:44) So Prescuit Tribe. Prescuit Tribe. So a lot of people we talked to one of the big reasons why they are hesitant about leaving where they are now. No matter how bad it is, no matter how bad the traffic is, how high the taxes are, how bad the crime is. Yep. You know, but my friends are the fires. Yeah. I’m catching on fire. Yeah. (01:07) I’m about to lose my home. But about to lose my home, but I don’t want to leave because my my friends live right next door and their house is also burning. Um here’s the thing. We are starting to hear more and more of people doing tribes, doing enclaves. They they come as a group. So it’s like, well, look, if you’re going to leave and you’re going to go someplace else, we should all go together because we’re all friends. (01:30) We would obviously we would encourage that kind of thing. We do see that kind of thing happening more and more. So we would encourage you if you are thinking, well, I probably need to move on. This isn’t the place for my retirement. Chances are you have lots of friends that feel the same way. Get them to be part of the conversation. (01:51) You know, have to come with you. Or better yet, I will tell you, uh, we came here cold. Did not know was sold. No family, no friends. Uh, we have another good friend, Bob, who also came here cold. Um, join join a country club. Yeah. Join golf. Yeah. Um, we have met probably some of the closest, dearest friends that we’ve ever had. Yes. In 40 years of marriage. (02:16) I mean, we are taking it day by day now. Marriage, not the friendships. Not the friendships, but we we aren’t almost 40. Well, almost 39. So, we take it day by day, but the friends are here forever. I will say that. I think I think most of them might come with me, but I don’t know. (02:37) But anyway, if we But the the point is is that don’t be afraid of leaving family and friends. There’s a whole big world out there. And honestly, if you open yourself up and you attend, you know, you join a club, you join uh golf, you join this, you join that, you would be amazed how friendly and welcoming people here are at. That’s right. (02:59) And you know, I I really didn’t understand what good friends were until I came here. And he got lost in the fields. Yeah, that’s right. I we did we did a we did a wind wind down on that where they they came and quote rescued me though I still say I was not lost but you know we were living in Baton Rouge uh we were a young couple with young kids and I was traveling a lot and our so-called friends so so Diane uh had a snake there was a snake in the house and the guy no no no no some there was a loud crash in the middle of the night he traveled all the the time. Yeah. So, I (03:37) had babies, uh, young children, I mean, babies, and we were all sleeping in the middle of the night. Glass crash and break and broke. And I was like, “Somebody’s breaking in my house.” So, I called my neighbor across the street. Said, “Oh my gosh, can you look out the window? Tell me what’s going on. I had this tremendous crash. (03:54) I’m here with the babies. Randall’s not here.” And he said, “I would recommend that you call 911.” Yeah. And I said, “You are now dead to me from here on out.” Yeah, but here in Prescuit that would never happen. That would never happen. Never. People would fly over. I mean, I’d have 15 people here saying, “We’re on our way. Don’t worry. Don’t open the door. (04:15) We’re here. Don’t worry. Call the police. We’re coming. We’re going to,” you know. And so, that is what life in Prescat is. Yeah. Yeah. It really is. 100%. So, we call it your Prescat tribe. These are people who are true blue. Uh, they even give you bone marrow. Oh, yeah. They give you blood. They give you whatever you need. (04:34) These people, nobody’s going to match me. I’m caging this. It’s going to match me and I’m not going to match anyone else. You’re screwed. But anyway, the rest of us are doing okay. We’ll Yeah, they’re going to do kidneys and all that. Not Somebody will save the rest of us. You’re on your own. But uh but no, it is true. (04:49) It is some of the the best people we’ve ever met. Um I’ve never traveled with folks. Um these these are people we travel with. We have a great time. They accept us for who we are in all of our crazy which is saying a lot which is saying a lot because we are crazy. Um and you know they just have your back. Yeah. (05:08) And it’s just not something we’ve experienced living elsewhere. But you know if you if you got a good group of friends and you don’t want to leave them behind, bring them with you. Bring them with you or at least begin to explore the possibility with them. Yeah. Uh, as we mentioned in an earlier windown that Diane and I are going to be doing some online things. Come to an online event. (05:32) Yeah. You don’t even have to come to Prescuit. Get a few people, all your friends, and jump in and see what it’s all about and we’ll chitchat. And we’ll chitchat. Yeah. And we’ll chitchat because if you are someplace that you don’t want to be, there’s no reason for you to stay there. That’s right. Find your own Prescribe here in Prescuit. (05:53) That’s exactly we sure did and a lot of our friends have as well and there’s no looking back. So anyway, you and the rest of your friends will be welcome here. Insummation. Yes. Just come here. That’s all. That’s all I’m saying. We’ll give you some good friends. And we’ll have a good time. Absolutely. Absolutely. All right. (06:14) So, cheers to you. So, that’s your Prescuit tribe. Whether whether you need to bring your tribe or develop your tribe once you’re here, Prescat in Prescat, you can find a tribe. a tribe like you’ve never had before. So that’s right. It is the place to be. Yeah. So So that’s your tip of the day. Yep. (06:30) If you’re into tips, the place to go is pickle411.com. That is our free information site. Whether you are a buyer or seller or somewhere in between, there’ll be something there for you that will amaze, astound, educate, and entertain. Yeah. Like you’ve never seen. Bob is on the board of directors of a very special volunteer organization called “People Who Care”. Join us as we discuss the amazing work “People Who Care” is doing for our Prescott neighbors and where you can sign up to join the cause!
hello hello hello fellow pickle peeps this is Dian Bro but today I don’t have the better half i have an even better half Bob Swelgen cheers to you Bob well thanks Diane thank you for joining us he is uh one of our oldest and dearest friends when we moved to Prescuit uh we’ve been friends a long time we travel together and we’re still friends that’s amazing huh it is amazing so we are very very excited because uh Bob is on the board of uh directors he is the treasurer of a very very special organization here in Prescuit called (00:40) People Who Care and so Bob has been asking us hey can I come on and talk about it and we’re like of course because it’s a very valuable um community office uh service that uh his this nonprofit it’s a it’s a nonprofit organization that uh we well was put together about 35 years ago so it’s been around quite a long time we have a good number of people who provide the service of for those people who can’t uh maybe they’re not able to see so well or not ambulatory or or they just don’t like to drive or do things right we provide a (01:16) free of charge service that will take people to non-medical doctors or hospital non-medical things so just for for the for the visit not major surgery or something like that we’re not going to carry you in and out of in and out of the doctor’s office we’re not gonna sling you over and carry you and we take we’ll take pets to vets cool which is kind of cool we have some people who uh they can’t see very well and we’ll actually have volunteers who will uh go to their home and help them read their mail uh we’ll have one or two people who (01:48) actually go and help people with the personal finances and things like that and as you know this town has a very you know a large uh demographic of 65 and older so there are a lot of folks here who maybe are by themselves maybe family isn’t nearby and so they really rely on people who care to come in and help them with some of these day-to-day things that maybe become a little challenging as you get older maybe you don’t drive anymore so people who care can come over take you to the bank like he said take you to your appointments take you to the (02:20) vet but also like he was saying too if you have a new computer right exactly right if you have a have a new computer and you want to transition from one to the other we have people who will come over and help you with that if you got a new telephone you kind of figure out how to use it um would that work for me i think I’ll just say I think we’ll send we’ll send somebody over by you soon too and and get this again free service to come over so it’s uh it’s just a group of volunteers of which I think now we have (02:48) 267 active volunteers today really uh which is pretty good and we can go over budget you got a pretty good budget well we do about a $750,000 budget so we are always looking for two things one is for volunteers and also donations so it’s kind of like you know paying forward a couple ways you know we look at people who move here maybe they’re in their 60s or very active 70 or even the 50s and they want to keep busy want to do stuff so and they want to do something worthy that makes you feel good that you’re giving (03:21) to the community exactly right you want you want to contribute to people who who have a need because at some point in time as I’m I’m here nine years um yeah I look at this and say well you some point in time that may be me who has who has a need so uh I pay forward as do a lot of other people thinking that well at some point in time the community will return the favor absolutely and uh and we try to do that we have fact we have a a couple who made money for years going around the world on providing services (03:51) to do macular degeneration which is a very big problem it’s like seven to 10 7 to 10% of people over 65 have that issue absolutely unfortunately with a with an arrangement we have with the VA a VA hospital they provide some uh equipment that we utilize in our services and if people need some equipment we can actually get it to them whether it be free or if people can afford to pay we actually would like a little bit of that but if not that’s okay mhm um and we provide that services to a good number of people every year but it’s a it’s a (04:26) worthwhile organization we take care of people in a community um again it’s all free of charge now it’s unbelievable and it’s not based on financial need okay so it’s not like um you have to be a certain you know have a certain level of income or little you know no it’s open to anybody who needs help and these uh volunteers are vetted these are not people I just pull off the street hey you want to do something for us no they have a a criminal check we we do have to do a a fingerprinting and it gets cleared through the Yavapai Sheriff’s (05:00) Office uh we do personal vetting meaning if you want to come and volunteer we require a number of references that we have people who call and actually validate the fact that yeah you are a real person you are you you are what you say you are right and we do an online review as well mhm so we really make sure that we have quality people who are really here for the right reasons um and and we’ve had zero instances by the way zero instances of of any issues um in my tenure as well as all the past that I could find 35 years wow so it’s good (05:34) folks who are volunteering a good time so what is the time requirement if you are a volunteer do you have to do a certain amount of hours a week or No as a matter of fact there is no time requirement okay uh you volunteer to become available when you are available meaning uh we have a database that people who have a need can log in and say I have a need to go to the doctor’s office next Thursday or something or even this afternoon and we do have a group of people who actually assign themselves to certain volunt to certain (06:04) we call them neighbors not people in need we call neighbors right so so certain neighbors would input a need and certain volunteers would go back and fulfill that need i like that which is kind of cool if they if they can’t do it then your your response just has to be no today i can’t make it and that’s a complete sentence is just can you do it no right fine okay we’ll send it to you next time so nobody’s putting a gun to your head or nobody’s making you sign anything that says I got to do it it’s free freewheing if you would to the (06:33) point of if I can make the time to support it I’m going to go do that and if you can’t you can’t and nobody’s ever going to call you know that about the time requirement that’s great because a lot of folks are volunteering they’re they’re retired and they’re going to see grandchildren and so it’s kind of nice you have the freedom to offer when you’re here in town and if not that’s okay they’ll pass it on to someone else to come help their neighbor and we know it’s you know the times aren’t great economically so it’s you know you got (06:59) gas fee gas prices and everything else going up we do compensate the um uh the volunteers with the 67 and a half cents per mile that the government has um as their limit you can pay somebody allotted for um for this type of question but the volunteers do not get paid but they can get compensated for mileage correct correct yeah there’s Yeah volunteers are volunteers right and so they donate their time but we do compensate them for mileage because that’s more than their time right sure so it’s um I think that’s fair yeah yeah (07:33) we get Yeah we get a lot of people who um they some of them take the check some of them just sign the check back over and make a donation which we like i love that so it’s u so again it’s just a lot of good people who um make a lot of u space in their day to help others um and again it’s kind of a you know pay it forward it’ll come back in spades later I think so what so we have not only is Bob on the board but we also have a lot of friends who are not on the board but they just simply volunteer their time so (08:01) they have a set group of people that they love and they’re like you know what I would like to work with whatever Bill and I’d like to work with Shirley so put me on with but uh Bill and Shirley and they will take them out every week you know one gentleman is is uh blind so he goes to help him get his cash so he knows you know that he can be safe and protected and Yeah that’s right we have that the one gentleman you’re talking about buddy of our named Chuck know he knows which um which bank to go to which teller at the bank to go to (08:35) when this guy goes for some reason still gets checks that help Chuck helps him get out of his mail they go to this teller and she knows what to give him as far as the the currency issues and you know the $20 bills $10 bills and he makes payments but he has a jacket he always wears and he puts so much money in each pocket to know what it’s all for and then Chuck takes them home and make sure he puts those dollars in the allowed spot so his bills get paid so it’s it’s it’s kind of cool because people have a relationship together and (09:04) so they they know exactly where to go and who to go see which teller to go to it’s like friendships that people form and also you know they just become close and they help each other out which is what community should be about right so you were saying here your 2024 stats you have 267 volunteers and they work 22,000 hours you said that’s right so in um I’ll give you I’ll give you the 10ear stats because we only we go back 10 years because the data before 10 years is 10 years okay we’ve been around 35 but prior to 10 you know (09:40) we didn’t have computers and all that kind of stuff to keep track so I just look at 10 so last 10 okay the average tenure by the way of every volunteer is over five years oh wow so once they get involved with it they stay with it and so good retention good retention so they feel good about it and they’re happy with what they’re seeing volunteering they feel they’re performing a worthwhile service so we have 550 volunteers over 10 years uh 168,000 hours neighbor served again we call the person who needs our services a (10:10) neighbor right um 2240 wow we’ve driven over 1.4 million miles in that process wow and provided uh services 72,000 times um that’s a lot and if you take it $25 an hour being an hour per service that’s about 44 and a4 million worth of um services provided free of charge wow uh now right now we have like 267 um in in 2024 we’ve driven 22,000 miles uh 321 personal paperwork helps i need that and um and 330 just wellness calls oh wow so if people just would like to get a call to make sure they’re okay sure we do that oh I love that i know (10:57) that that’s nice and you did 204 help with tech devices so I would like someone to come help me with my personal paperwork and tech devices how about taxes yeah we’ll help you with taxes soon as I get somebody to help me with my Exactly you don’t do everything in other words you do a lot you do a lot we do a lot it makes you feel good when you do it and you see people who are very very happy to receive it and like I said I think it’s great as you look at people who may move to Prescuit this is something that they they may look at and (11:28) say you know what maybe I I want to keep busy here’s something I can keep busy with um you know when when they decide it’s time to make a donation at the end of the year maybe they’ll think of us also and I think it’s great too i mean it’s just you really do form close personal relationships with these folks and you can do as much or as little as you want um but you do get close and they’re very appreciative you you get something out of it you feel great and you you feel worthy i mean a lot of folks who you know retire are like “What (11:58) am I going to do with myself?” This is something that makes you feel good exactly right we’ll have people who just come by the office we have a very nice office um in in office it’s off of Gurley okay you get past the bowling alley and go almost to the woods yeah yeah a very nice office complex uh off to the side we had uh someone donate a good Well fact it was a legacy donation we didn’t even know what was going to happen till this woman passed and it wind up we had a large amount of money wow and we also had a person who uh was (12:32) in owned the building that we are now in who decided that you know he really likes people who care and his son was utilizing people who care as he was challenged and needed some help a so we got one heck of a deal on the office we got one heck of a deal on somebody helping us with the financing and now we have offices we rent out to other people as well because it’s a pretty pretty goodized place so you’d be impressed if you came by to see the office i would like to so the other the other good thing is is that um with people who care anyway the other good thing is it’s not just locals who are uh donating you know money towards this worthy cause but there’s al that the hospital is donating a ton of money to people who care we get (13:43) a lot of um donations through grants the hospital will give us a grant u some wealthy people in the area make a point of giving us a grant every year we do other things to raise money we have a golf tournament every year out at the club of Prescott Lakes yay which is a great a great fun event cheers to that absolutely and uh we’re going to have a gayla or had have had gaylas to support the organization um auctions and things like that that’s coming up so we try to keep ourselves um active as we can we try to give more people awareness (14:16) community awareness and that’s why I appreciate you letting letting me speak about this today well he’s a good friend and he’s a good friend good person and uh you know anybody who’s out there and who really wants to get involved this is a worthy worthy cause and uh it’s just great absolutely please uh people who care just go people who care. (14:38) org we’ll give you more information on the on the organization um and you look for more and more information as you get to Prescuit um if you need some help um Diane can get you in touch with me and we will and we will uh grab you and suck you into people who care because you’re going to have a great time and feel much value to yourself and to your soul and give back to the community absolutely so for and for those of you out there who are thinking I do need some help they can call uh people who care. (15:08) org or Absolutely they can look there you go to peoplecare.org and Well when you do that that’s easier to say than phone numbers you’ll see a number there you can call that number and get Meredith will be answering the phone to support you um or just peoplecare.org and send a message via that so any neighbors out there who are thinking gosh this is something I need i really I kind of need some help um I’m here by myself this is great we’re here they’re here to help you um and I know a lot of people on the board and just friends who are volunteers good (15:39) good folks and they just want to give back to the community so we can’t speak highly enough about it and we hope that you reach out to us if you need help or if you just want to be a good volunteer this is it that’s it we’re always looking for you know volunteers looking for donations yep i like donations absolutely donations are always good busy and you’re a crazy realtor like we are there’s no doubt about that it’s hard to even go on a vacation with you guys without you guys being on the phone i know it’s terrible but uh but you know (16:10) at least we could make donations which you know what i’m going to do that now because I think it’s a great great uh great thing and um yeah we run matching programs uh at the end of the year which is just getting over today with being tax day um well we’re just just getting over earlier and um you can do that as far as you know getting matching donations prior to the tax issues you can um put things into your into your will which we encourage people to do if you’re going to pass money on to someone um please do it for us (16:43) for an organization that can help so again if you’re real busy with time make a good donation if you are have a lot of time and you want to do something worthy donate you donate your time and your services we need it and we have a great community here of folks who’ve been here maybe 20 years and maybe now they need a little extra help so this is a worthy cause and we’re happy to help you and happy to do it and I know these people i can vouch personally for them all they’re good people well thank you for the help i appreciate it you’re welcome (17:13) so again what is that people who care.org people who care.org uh please check us out see what you think um Diane and Randall I’m sure will be um communicating with me as you give them a call and say “I want to volunteer my time i want to volunteer my money i want to volunteer or I need someone to help me out. (17:32) ” Yes whether it’s you know reading or vision or driving to the get your pet to the vet uh get me to the doctor’s office absolutely and remember it is not based on financial need it’s just to help anyone who maybe needs a little extra help does not matter on your finances or your situation we’re just here to help our our older community all right well thank you Bob we’re so glad you came i appreciate it all right cheers to that cheers to people who care and you better call us all right we look forward to hearing from you take care bye bye
You read that right! If you’re looking for a night of acrobatic tricks, live music, and pasties, then get yourself on over to Prescott’s very own “The Federal” aka “The Fed.” Join us this week as we regale you with our experience of being elders in the crowd, as well as what to expect from this night of burlesque fun.
Hello, hello, hello, hello peeps and welcome to the Randol and Dian bro show. No, not really. But anyway, we are your local friendly realtor couple here in Prescuit. She’s the Prescuit pickle lady. I am her sidekick or girkin or he is. And so we like to uh bring you guys, welcome you to Prescuit, take you around, find you a great house and show you what life is all about here. Yes. (00:26) So, something interesting we just discovered and we went to with former clients, now friends. Shout out to Cheryl and Mike. Thanks for being good sports and coming with us. It was an interesting night. Interesting night at the Fed. So, let’s start at the Fed. Yeah. So, the Fed is the Federal and uh it used to be a uh a post office. (00:50) Well, no, no. Upstairs was the courthouse. Courthouse. Well, I’ve never been above it was the courthouse. When we first moved here, it was a post office. So you there were people working there. Post office downstairs. This still operates as post office. Yes. Do they wear pasties at the post office? Well, I guess they could. It’s acceptable now. (01:08) It’s acceptable now. Okay. All right. You can express yourself. No body shame. I get it. Hey, everybody’s welcome. Hey, it’s okay. So, evidently it’s still a post office, but upstairs there is a event venue called the Federal. Yes. And it’s the old like there’s one room they call the jury room. (01:27) I assume at one point there were juries in there and there’s like a the stage area I think used to be a courtroom. Yes, that’s what I just said. It was like a that’s where the judge sat and preided. So that’s that’s on like the second or third floor. What’s what’s above that? Do you know? I don’t know. Nobody knows. (01:45) Nobody knows the Yeah. Nobody knows. But the fed is on I think it’s second floor. Third floor. I forget. Go. We walked up the stairs. It doesn’t matter. It’s on the second floor. On the second floor. It’s important. It’s a pretty pretty pretty venue. So, if you walk up the stairs and you get to the Fed, don’t keep climbing the stairs. Yeah. (02:02) Stop because you’ve hit the right place. So, it’s a cool venue. I had never been to it before. Uh, great for bands, kind of self-contained. Yeah. Uh, I’m sure you can rent the place out if you have your own event you want to do there. And just really kind of cool. It was a just a really cool space. (02:20) And what was going on there is um perhaps difficult to describe. Right. And I have heard about this, but I had never participated. And so our our friends Mike and Cheryl said, “Hey, have you heard there’s a burlesque show here in Prescuit?” I said, “You know, I’ve heard about it, but are you for real? Where? I’ve never I never knew that such a thing really happened. (02:40) I’d heard rumor.” She goes, “Oh, no. It’s a real show and it’s about once a year.” So I’m like, “You know what? For shits and giggles, we should go. Let’s go.” So we did. We went. So, we did. And I I mean, I should know better because I’m from New Orleans. I should totally have known the difference between burlesque and drag. I learned differently. Yeah. (02:59) Yeah. We were kind of thinking it was going to be a drag show. That’s what I thought. It was not. It The people wearing pasties were um actual young ladies. Real women. Real women. And not all of them were wearing pasties, but a fair number of them were. Yeah. Uh crazy show. (03:16) It was It was called The Forbidden Garden. Yeah. And it last the show lasted for so I should talk about the group first. So young people uh evidently there are some here in Prescuit and most of them performed in this burlesque show I think. Uh either that or they were in the audience. So it’s obviously a very young vibe but uh everyone was very friendly even though you know we we were older. (03:42) They were very accepting of very accepting of the old folks. Yeah. So you know thank you for that. Thank you for that pretending for making us feel welcome. Yeah, make us feel welcome. That’s always good. But it was a a fantastic show. It was completely created by themselves. They made a great It was almost two hours and they had a lot of acrobats. (04:01) Uh they had a lot of dancing. They had a lot of uh singing. They had musicians. So essentially it was a old like the old variety shows. So they had uh they had they had a rig set up where uh I don’t know what it’s called, but this woman sort of wraps herself in a net and then kind of climbs up and you guys know when you do yogurt yogurt yogurt. (04:24) When you do yogurt, you start to spiral. You do yoga. Yoga uh with all the silks and the the scarves and all. You know, kind of impressive. Yeah, very impressive. I just don’t know what they call it. And then they had a uh a couple that were on uh a trapeze and they they were quite wonderful, too. Very acrobatic. (04:45) Uh very interesting. They had uh guitar player. They had u some pole girls uh spinning around around very impressive. Tremendous upper arm strength. And then basically dancers. They had a number of dancers. That’s where the pasties came from. And uh dancing. Really hard for you. What? It was really hard for you and and Mike to watch the pasties. Yeah, I know. (05:11) I know. Pasties anger me. Not really. So anyway, that they uh all very talented people kind of strung together by a matraee. She kind of had an ongoing uh ongoing thing where she would do some readings and talk and kind of interact with the audience I guess while the next Zach was getting ready and then they would come on. (05:33) So basically a traditional it was kind of like a mini it was like a mini circus sole. Yeah. Yeah. And here in Prescuit you wouldn’t think there’d be such a thing. There was It was well done, professionally executed. Yeah, it was like a mini, like I said, cirus here in Prescuit. Definitely an avanguard uh absolutely feel. (05:56) Uh you know, they had projection, things were projected on the wall and and beautiful. Yeah, it was it was uh really interesting. Really different. It was a good show. Yeah. And so we had a great time. I think we were the oldest people there, but hey, that’s okay. You know, we’re hip and happening. We’ll we’ll check it out and let everybody know. (06:13) Yeah, we had a good time. So, if you were living here in Prescat, I highly recommend check out the Fed. Check out the different shows. There’s always really interesting, cool things coming. We’ve got a whole vibe here of very, very, you know, artsy, fartsy, very intelligent young people who are very creative putting out some really nice works. (06:34) Creative avanguard kind of thing. Yeah. You wouldn’t expect it in a little western town, but but we got They’re there and they they were great. They were. So anyway, hats off to them. Thank you for the show. We had a wonderful time. Thanks Mike and Cheryl for telling us about it and we had a good time. We had a great time. (06:50) And also they gave out free succulents. Remember that? Yeah. We got succulent. They had a chick with a instead of cocktails in her hoop, she had little baby succulents. Little baby succulents. There was a lady there just sort of randomly painting the whole time. I didn’t understand what that was, but okay. (07:08) Everyone was kind of going watching her work, you know. As I said, avant guard, you know, but we we enjoyed it. But we did it. So anyway, so if you’re coming here to Prescuit, keep your ears open and try some of this stuff. It’s actually pretty cool. Yeah, you’d be amazed at what’s here. Absolutely. hello hello hello hello peeps diane and Randall Bro here coming to you live from beautiful Prescuit she’s the Prescuit pickle lady i’m her sidekick yes i thought you were gonna say you’re my son i was like wait what i just heard a and I was like wait wait wait what no I’m not not the son no no I don’t that would be miraculous right so anyway we are here uh enjoying this beautiful spring day and we’re here to talk about our crazy year without winter yes so we are now in spring uh so spring is officially over uh people are running out to uh to (00:42) buy plants and everything still a little early for that uh the rule is the rule you never plant anything until Mother’s Day right that’s right until after Mother’s Day even though the the temperature is perfect it’s beautiful um you know your blood’s warming up you’re feeling good don’t fall into that trap because we always have one more little cold snap or one little light snow even beginning of May but it may not happen because this year was an exceptionally dry snowfree winter yes very bizarre so I think there were (01:19) maybe four or five snows maybe four snow not even that much i don’t think we missed two of them we were out of town in I guess it was late January early February and we had a little snow we missed it completely by the time we got back it was all completely gone and then we went out of town again when was that i don’t remember but we we missed two snowfalls two snowfalls and then uh we got back and I want to say a week or two later we had we had we had one more little dust they said they just had three snows three you know reasonable (01:54) snows yeah um where the snow actually stuck little bit i think we had like an inch or two nothing major yeah gone within hours you know it was kind of pretty yeah yeah just enough to be beautiful and then of course by 2:00 it was all gone yeah highly unusual though for us to go that you know have a winter and only have two or three snows very strange usually we have one um every 3 weeks so it’s kind of strange yeah yeah very little precipitation very little precipitation i think we’re starting to catch up for lost time we get most of (02:28) our precipitation in uh July August when the monsoons start right uh but we’re starting to get it now the same thing happened last year the the rains came a bit early uh so I don’t know i guess people are stirring the pot and the weather is changing but it was it was odd yeah i myself love a nice chilly willy cold winter i love snow days it reminds me of being back home in the south when we would have hurricane days hurricane days yeah i like a good little snowfall where everybody has to stay home no traveling love that drink coffee (03:01) drink coffee but unfortunately really didn’t happen too much this year so uh we’re a little low on water but hopefully we’ll have a pretty healthy monsoon season we shall see so when you’re thinking about our town and you’re like “Oh they get a lot of snow in the winter.” Really not so really not so um this year exceptionally not so we we really did not have hardly Yeah hardly any snow so it was it was just chilly so I asked artificial intelligence what major city could I compare Prescuit to so people get an idea of what (03:36) winter’s are like and she because the voice is female she says Denver’s a good uh good comparison only because it’s dry now Denver gets a lot more snow than we say yeah not nearly that cold that girl’s wrong yeah we we I think we get about a foot of snow a year and they get I don’t know like six 60 inch like was that five feet way more yeah a lot more snow than AI chick was wrong but she said “Well it’s it’s a lot of sun it’s not overcast. (04:08) ” And that’s true denver’s nice and sunny during the winter so is Prescuit and it’s dry it’s not damp and cold uh usually not so and Denver is nice and dry um so uh not that harsh i don’t think our winters are as windy as Denver but there you go if you’re familiar with kind of what it’s like in Denver during the summer I mean during the winter uh that’s similar to Prescuit so if you were thinking I wonder how Prescuit is like during this during the winter well you should know this was uh a strange one yeah um sometimes we even have a first snowfall Thanksgiving maybe (04:40) one at Christmas none of that i think we were well into maybe towards the end of January end of January if I recall before we got any snow so um it’s not crazy here it’s not blizzards it’s not you know you’re not snowbound it’s just enough and this year was exceptionally yep uh nice if you’re not a fan of snow yep uh you would have made it you would have loved it it was great yeah we went through the trouble of leaving town uh we went down to Mexico we went over to Florida and um not not well we did miss the the first the little snows that were (05:17) here but uh yeah not a not a winter you really had to do a whole lot of escaping so uh we’re hoping we get our precipitation up and we get some good monsoons fill up our reservoirs and uh life will be good again it’s been a little dry so we’re looking forward to a little moisture but just wanted to tell you it was kind of a year without winter year without winter what is it in Game of Thrones what do they call it uh I don’t know you know that saying the winter’s coming well yeah we didn’t have it so winter did not come here (05:49) there you go winter’s coming not not impressed not so much yeah maybe next year yeah no zombies either no zombies well that’s another that’s another show yeah that’s another show no zombies i mean there are some older people but yeah they could pass but technically they’re not the undead so they’re not really zombies true all right anyway uh we hope to see you this spring and summer so that you’ll be moved here so you can maybe enjoy a year with winter yes coming up yes we have a little time to go with that but anyway (06:26) hope to see you then and uh come visit us soon we’d love to show you around and show you what our town is all about absolutely all right i hope to hear from you and you can check us out at Oh that’s our free information site uh pickle411.com whether you’re a buyer seller or somewhere in between there’ll be something there waiting for you that will amaze astound educate and entertain there you go there’s that fourth adjective i always look entertain well maybe and it’s It will only cost you 20 bucks no it won’t no it won’t it’s (06:59) absolutely free absolutely free all right friends hope to hear from you soon and hope you have a fantastic day bye bye
We’ve all been there; you’re driving along at 30 mph and all of a sudden you’re getting pulled over for speeding in a 25 mph zone…a speed set for a neighborhood that hasn’t even been built yet! Join us this week to learn which towns have the most speed traps and how to avoid getting that ticket.
bonjour Hello Hello Meami This is Diana Randall Bro your friendly pickle team your friendly realtor husband and wife team here in Prescuit Arizona And we are here to talk to you about crazy things that uh some of the areas here that have speed traps So yeah Yeah If you’re visiting or if you live here now and you’re trying we’re going to help you out cuz we just got caught in one of them Yeah not happy about it Yeah You know there there are speed traps and there are speed traps You know sometimes speed trap is in a (00:35) place where it’s a valuable thing Yeah it can be a valuable thing It really depends on the speed and the trap So uh I drive like a paw paw My my wife is constantly saying “What a pawpaw.” I can vouch for this It just I drive a lot though I’m on the road driving quite a bit and uh usually once every five years or so I will get a speeding ticket and it’s always some uh bogus thing It’s bogus Now I am a little more daring I drive a little faster a lot faster I never get tickets Never get tickets But this one Mr Kosh (01:12) is here No it’s just cuz I drive more than you do I drive a lot more than Grandpa here Grandpa gets more tickets It’ll be you know like three One time it was 3:00 in the morning Yep And I was kind of lost and all the streets were saying no left turn no left turn And uh I took or or they were all oneway streets or something and I think I took a right on a on a red light or something You’re getting mired down in the Well I mean the point is that was bogus There was no one else on the street Cops there just giving everyone who passes by a (01:44) ticket trying to get his his uh quota That to me that’s a speed trap That’s so what we’re here to talk to you about is the speed traps here in Presc Now if you’re if you’re speeding and you’re being reckless the police give you a ticket you deserve it You deserve it And if I’m doing that I deserve it too I have no problem Absolutely These are the spots where technically it’s 25 miles an hour because one day in the future they will have homes here but there are no homes now and it feels like 45 is more appropriate That’s where they’ll take it (02:14) That’s where they gave So that would be on roster That roster Roger between um between 89 and Willow Creek Uh there are some areas there where there are a lot of homes and yeah you pretty much have to go 25 or lower When they say 25 they mean 25 They don’t mean 35 They don’t mean 40 And sometimes when you go it’s a little longer of a bit of a stretch and all of a sudden you don’t even realize that your speed has gone up Yeah And then bam that’s where they get you because they’re hiding And they’re hiding you hiding at the bottom of a (02:46) hill and and they’re hiding in a section where there are no homes for a big long stretch Yes And they were too lazy to make it you know 35 there and plus they would have no place for a speed trap So they sit there waiting for you and they give you bogus tickets So I got one there Yes we did Uh there’s one in what’s called the Yavapai connector and that is through tribe land and it’s the tribe police that will give you a ticket there They want you to go slow Everyone kind of knows they want you to go slow It’s not really a speed trap that if (03:20) they see you speeding they’ll come get you Uh is it ridiculously low yeah it’s ridiculously low And this is where they get you on that road And that’s between 89 and 69 It’s the connector Yeah Um they some sections will say 25 and then the next section a small section will say 35 and then it’s down to 25 Yeah And it is just nothing but desolate land I mean there’s truly nothing there so low Yeah Yeah It’s very easy to kind of pick up speed and zap They’ll get you So we’ve had a number of friends say stop driving so slow Just pick up (03:57) the speed No When I tell you not to do it don’t do it cuz you will get caught and you will get a good ticket But the speed trap of all speed traps Oh yes Is this is the town of Clarkdale Yep So he hasn’t gotten over it yet Yeah It’s really tick We’re working on it Now there are towns like that in every state There’s uh Elgen I think in Texas uh every state you know there’s some towns that’s the the um majority of their revenue comes from bogus uh traffic tickets Well Clarkdale is like that Clark if you go over the Mingus (04:34) Mountains through Jerome on your way to say Sedona When you get down on the other side that’s Clarkdale And they have it’s there’s not a lot out there Um there was a section we were going through It was a a speed It was a uh traffic circle And as soon as you get off the traffic circle it’s 25 miles an hour You go from 45 to 25 even though you haven’t hit any homes yet And you’re coming off of a hill So of course your speed is a little higher because you’re going down and you hit that traffic circle Boom And they’re there waiting (05:08) for you I as soon as I had exited the traffic circle he was he got me They just wait So it was just a complete trap happened to be two days before Christmas on my way to spend money on a bogus uh Santa train Don’t do that either Uh $500 for an an hour train ride was just kind of stupid But anyway now so Clarkdale did you get the idea that you ticked me off don’t go to Clarkdale They spend they a lot of their uh money comes from uh tourism which is wonderful uh but not you can’t have a tourist based economy and do a lot of speed traps The other (05:44) thing is instead of being able just to pay your ticket online and mail it in No you have to go have to actually go there to to give them your credit card in person Uh there’s no judge to say “Hey can we talk about this let’s talk it through.” No just a receptionist Let’s be friends Let’s let’s let’s let’s come to a consensus here Nope It’s simply give us your money and pay the fee Um you couldn’t do anything online and you couldn’t even mail it in You had to go drive all the way down there again and hope you wouldn’t get another ticket and (06:13) another speed trap So now when we go through Clock Dial it will always be 25 miles an hour So if you’re behind us stop blowing your horn flashing your lights been there done that and we don’t care to repeat the mistake Yeah So if you’re in any of those areas um be cautious be aware They’re not kidding around And we just want to save you from the hell that we just went through If you know of any other uh speed traps in the state uh particularly those around the Prescat area send them to us We’ll post them for you so uh you’ll know (06:47) about them in advance It’s important to know especially if you’re new to the area Yeah Ruin your whole day It will And it makes your you know rates go up and or and or you have to do defensive driving and everybody knows that ain’t fun No I’ve done that enough I’m not doing that Nope Nope Nope So anyway just kind of wanted to share that with you and um hope that we can help you avoid future tickets Absolutely You can thank us later You’re welcome All right Thank you for listening and if you have any questions if you’d like to reach out to (07:18) us get in touch You can reach us at pickle411.com That’s our free hello hello hello hello peeps uh happy to say hello to all of our fellow pickle peeps out there this is Diana Randall bro she’s pickle lady I am and I’m coming to you live from our beautiful little mountain BG yeah isn’t that a cute name ber yeah also town here in the mountains of Prescot Arizona say studio for our studio well we also are studio in the bur we also are in our special studio in the bur it’s a Burg Studio we have our own Green Room in our house that where we shoot all this great stuff for you guys that’s right so uh something we (00:38) wanted to talk to you about quite serious is fire preparedness fire preparedness um obviously this is a topic that’s very important uh and to a lot of folks out there especially those poor uh Souls out in California who have been subjected to the terrible tragedy of all the fires out there yeah absolutely now now we’ve talked about fire before fire preparedness prevention uh the firefighters we we’ve talked about fire a lot we get a lot of questions about fire I guess for obvious reasons (01:10) but we thought important it’s important we thought we just reiterate just because now fire is kind of top of mine so we thought we just uh recap some of the stuff that we’ve set before definitely so one good thing about our little town is uh we are very uh Progressive in treatment of potential fire risk and things like that proactive we are extremely proactive Progressive has come to mean a whole lot of things so well true well you know everything has come to mean a whole lot of other things you (01:40) know what I mean we are we are in other words we’re on the ball we’re proactive uh we don’t fool around our budget is there uh it’s never cut no um we stick to the budget we our mayor’s great about making sure the the policies are in place and follow through more importantly um so we have never we’ve lived here what eight and a half years yeah never ever have we even come close nor have we been required to evacuate uh because of the preparedness that our town has in the preset is sort of firefighting Central it it really is so the a lot of the uh well most of the firefighting (02:26) capability comes out of preset so the the airport here is where they launch all the firefighting uh Aviation uh you’ll see when there’s a fire going on somewhere they planes taken off constantly they fight everything all the way up into Flagstaff all the way down into the valley close to Phoenix and everything in between uh so the firefighters this is where most of them live because this is where where they’re coming out of and so a lot of pride in fire firefighting fire prevention here very (03:00) much honor our firemen and appreciate all that they do so a lot of folks who move here and brand new will be especially in the spring sometimes in the fall they’ll say oh there’s a fire there’s a fire it is just uh control burns control burns thank you you took the words right out of my mouth control burns it’s just control burns which is believe control burns here now in some areas uh you know people don’t like control burns or raking the undergrowth or whatever uh because they want to be natural what you need to understand is nature has a way of removing the undergrowth (03:35) it’s called fire right uh it’s very natural for fires to occur uh very natural for Forest to burn it’s been going on for thousands millions of years uh you know the the homes that burn in California from Nature’s point of view that’s just undergrowth right it’s just but that’s what nature does so if you don’t want homes to burn um you can’t go 100% now natural you you have to manage the forest and so we are very good about managing all of that um and so we will have these prescribed Burns do not panic every now and then if you see some black clouds and smoke it is our (04:14) fire department doing their job and protecting our little town um also we have two reservoirs here Watson Lake and Willow Lake and they are never run dry no uh they’re always pretty full and that is where a lot of our water is pull cold during during the firefighting so you’ll see like the big Chinook helicopters hovering over Willow Lake sucking water up it’s kind of cool it’s kind of cool watch it’s actually kind of cool to watch uh the process in place so you never have to worry very rarely uh unless we just don’t have a lot of rain or snowfall does it really get super low (04:50) um it’s pretty uh pumped up and active you know so it’s it’s all good we have good water source to fight fires yeah the other good thing here is our fire department ments are always open ready willing able give them a call they’ll come to your home and tell you how to protect your own home and how to be in the best firewise position so they’ll come out and tell you this tree has to go too close to the house they’ll give you the parameters they’ll walk you through it free of charge so it’s (05:22) a great program and everyone should utilize it especially if you’re living closer to some of the trees and things like that they’re happy to do it it’s part of their job willing to do it and everyone should really take advantage of it the other thing you should be aware of is so far so good we have not had a lot of um cancellations for fire Insurance here we are not required to have separate fire insurance as in other areas um yet so so far so good you don’t have to carry a separate fire Insurance uh there might be especially after what’s happening California (06:01) maybe some changes in rates but so far so good for people living here I mean nothing has changed here so yes and the fire insurance if you want it it is available right um most of the fires that our guys are putting out here in Prescot or in the forests in the mountains and stuff like that it you know basically never gets close to the city proper no and when there are fires within the city itself they are on it and immediately immediately so uh living here eight and a half years never had to (06:34) be evacuated never even came close thank goodness so uh just wanted to share that with you guys if you’re very concerned about the safety of our little town here and fires you pretty much are are are going to be okay um so nothing to number a number of people displaced looking for a place to go uh other people are kind of opting out and looking for a place to go we know you don’t want to go from fires to fires absolutely so just want to make it clear that you won’t have those kind of problems we don’t have those issues here and uh we’re on it we’re on it people um any of the fires (07:13) that you have heard about in Arizona usually from our town are about an hour out yeah there really are in desolate desolate areas far away and maybe it’s from a lightning strike or spark or something like that um but they’re right on it and take care of of it have never had major issues in the town proper so if you are concerned about that and wondering where can I land next where should I go we just wanted to let everyone out there know give you peace of mind if you come here you’re going (07:46) to be okay we’re we’re we’re on it and so to all of our folks out in California our hearts go out to you uh we wish you nothing but the best as you try to rebuild and we hope the best for all of you and uh anyway we just wanted to give you a big virtual hug wherever you are and uh we hope that uh you land on your feet soon so this is Rand and Dian bro coming to you here from Prescot Arizona if you need anything you can refer to our website yeah best place to go is pickle 411.com that is (08:20) our free information site whether you are a buyer seller or somewhere in between there’s something there that’s waiting for you that will Amaze Astound entertain and in form there you go so come see us come see what we’re all about take care and have a great rest of your day bye bye
If you want to avoid losing time on the market with a home that won’t sell due to the price not reflecting the market, then tune into this week’s episode! We have ways to help everyone avoid getting screwed (by the market)!
hello hello hello hello peeps we’re so excited to be here today absolutely coming to you from our wonderful quaint little town Prescot Arizona she’s presc pickle lady that’s me I’m her sidekick s girkin that’s right this is Diane and Randall bro uh so we wanted to talk to you about it’s kind of a kind of a disappointing thing that happens occasionally yeah it’s happened two or three times now it is a shall we say pattern or dynamic between listing agents and their clients the sellers we’ve seen this this same pattern of of (00:42) uh Behavior or whatever before and we just want to call it out make people consciously aware of it because I think a lot of people do this to their listing agents without really thinking it through and they don’t think things through so the the most important thing is if you’ve only been in the market with an agent for maybe two months and uh you haven’t quite gotten your offer and we talk about price well maybe we need to readjust price maybe what is your bottom line and if you stick firm to that bottom line um it makes it very (01:11) difficult particularly if you get a good cash offer to meet those requirements and make it happen so what happens is you get frustrated we get frustrated and then all of a sudden well we’re just going to move it on to somebody else we’re going to list with somebody else because we’ll we’ll get it you know we’ll make it happen so the unfortunate thing about that is you lose time on Market because then the new agent has to come in has to retake all of the pictures has to start the whole process all over again so you’re going to lose (01:40) about a month of Market time all because in essence you don’t want to admit that you were wrong about the price so this latest time we had a couple they wanted to sell their home for 1.1 million that was kind of their Break Even uh honestly the market would not support that we told them that we said you probably should yeah you probably should be selling more like a million maybe a million 50 but we are willing to do what you want at least temporarily and here’s part of the con you know the seller will say we’re in no (02:15) hurry yes uh we have plenty of money we’re willing to stick it out to get top dollar yep and then okay I you know I’ve met very few sellers who’ve told me otherwise we’re we’re ready there is no such thing as a patient seller you get into the situation and it’s annoying and you want it to be over as a very stressful time when you’re listen and I think everyone thinks my house is fantastic and it’s going to sell within a day it’s not covid times anymore folks yeah um there aren’t the biddy Moors anymore it and we don’t we don’t want to (02:50) be right no okay we would love to be able to wave our hands and change the situation for you we’re just telling you it is we have no vested interest in it being the way it is it’s just the way it is yeah and sometimes we had videos on this before sometimes you can find stupid money in the short term and we’re perfectly willing to try that for a few weeks and see if we can do that for you uh but you know in this particular case uh we actually got an offer around a million which is where we thought it a little bit over sellers refused to (03:27) accept it uh waited all of like three weeks uh this was like during the Christmas season where there are no showings anyway and call to tell us that well you’ve been fired we found another agent that we think can help us and then we found out well we’re going to list with her for million doll actually yes so had they accepted the first offer we were trying valiantly to they said millionar was there bottom line period end of sentence bottom line okay fine we made this deal happen for a million that offer decided it’s still a little too (04:04) much uh we want to walk too many upgrades for this house we’re walking okay well now they did not like the answer so they went on with this other agent who listed below a million yeah and they lost a month on the market and lost good quality times now here’s the thing all basically because they didn’t want to admit oh I was wrong well any but if they had just said look let’s just go a little under a million we would have been done in at by Thanksgiving oh yeah it would have been closed it would have been finished it (04:38) would have been um but they were determined to make that million doll Mark now they’re listed below a million so they’ll never get it they’ll never get it after commissions and after everything else they’re really going to be clearing you know scraping so the thing is trust your agents hang in there with your agents well first of all know you can trust absolutely and then trust them yes yeah so we’re happy if you want to try for a top dollar fine let’s try it let’s try it we’ll try it for a couple of weeks if we’re not getting there (05:11) we’ll lower the price where we thought it should have been you know in the first place we’re always willing to give you some leeway give you some opportunity but after a while we you know we need to just kind of reflect the market and move where we need to go and then close so if these you know people had just hung in there and said you know what it’s okay let’s just close it under a million will be done they would have been done months ago now it’s still on the market still on the market still hasn’t sold yeah as I said before we (05:42) have no particular vested interest at any particular price point yeah you know most people believe that real estate agents just want to price the things so low that it’s easy to sell so they can move on to the next sale maybe that’s true of some agents out there H it’s certainly not true of us it is not unusual at all for us to tell the seller your price expectations are too low we had a really good really good friend they they wanted to list the prices so how much you want to list it for and he says I don’t know 800 and we’re like 800 (06:13) he said yeah what’s wrong I said no we’re going to sell you a house for like a million dollars it’s based on the market you know it’s it’s is what it is and we want to tell you what it is we we don’t have any vested interest way we are truly looking out for your best interest trying to get you the most money in your pocket and we’ll try it your way if it doesn’t happen please listen to what we’re trying to suggest and adjust accordingly because nobody wants to be on the market this six months yeah this is like the second or (06:44) third time third time at least I can think of at least two other where so listen Toom and D instead of just lowering the price with us they fire us and go to another agent and then they price it where we told them they it’s like it’s nonsensical why did you do that you know it’s not logical it’s not logical and it’s very bad business for you you know um so we want to help you get a good price get a fair price get it sold get it done quickly and again this other home had just said we’ll go a little bit under a million they would (07:16) have been done by Thanksgiving yeah so now here we are in February and it’s still and we are not the kind of people that tell you I told you so told you so although you might think this video is yeah not it’s not I’m just saying this there is this Dynamic and you should just I’m calling it out because I think everyone who’s done this to us has done it without really thinking it through right you know it’s an irrational response and they’re doing it irrationally and not really thinking it and we totally get the stress you’re under the time (07:51) constraints it’s just not a pleasant process to sell your home it really isn’t um another thing you should also know the higher the price point these homes this is not a California Market where these homes will be snatched up in a day or two yeah we take the higher the price you know might take three or four months to get a really decent offer yeah so you have to be patient and buy your time and then we’ll get a good quality buyer ready to close and it’ll be a nice seamless transaction so take a deep breath trust in your agents don’t lose (08:27) time on the market by shopping around and now I’ll try this one oh wait now I’ll try this one no now I’ll try this one it’s really you’re going to be shooting yourself in the foot in the long run so that’s our little tips to you little tips of the day to our fellow uh listings to be that’s right and if you’re thinking about listing your home um just try to be calm cool and collected and uh let us guide you in the best way we can and get you to the Finish Line Okay so that’s our tip of the day this is Diane and Randall bro (09:02) coming to you from beautiful Prescot Arizona you Ever wonder what it would be like to start over? What if you retired to a place where people know you for you, and not for your past? A community where you can have peace! Find out in today’s episode why we call Prescott the witness protection program.
good morning morning top of the morning to all of our friends and family out there yes I’m Randall with the Pres pickle lady Diane bro that’s me um we are your local Friendly husband and wife Team Real Estate team with exp realy and we’re happy to uh join you again and kind of give you some something that we found since we’ve moved here yeah it just goes toward the kind of folks that you meet here that’s right so we were talking with a good friend of our shout out to Bob Bob Karen yeah Charlie Kathy friends fun to travel with traveling friends for fun fun traveling (00:41) friends fun traveling friends just good friends in general um anyway they also mov to Prescot as we did we all kind of came about the same time uh we all came here no friends no family they have become our substitute family that’s right and support system that’s right and they are great uh just very relaxed people love you guys peace out so one of the terms that Bob threw out which I thought was hysterical and sort of summarizes the whole thing is he said uh preset is a bit like a witness protection program right so when you come here nobody knows who you are and nobody kind of (01:21) really wants to know your background no uh so it’s almost like everyone in town is a a witness being protected yes uh in particular if you spend time on the golf course nobody wants to hear what a no big time surgeon you were you were CEO of that or founder of this or any of that kind of stuff most people uh including our our uh fun traveling friends are all very accomplished people and people just H you they’re retired and that phase is over and nobody R it’s very very refreshing yeah very refeshing we live in Prescot Lakes uh we’re surrounded by a lot of golfers retired Folk (02:00) unfortunately we are not but we get to spend quality time with them and have a good time uh sometimes we get to travel with them and one thing that has struck both of us is that these folks have been at the top they are you know top CEOs they are like he said Top Doctors top the tops in their profession they have come here for Peace Quiet relaxation and they come here and retire and they don’t want to talk about that stuff anymore and what we find so nice and so refreshing there are no games here people don’t want to it’s not bragging on the golf course like there’s (02:37) no Keeping Up With A Jones no keeping up with the Joneses everybody’s chill they’re like you know what been there done that we’re just delighted to be here we have good health we’re living in a beautiful beautiful town and this is what we work for all of our lives and so it’s kind of like you know nobody ask what did you do what were you are you important nobody cares nobody cares yeah what they really want to know is do you want a glass of wine yeah which club do you want which club do you want um what and then it’s it always strikes me as we do get to know people (03:12) uh more intimately it’s like oh wow yeah really it’s not uncommon at all you’re having a having a conversation with somebody and you and for whatever reason something they did comes up and you’re like oh my god wow you’re like wow this person was a big deal big deal and uh you know and everyone SE you know nobody’s flaunting wealth or anything else unassuming it’s very unassuming and that’s is pres most of the guys we know are in presc legs presc Lakes is that way there may be some other I I mean we can’t speak for the whole town there may be (03:43) some other areas or some certain people that are snoody uh most people that we have coming in are looking for the opposite and if that’s the case if that’s how you describe yourself then you’re going to have a lot to choose from right so it’s important to know that when you come here just relax relx yeah you worked hard you deserve a good life and Prescot will give that to you you don’t need to keep playing the games and you know talking about work I mean I mean we have to because we’re still working and thank you to our friends who listen to us because sometimes (04:18) they’re like okay kind of like therapists yeah they’re are therapists but they also give us a lot of good Insight having been there done that so we value that very much but for the most part it is truly just beautiful re retirement you can enjoy you know the spoils of your you know labors labors and uh this is your time come here have fun there’s no games here just chill have fun meet some great people play some good golf pickle ball yeah um exercise have some great glasses of wine at the club or wherever um and we love that so it’s kind of like when you come here (04:56) park that prior life put that over here yeah and end enter joyfully gleefully happily yeah you don’t have to talk your way into the door into the witness protection program you’ll love it you’ll love it it’s so freeing and liberating and uh so we have learned a lot from our friends uh Bob and Charlie Kathy and Karen thank you for sharing and giving us hope for when we get there that’s right one day uh we too can have all the fun that they’re having and uh just enjoy life so when you’re thinking about a retirement place and you want to just come someplace and be chill (05:36) this is the place for you in particular Prescot Lakes we have found lovely lovely lovely people very accomplished folks but no need to talk about it they don’t need to brag they’re cool they’re calm cool and collected collected they’re comfortable with where they are and they’re enjoying everything they’ve worked so hard for over the years so if you’re thinking about a nice town where you can just chill and maybe you want to join the witness protection program here we are and we’re happy to take you around and find that perfect place and introduce you int oh (06:11) I lost my word introduce you to some great friends absolutely so anyway we hope that you will contact us soon we’d love to take you around and uh show Tired of seeing your next door neighbor’s bathroom through your window? We have the solution for you in this week’s episode. We give you tips for maintaining your privacy while keeping that natural light shining through your window.
hello hello hello hello peeps good morning to you this is r and Dian bro coming to you from presca Arizona she’s presca picol I am and we are some friendly helpful realtor team here in town that are happy to help you and pass on all kinds of advice and words of wisdom that’s right so the wisdom today is about window film window film now this is something we just did um our home is pretty close to another home and when I stand at the kitchen sink I’m so tired of looking at my neighbor’s roof and the side of his house it’s just not (00:43) a great view um same thing in the dining area so we’ve talked about it we’ve talked about it what can we do I’ve hung huge pieces of window um stain glass and that’s fine but it’s still not quite blocking that boring view so then we thought well let’s just replace the windows and then I got the price because I thought I’ll replace the windows with privacy glass and then I was like no that’s a lot of money so then how much was that that was like $2,000 to replace two windows yeah so then somebody said why don’t you get window film now I’m (01:20) not a fan of tinting windows some people are it’s not for me because it makes the house too dark in my opinion um yes it does protect your carpeting your rugs your furniture from getting Su damage but I don’t care about that I just don’t like my house to be dark I like bright sunshine in there well these two windows in particular don’t have direct sun shine right through either so so but the other solution is besides tinting is to do window film window film and film this film comes in all kinds of styles and (01:51) and um just design frosting oh yeah I mean rain glass and it it provides great great privacy but still allows a lot of sunshine to come through um but then it also blocks any gross views so I don’t see the roof anymore I just see kind of the cool pattern on my window I think I did rain I think I did rain and um it’s just enough it’s real popular and it was much cheaper I think it was $500 to do two giant Windows window so 1/4 the price and really you can’t tell you cannot tell at all can’t tell if it’s glass or it’s film but it’s really nice (02:33) so when people come in they don’t say oh my God your neighbor’s right there I see his roof it’s nice so um we just wanted to pass this tip on because I think it’s very helpful if you’re kind of close to other neighbors and you want some privacy but still want sunshine and uh investigate window film window film there’s all kinds of companies out there they don’t just do cars they’ll come and do your home yes and uh so instead of replacing glass or replacing windows which is way more expensive you can just get the film yeah and if you decide you (03:05) know later on you don’t like the rain glass anymore that’s right and you want to do frost or whatever you can remove the film and have new film put up there you go yeah so we love it and we were so excited and we just had it done and we can’t say enough good things about it that’s right so that we share with you yeah if you’re looking for some privacy don’t want to see your neighbors but don’t want to cover up your windows that’s the thing to do investigate window fil window film all kinds of designs that you can put up y (03:34) absolutely so highly recommend it it’s a very uh inexpensive way uh so really gives it a very upscale upscale feeling so if I ever go to sell my home in somebody comes in there chances are they will not notice that roof line right away yes um they’ll just say it’s good at blocking and if you look at the if you look at how much you have to invest versus the perceived value of a buyer one of the best investments you can make absolutely cheers to that there you go so we’re enjoying our window film our window film that is our tip of the day (04:09) if you like tips you go to pickle 411.com that’s our free information site whether you’re a buyer seller somewhere in between there’ll be something there waiting for you that will Amaze Astound educate and inform entertain and inform entertain there you go all those things Dem kicking lots and lots of good things can’t remember my four words there you go and it’s it’s only $20 no it’s not it’s free it’s free it’s from our heart to yours our heart to yours happy to share happy to share okay bye have a good day”

It may be the season to deck the halls, but maybe not if it’s a do-it-yourself job. As the horror stories we share in this episode show, putting up a deck can be a lot harder than it seems – and even downright dangerous. Come join the fun!
hello hello hello hello peeps Happy fall and holiday season yeah getting into December now this is Diana Randle bro coming to you live from our beautiful festive town of presc Arizona Arizona she’s the presca pickle lady that’s right so we are decorated if you haven’t heard Prescot is called Arizona’s Christmas city and that’s for a good reason it’s beautiful you should definitely make a trip during the holiday season yeah absolutely Christmas through January and come see all the lights and all that good stuff and this (00:38) this is tying in believe it or not to our topic of today which is do-it-yourself decks do it-yourself decks so I would never try to build a deck I’m not a handy person if I put together a deck it would kill people mhm but there are people out there who think they know how to put a deck together Ian you look at a deck it doesn’t look very complicated you know so people think well I can build a deck I can build a deck you might want to think Twi you really can’t we love our deck yeah we love our deck We Love Our Deck and as I (01:14) was saying we’re talking about the Christmas lights we just decorated all of our Deck with Christmas lights decks are wonderful decks are a great thing if a professionally Contra a professional contractor does the work that’s exactly right so a couple things you need to know first there a lot of regulations associated with decks like the space between the little what do you call them little posts or whatever that’s right yeah they can’t be too big can’t be too small uh but the big thing is in the horror story we heard from Matt our (01:46) inspector shout out to Matt shout out to Matt best inspector ever best inspector ever he was inspecting a home that had a homemade deck and it was on a manufactured home oh and the guy who built deck attached it to the wall of the manufactured home oh decks weigh a lot they weigh a lot where is this going not good I destroyed the house yeah I completely undermined all of the uh what are the the boards or whatever the the uh railings the oh the I can’t think of the something with an R that’s how much we know about building we don’t know (02:25) about building not good to attach a deck onto a manufa Jo and all that were uh kind of pulled the wall off well it it it undermined the so the the support structure under the house was undermined and twisted and the joists were falling out oh uh so not only did Matt not approve the house but he said uh you can’t enter this house until this is fixed because it is dangerous it could collapse at any minute and all the guy did was build a deck and attach it to his house decks are heavy you have to be very careful are heavy you got to be (02:59) really really care careful so especially a two story if you’re up on the second level doing a deck I mean then there’s even more you know the the beams underneath have to be a certain width and dimension and with part don’t second don’t guess that on your own believe me you have to have a professional it looks easy it’s it’s a lot it’s a lot of weight and when you’re dealing with that much wood uh you could kill yourself easily people will put uh stucco around like the you know make it look nice or whatever oh yeah and water Gets behind (03:32) it destroys the wood and suddenly the deck collapses if it’s connected to your house your house collapses yeah you you you need to know you really need to know what you’re doing you need to have a licensed general contractor um who knows what he’s doing understands a debt contractor contract and they’re out there you just they’re out there and they’re not that much money and uh if you build it yourself and then you it comes time to sell your home uh there’s a really good chance the inspector is g to find something wrong with it very (04:05) expensive to fix and it can undermine other aspects of your home yes so don’t fool around with it uh you get what you pay for so if you do it yourself and you’re trying to cheap out and and make it as as reasonable as possible chances are you’re either going to kill yourself or a guest that’s exactly or your house so uh just let the professionals handle it ex it’ll be perfect and you’ll have a great time and many years of enjoyment that’s right decks are a great great addition to a home yes they are they add (04:35) a lot of value a lot they add a lot of value you will get your money back out of your deck so we’re all about decks we’re all about decks the bigger the deck the better yeah you want a Big Deck that’s what they say nobody wants a small deck that’s what I’ve heard yeah so but don’t build your deck yourself yes I could make so many good jokes right now but but yeah so decks definitely add value so it is worth the investment you will get it back on resale provided it’s done correctly and professionally um and also I wouldn’t (05:12) even do wood on the deck I would do um what’s the concrete no the flooring not the flooring oh oh not wood you want uh tracks tracks yeah there you go I knew he would get it TRS yeah you absolutely need TRS for sure so just spend a little bit of extra money you’ll get it back on resale and you’ll have many many years of enjoyment We Love Our Deck abolutely we have a great time sitting back there and absolutely talking to people and having a good time so all for decks just make sure it’s done correctly that’s it (05:46) and by a licensed contractor that’s our tip of the day if you like tips we got lots of free tips for you the place to go is pickle 411.com that is our free information site whether you’re a buyer or seller or somewhere in between they’ll be be something there waiting for you that will amaz astound and provoke into happiness and action and I don’t provoke yeah so yeah this is Randall and Dian bro here in Prescot happy to share our deck tips and info Deck the Halls baby Deck the Halls ho ho ho so hope you’re thinking about a deck and uh call us if (06:23) you have any questions about that or if you’d like us to find you a house with a great deck oh absolutely we’re here M happy to help you all right so just give a call to the friendly pickle lady that’s me and the fellow pickle pickle cohort cohort Co cohort cockle cockle right here happy to help you and uh anyway thank you for listening and we hope you have a beautiful rest of your day bye bye
Picture this – you want to sell your home and you want to sell it for a high price (why not? Let’s live a little). In this week’s episode, we give you the two possibilities when you list for the higher price. One takes luck and the other…may take a little work, but has a HIGH success rate. Either way these are hot tips you won’t want to miss!
hello hello hello peeps this is Randol and diam brro here your local she’s Diane she’s also the lady I am the pickle presc Arizona that’s right uh we are your local Friendly full service amazing customer service husband and wife real estate team that’s us that’s us also of other people too yeah I’m not married to any of them that’s right yeah so we wanted to talk to you about how to get more than uh how to get more than your home is worth there you go sellers tend to want to do that so why not we (00:39) all do right we all want the best we can get yeah I you know every now and then we come across a seller who thinks their home is worth less than than it really is right uh and I always love that they say no we’re going to sell your home actually it’s worth more than that yeah it’s worth much more than that you know I you always love to have those conversations but they’re relatively rare tend to think their children all brilliant and attractive and most aren’t you know same thing with uh with homes (01:08) that’s har yeah it’s just the way life is so uh so usually we try to uh we try to talk sellers we think that the best place to price your home is exactly where it’s worth so we will do the comps and everything we have to do a windown on how I do comps at some point that’s right we don’t like to underprice and especially don’t like to overprice guys Co is over yeah CO’s over you’re not going to get that money that you got in covid times yeah let go of that dream yeah uh but some people just (01:43) they just refuse either they have to get more money or you know it’s just a blow to their egos or something they have to get more money so we thought we might talk about what are the options available if you want to get more money from your home then it’s really worth yep and the easiest one to understand is what we call stupid money so stupid money is people who have buyers who have more money than cents typically they’ve just sold something in another state uh typically much more than what they’re buying here they’re (02:23) downsizing to go into retirement so they are flush with cash they’re used to negotiate prices of homes that are 2 million 3 million and then they’re coming here and now they’re looking at homes that are like 800 a million um so they’re used to talking about numbers that are really really high if your home is $100,000 priced $100,000 more than it’s really worth you get one of these guys to come in and their agent for whatever reason is out to lunch yeah it might just happen you might get lucky it (02:59) might get get somebody who comes in and says you know what you’re telling me it’s really worth $875 but I love it and it’s only 950 which to me is a bargain coming from where I’m coming from I’m not going to equival over $100,000 so it’s it’s yeah so occasionally you get lucky with a buyer flush with funds and they’re happy and they don’t mind and they feel like they’re still getting a deal yeah so you might get what we call stupid money they’ll come in and be like (03:26) I don’t care love it it feels good feels right and I could never get this where I lived before so yeah so it works out for everybody so if you’re GNA do the stupid money thing you need to be quick about it because if you overprice your home and it sits on the market a long time it’s going to get stale uh this Market relies heavily on Buyer Agents because most buyers aren’t here and when agents get tired of thinking about your home they won’t think about your home anymore yep not going to recommend it to clients it’s (04:02) hard to get your home back on their map right so you might want to try the stupid money thing for a couple of weeks not too long maybe a month and then if it doesn’t work then you can say major discount you know we’ve discounted $100,000 and then that will get agents interested again in your home uh we’ll be glad if if you’re listing your home with us we’d be glad to use that tactic with you to try to get you that um it is rare that but it does happen from time to time we’ve seen a it does it’s a nice (04:37) little surprise yeah so that’s and it works out for both parties everybody’s happy that’s the easy the easy one is stupid money the other one is not so easy and that’s really spending a lot of time and effort and some money to Stage the home beautifully staged homes always sell even when the market is really really bet they sell and they sell for good prices uh the money that you spend in staging you’re going to get back several fold uh the idea there is to create an emotional bond with the buyer (05:15) for your home and you’re not going to get that unless you stage it very very well uh staging will pay for itself in that regard again if you’re interested in doing something like that we can work with you to do that a lot you know obviously a lot more involved than just the stupid money thing those are the two ways that we know of that’s it I don’t know of another way to make that happen yeah I mean we can we we advertise heavily everywhere too but yeah that’s pretty much it so when you’re pricing if (05:48) you want to go over keep these two things in mind if you really want top dollar you might have to yeah you know uh hope for stupid money and or pay some money to have it staged so now that that message was really aimed at our sellers uh now if you are a buyer chances are you’re selling someplace else you can use these tactics wherever your home is now that and that’s fine if you’re our buyer coming in here to presc it rest assured you will not be stupid money we will tell you what it’s worth we run (06:20) numbers on’ll that we sell we make sure that it’s been Priced Right so Absolut you can rely on us to make sure that you will not be a victim because if you are and you move into your home your neighbors will laugh at you stop they will they will laugh at you they could they you know neighbors love to come over and say I think you paid too much for that house hey you paid too much for that house are you aware you paid too much for that house which I think is appallingly rude but you know uh hey this is society we (06:55) live in nowadays people love to tell you what they think you don’t want to be that guy do not so anyway just wanted to let you know keep that in mind if you want a price High you know these are two things you know that you have to kind of hope for or be aware of so anyway hope that this helps and we hope that you’re having a great day today and we hope to hear from you soon fall is a Looking for ways to feel more secure with your trust? In this week’s quick tip episode we give you the top way to protect you and your assets. Did we mention it’s FREE?
hello everyone hello peeps Welcome to our quick little next series that we want to chat with you about and Qui tip a quickie tip a quickie tip so we just did a video on insurance this has something to do with insurance but it’s a little different and I didn’t want it to get buried in uh because it’s very important a lot of our clients take possession of their homes as as a trust you know they have a trust set up and they put the property in the trust that’s a good idea uh talk to your estate planner or financial planner uh probably a good idea for most people (00:43) I would say at least half of the people that we’re dealing with will have a trust if you do that make sure your trust the name of the trust is in the insurance policy that you get it’s a beneficiary of the insurance policy of your homeowners yeah homeowners all that stuff yeah you did not know this you want to ensure your trust also for liability too uh the way it works legally a trust is kind of like a corporation it’s like a a it’s a legal entity almost like a person obviously it’s (01:21) not a person uh but imagine that a person owns your property and you took out an insurance policy uh that person would have to be on the policy to be insured your trust is the same way it’s free to put the name of your trust on your policy so when you’re dealing with buying insurance for your home liability insurance on your home make sure you talk to your uh insurance agent about your trust and putting the name on the trust good agents will ask you you might not have a good Agent or they might just forget if you end up with a claim and you’re not able to collect because of (02:02) an issue with uh something that you could have had done for free not so good so that’s our our quick tip of the day I did not know this it’s good to know yeah good to know good to know so ensure your trust folks with your homeowners yes all right it’s easy peasy yeah that’s our tip of the day tip of the day if you like tips the place to go is pickle 411. (02:25) com that’s our free information site where you will find something of interest to you whether you’re a buyer seller somewhere in between it will Amaze astound and uh Etc exasperate you uh to no end all absolutely free uh we do take tips no we don’t take tips uh but we give tips so if you’re into tips pickle 411c is the place to go place to go all right my friends have a great rest of your day take care bye bye
Flooding, fires, and earthquakes, oh my! With so many natural disasters happening, it’s overwhelming to figure out which home insurance you may need. Luckily we’re here to help! In this week’s episode, find out what you’ll need to protect your Prescott home.
hello hello hello beep good afternoon this is Diane and Randall bro geez pickle lady we’re in Prescot Arizona I am we are your friendly husband and wife realtor team today we’re being friendly yeah we’re being we’re friendly most of the time we we’re pretty friendly to each other from time to time we’re antagonistic but usually we’re quite friendly today we’re going to talk about insurance so this was By Request yes we get a fair number ofest for different subjects so a lot of people (00:32) are talking about insurance right now because it has become a major factor in homeownership absolutely especially we have family in New Orleans I know this affects a lot of people in California as well California Florida um so I guess the first thing to say is um you do not have to you were not required to have fire insurance or flood insurance in Prescot Arizona um we are not it’s not we’ve never even been evacuated here uh for threat of fire yes are there fires but usually they’re about an hour or two outside of town more the forest up in the mountain the (01:12) forest yeah not in presc well it might be within the Incorporated boundary of that is Prescot but prescot’s boundaries go up into the mountains they have some pretty obscure areas that are still considered preset so we have never in the town itself uh you are usually you’re not required to have fire insurance I know in other states it’s mandatory especially with all the wildfires happening um we do not have floods here there are some sections and I mean a very small percentage (01:45) that during monsoons might have a little bit of flash flooding um but those are more rural areas or you know smaller areas generally not the house I mean if you go into some a few neighborhoods there will be are that says Don’t drive here when there’s water right that’s because of monsoons they have surges of water that need to be uh uh gotten rid of very quickly that’s right and uh but not in homes uh and in all of our years of selling homes I can maybe think of one or two that FEMA (02:23) required them to have flood insurance because they were near ow Ling areas low Ling areas it’s very usual to find it um I’ve never so the majority of homes here you’re not required to have flood insurance um we’re a mile high so if it floods here then the arc should be coming yeah yeah start building Noah and his Arc are coming to save us all because if we ever get underwater we got a big problem going on it’s end of times basically so and getting back to the fire thing too you should (02:53) know that a big part of the firefighting effort in Arizona comes out of Prescot they fly out of the Regional Airport here uh so in the plains with the water go drop they go all that comes out of presc so the idea that there’s going to be a fire that’s uncontrollable in presc itself is very very remote never even come close nor have we ever had to been evacuated like nothing so I want you to feel safe and secure about that safe and secure about flooding don’t need to have earthquake insurance as well yes so but if you want to if you want to yeah if you want to you (03:32) can do it and it’s available it is absolutely uh we just changed our insurance recently to Travelers homeowners to Travelers and our Auto not an issue um we don’t have anybody pulling out it is getting a little dicey sometimes in some areas but in maybe other cities in Arizona but here we had absolutely no problem changing Insurance um our home is about 3,100 square feet and I want to say our homeowners is about 1,800 a year um but I added some extra stuff on there so it it probably (04:08) be a little bit cheaper depending on the size of your home and this that and the other now just to be clear we’re not speaking for the State of Arizona correct we are speaking for presc just pres so there are areas in Arizona where they do have fires down in the valley you know it gets to 120 degrees there in the summer they’re going to have fires yeah and they do and our firefighters FL you’ll see them flying out to go take care of it I can’t speak for those communities whether (04:35) fire insurance is available or how much it is or whether it’s required I honestly don’t know uh Arizona is a pretty big state now I do know like in certain areas in Louisiana some insurance companies are starting to pull out and they are cancelling people uh from what I have heard here it hasn’t happened here yet yeah I don’t expect it to for the most part that’s for her I don’t know if a hurricane has ever hit presc Arizona that would be a long shot but uh you should know if you are considering other communities uh moving to retire or otherwise (05:13) pretty much all along the Gulf of Mexico so that’s all along you know galvaston Houston Florida New Orleans all mobile all along the uh the Gulf Coast and then the Atlantic coast maybe even some of Texas too because they get a lot of lot of Florida this is an issue for lot car Georgia everything along the coast is starting to have trouble with uh hurricane because of the hurri and so the cost of insurance is going Skyhigh and so a lot of insurance companies are having to pull out is they simply can’t afford the claims to help people anymore so keep this all in mind (05:53) so far so good here in Prescot Arizona uh very reasonable we’ve been very happy haven’t had any issues and it’s uh coming from the Deep South it’s very nice not to have to have worry about flooding or hurricane and and yeah we just there was just a hurricane uh in New Orleans and we have just moved my mother from New Orleans to Prescot uh she’s uh staying in a community called touch Mark and uh just a few weeks after she got here there was a hurricane and she was pretty happy she didn’t have to evacuate no more worrying about that so so far so good folks (06:30) in terms of insurance here it’s pretty reasonable um you’re not required to carry all the extra ancillary Insurance such as earthquake flooding uh fire um which is pretty refreshing so um anyway uh this was a good question whoever asked us about that we’re happy to chat about it and let you know and reassure you that so far so good here uh nobody’s pulling out and you can still get very good coverage at a pretty decent price absolutely absolutely so that is our tip of the day about tip (07:02) of the day if you want if you have questions you want us to answer feel free to reach out to us and we’ll cover them uh that is our tip of the day if you like tips the place to go is pickle 411. (07:19) com that’s our free information site whether you a buyer seller or somewhere in between there’s something there waiting for you that will Amaze astound and educate you real estate things to do restaurants to go to and all kinds of foolish all kinds of foolishness happy it’s all there waiting for you happy to share it’ll only cost you $10 no it won’t it’s all free okay on that note we sincerely hope you’re having a great day today and we hope to hear from you soon make a visit fall is a beautiful time to come here we’d love to show you around okay take care bye
Every minute there seems to be a new crime report or a true crime documentary on a serial killer whose neighbors called him “a good guy and a great baker.” It’s scary! Check out today’s video to learn about the amazing tool that can alleviate these fears.
hello hello hello hello peeps Rand and diam bro Here I Am the pickle lady yeah she’s pickle lady I am he is the pickle man pickle man girkin girkin yeah whatever whatever whatever so we are here um something we’d really like to share with all potential future buyers it’s a good thing to do uh and check out when you’re doing your due diligence when you’re moving into especially most of our folks are moving from out of state they are not used to this area they don’t know anything about it so um (00:39) it’s very important to do a lot of due diligence figure out if you’re concerned about crime yes we can’t give you percentages we don’t know I mean I’m not I’m not in the police force yes but we have a great resource for you to check out called Community Crim map.com yes so you oddly enough it is a map of the crime in your community thereally what it is so you can get on there and it will tell you suppose you’re looking at Prescot Lakes I want to move to Prescot Lakes uh what’s the crime rate there is (01:11) there a lot of crime uh does it go over sex offenders and it does so so you choose yeah it will ask you if it’s okay for it to dial into your location if that’s where you want to do your search uh or you can give it a zip code or an address or something you can give it a radius you know I want to know about everything within five miles or whatever it is and you get to pick the crime the crime that you’re interested in so you know maybe you’re KCK your crime yeah maybe you’re a criminal you want to know (01:44) where to go uh or maybe you just want to be safe and you want to make sure there’s no crime around you whatever crimes concern you choose those yep and in the time for the location that you’ve chosen for the time frame that you’ve chosen it will show you a map and it will point out every incident u in your community can you do several at one time like can you say sex offenders murders suicide you can oh cool so you don’t have to keep doing individual that’s cool people you don’t have to do (02:14) individual searches you can do it all in one Fell Swoop yeah yeah what about banking crimes no I’m kidding I I I don’t know if they they had specific but they do had they did have arm robbery oh really yeah I mean it’s very specific I want to say and and I’ll I’ll give a give you guys a screenshot you can see what I’m talking about that’s great but I guess it was um maybe about 50 different uh checkboxes that you could do and uh so if you’re just looking for Vi violent crimes or you know maybe you (02:49) have you know bought a car and you’re worried that someone’s going to steal your car you might want just crime crime theft I mean car theft car theft uh so you can kind of dial in what you want uh long story short I I checked most of the boxes I did five years and I did the whole Prescot area including PV and there was almost nothing there were a couple of U domestic uh violence you know uh in in in a couple of residential areas so you know that’s it wasn’t us you know it’s like yeah well just one (03:22) just one of them was us the rest of them were other people you know that’s a joke folks yeah that’s a joke she only beats me when uh when the when the police aren’t looking so uh yeah so so it there was very little going on and what was there was clearly like within a home so if a family so this is important to know as well in the state of Arizona um it does not have to be disclosed if you are selling a home if there was a murder there or a suicide or a death um sellers do not have to disclose that that’s (03:57) right if they don’t share it with us the agents first of all we’ll never know if they do share it with us we do not have to I don’t know if we’re allowed to say we’re not allowed unless we are specifically asked speciically asked if a buyer ask us directly and we know the answer yeah then we have to you know but it’s not an automatic disclosure so you should know that when you’re coming here to buy I know in certain States like California it has to be it’s written up it’s it’s in the disclosures (04:30) and it’s shared with everyone not so in Arizona so this uh Community crime map would be a good thing for you to try to investigate if you were worried about something like that um we may not always be told ourselves not all sell share anything you know with us so um so it’s it’s a good resource it’s a great res particularly when you were first looking at a community you know you don’t know the community that to me would be one of the very first filters is let tell me about the crime absolutely I don’t know (05:02) if it tells you suicides I I’d have to think about that but certainly you know uh uh violent assault and you know assault and battery breaking and entering all that stuff was in there that’s sound a little now we’re getting heavy yeah but but none of it showed up there was just uh just one or two it’s a downer but well I mean it’s it’s a downer if it’s there but it was at least not here not the other thing on this is you may be thinking about moving and uh one of the first things you want (05:33) to know about a potential new community for yourself is the crime you don’t want to go someplace where there’s lots of crime sure and uh despite what the FBI says you know crime I people’s the impression people have and most of the people I talk to crime’s kind of On The Rise um you know there’ve been uh uh police uh departments have been underfunded defunded you know there there’s a lot of stuff going on so you want to be very careful but I think you also want to check your own Community (06:05) yeah maybe you’re thinking I don’t know maybe I want to move I don’t I live in a great place newspapers vary from location to location some y some communities the newspapers will uh will re reveal everything others not so much things are glossed over yeah some in some areas things are glossed over so you may be very surprised at how many things are going on right around you that might be the last uh the last straw that helps you make up your mind to get out move forward so something to think about as well so I think it’s a great (06:42) resource and we love to share it with all of our clients it’s very important for you to do some studying up on that absolutely and see if wherever you’re going to wash up you’re going to be happy and you’re going to feel safe and secure uh odds are in Prescot and presca Valley you will be yes so it’s good to know um um so yeah we wanted to share that with you yeah to me it was a big confirmation because I’ve been saying for a while honestly I don’t know any areas that are dangerous here and and I (07:10) think the the crime statistics kind of bore that out so I so check it out when you’re doing your due diligence in whatever City you may wash up in it’s very helpful so we wanted to share that with uh all of our friends out there so hope we hope you find this helpful and uh that is our tip of the day tip of the day if you like tip tips we got lots of tips for you and they’re all free just go to our free information site that’s pickle 411. (07:39) com whether you’re a buyer seller or somewhere in between there’ll be something there for you that will Amaze Astound inform educate and did I say entertain I think so but that’s okay it’s still entertain I need a sar you can repeat it again it’s all good yeah it’s all good in the hood yeah it’s all good in the safe Hood that’s right all good in the safe Circle that back if a place is safe is it still considered a hood sure I call all all neighborhoods live netive not for me I for you it’s my nickname the hood okay for the hood I (08:09) live in the hood see you in the hood yeah all right my friends on that note uh if you’re looking to do your due diligence make sure you check out Community Crim map.com I’ll put a link below he’ll put a link below there you go thank you for listening and have a fabulous day bye
Worried about medical care in a small town like Prescott?
In this episode we give you the lowdown on what the health systems are like and what you can expect if you move here… Plus some helpful tips on getting the care you need.
bour oh a French fris hello hello hello Diane and Randall bro here coming to you this afternoon from Prescot Arizona we are your local helpful efficient amazing uh real estate team that’s us uh Rand and Dian bro here did I say my name but I’ll say it again you just keep saying it just in case you didn’t catch it never get old I’m also called the pickle lady pickle lady yeah so we are here to talk we get this a lot we get a lot of questions and I completely understand it’s a great question about (00:39) Medical Care yeah Medical Care here in presc so I think we may have covered this before but we probably did every now and then you need to retread something there there it’s unusual for someone to come and visit us and go around with us and not ask us this question absolutely so the answer is yes we do have medical care there isn’t and end a video cut Finn as they say Finn good no yeah we did a good job on that we covered that we went into great depth y uh no yes we do have medical care um you should know there are two major (01:14) hospitals one in Prescot one in Prescot Valley they are run by Dignity Health uh we have a lot of so they referred to as the East Campus and the west campus that’s right we also have there are Specialists here there isn’t one doctor’s office here uh there’s a lot of satellites there’s cardiologist if God forbid you have cancer um you can pretty much go down to Phoenix to um the Mayo Clinic the Cancer Centers down there MD Anderson MD Anderson all the big cancer people yeah the research hospitals are obviously in (01:49) a big city you can’t have we can’t sustain a huge research hospital here in our small town most of that is right around the scottsd area that’s about an hour and a half an hour and 45 minutes away but the good news is you go down there you get your protocol there are satellite offices in Prescot so once they lay out your plan of action uh you don’t even have to usually you don’t have to go back down there you can do it here in Prescot with your orders um but yeah we’ve got a lot of friends uh they (02:19) have a good cardiologist several here uh good uh What do you call them gastrologist gastro yeah uh I’m looking for a good psychiatrist yeah yeah yeah well like a lot of the kind of thing where you have uh ongoing uh ongoing care like rehab you know not not the drug rehab but you know you got a a new knee a new hip yeah you know they’ll have that kind of stuff here we don’t want you to think oh there’s only one doctor’s office whatever will I do yeah now they’re here and the hospitals are (02:51) actively engaging trying to improve and get younger doctors in here as well so we are growing and evolving y um there are also a lot of concierge doctors here which I don’t know where you are from your neck of the woods but um that’s a new trend where you can put up two to $4,000 and you have your own personal doctor you can go see whenever you want you call them they make room for you there’s no oh you got to wait two weeks yeah um so that’s pretty attractive especially if You’ have a major (03:26) condition and something has happened dreadfully it could help you save a lot of trips to the emergency bre yeah well one thing one thing I always mention is uh if you are within I would say 50 maybe as much as 100 miles from Prescot and you are in a car accident and they Life Flight you out they’re going to bring you to presc it’s the it’s the biggest most advanced Regional Hospital in the area until you need to do like an mayo or MD Anderson uh this is the place and that’s true of all the areas around (04:01) here we will’ll come to presc good stuff good stuff so I don’t want you to have a preconception here that or preconceived notion is that word yeah prec yeah it’s not like the you know we’re not that cowboy town where they give you a bullet to bite on and pour Whiskey on your stomach before they cut out your appendix that’s right no nothing like that we’ve Advanced a little bit since we have a lot of good Specialists we have a lot of good dentists we have a lot of good you know endodontists (04:30) we have it all okay um it might I do recommend when you come that at least the first week go ahead and get your name into one of the doctors you want to go to because it might take a month or two to get established once you’re established you’re in yeah but don’t wait until it’s a crisis you know get then you’re going to find yourself in trouble that’s right and and you know we don’t mean to portray this as nervana uh our country is struggling with Health Care particularly since covid and uh our (05:01) our little town is doing its best to deal with the difficult situation that everyone else is dealing with that’s so you know trying to find good doctors and everything a lot of places are struggling with that and presc it is too uh but for the most part um you you can get the care that you need here at least that’s been AB we’re trying to get some help for him but yeah yeah nobody wants to take him nobody wants to take on trying the psychotic mess I call a brain so I don’t want you to be afraid (05:32) um it’s all good you know and um we’ve had a lot of people go through good friends some very serious yes uh health issues yes and they’re still here doing great and you just get resourceful and uh adjust and make yeah I I mean we we most of our friends are in their late 60s 7s 80s uh so just about any point in time we have a good friend who’s undergoing something and so this is you know Medical Care is something that we kind of have our finger on absolutely because we’re constantly getting (06:08) feedback and for the most part people do get the care they need they do yeah so we just wanted to bring that up again because we get that asked uh we get asked about that a lot one the top ones and it is important for you to know and reassure you that you’ll be okay yeah all right my friends that is our lovely tip for today yeah if you like tips the place to go is our free information site pickle 411. (06:34) com whether you’re a buyer seller somewhere in between there’s something there waiting for you that will Amaze asound entertain and inform and do it in a way that no one else can and we bring it to you absolutely free I mean absolutely free I mean nothing not even a nickel not even nothing or a penny nothing nothing nothing but that’s okay we enjoy meeting you and hearing from you love some of the very positive comments as well as some of the negative ones kind of makes me giggle yeah you guys can be a little mean sometimes sometimes it’s obvious they’re talking (07:06) about a different video I get that a lot you know they were ref I’m like I think you’re you’re commenting on the wrong video just be cool yeah yeah just be cool it’s all for a fun my friends don’t take it all seriously yeah it’s all for fun just relax and you know life is short anyway that’s all that’s a little aside that’s what we call aide in the business one those asides we we call it that in the business we’ll cut that out later all right we’ll lose that in the edit it’ll be on the (07:34) floor is it no okay I don’t edit ask your daughter she’s one end videos now okay all right everybody have a wonderful rest of your day and we hope to hear from you soon bye bye
good morning hello Peeps and hello hello hello hello hello hello Diane and Randall bro here your friendly husband and wife real estate team and she’s pickle lady I am also the pickle lady I have many monikers that’s right that’s a good word I like moniker you’re yeah I know so today we want to talk about something a little interesting about moving here to Prescot if you have puppy dogs look out for porcupine porcupine so we got a call from a friend of ours whose dog uh Piper Piper uh just let out in the backyard and came up with a whole bunch of quills evidently they almost like fire out I I always thought you had to like throw yourself on a porcupine evidently they come out like little arrows I I don’t know yeah when they’re threatened it just happens happens and it happens fast and uh so she was uh stuck a whole bunch ended up uh and they have barbs on them too so they’re very hard to remove it was um I mean the dog is going to be fine he’s fine but it’s not a fun process and we’re not talking about one or two quills I mean you could have aund quills all in your dog’s face and in body and and it’s very uncomfortable and you have to make sure you get the whole Barb out you can’t just take it upon yourself to pull it out because sometimes you leave a piece in there and then it’s another nightmare now I don’t want you to think you walk around presca and you see porcupines everywhere cupin are very well hidden they’re they’re nocturnal yeah and they do not like to be seen so uh generally you don’t see them if you don’t see them that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re not there they’re there they’re hiding I had seen por golf course I think yeah this is a house that’s on the golf course I think they kind of like the golf course uh same as coyotes coyotes also kind of like golf courses uh so if you have property like that or looking to buy property like that just be careful yeah so when you put your pups out you should know do we have porcupines yes do we have Havalina yes do we have coyotes yes especially if you got a teeny tiny dog oh yeah never never have unsupervised outdoor time well this really small dog I mean we’ got Hawks you know oh Hawks and that’s true in a lot of areas I mean you know it’s not like we have this abundance of wildlife the same as true a lot of those animals were there in Texas as well but uh so make sure you have supervised yard time um don’t go to the grocery store and leave your dog outside in the yard you might come home to a disaster yeah now we have big dogs so uh you know the the Ravens and you know that they’re not going to carry around our dogs but uh porcupines even a even a very large dog can get uh injured by do so we uh we have a little print out here so we have a little print out yeah so we went to chat GPT we are harnessing the power of artificial intelligence to give some tips on how you can avoid having dog uh stuck by a not stuck not stuck that’s right so as I said have supervised outdoor time yep uh have make sure you have a good fence around that little critter say they borrow underneath I don’t know how practical that is I know but you can try but they they are pretty pretty creative there’s also such a thing who knew called porcupine repellant yeah so you can get porcupine repellents get training oh training how do you get train your dog train your dog to stay away get like a stunt porcupine that’s kind of stupid commands like stay yeah or leave it important my dogs would never listen to that never learn just like my children they would never listen to that but hey if you’ve got good dogs who will listen to that for you good uh have the porcupine repellent I didn’t know they had such a thing use commercial porcupine repellants these can deter porcupines from coming near your property there you go so I don’t know what what that scent is or what that is I don’t know but I guess you could find out and spray it around your yard probably Puli or something like that they also say to remove food sources like bird feeders or fruit that falls from your trees yeah yeah um they’re attracted to that because they want to come eat and they’re hungry so try to keep those things to a minimum and if you’ve got uh fruit trees in your yard pick up the rotten fruit because I that was car’s problem I think she has a fruit tree I think she yeah um make sure you keep your yard clean of all brush and extra logs and things that they could hide in or B burrow in and make a cute little house Y and uh they also like uh motion activated lights and sprinklers are very good to detract them and deter them from coming into your yard they don’t want to be a part of that at all they don’t like it that’s right a Sprinkle I really like it kind of Squirt yeah yeah make them run make them run that would keep me out of your yard not that I would do anything to your dog and lots of lights so yeah it’ll be good so anyway um that’s just something to keep in mind yeah if you got a little pup she kind of went through a bad experience had to rush him to the vet and it was not cheap okay so be aware that when you come here we are got Critters yeah so yeah and like I said this is not like a common thing this is the first time I heard of it happening uh unfortunately to a friend of ours but uh we just thought we let you know and yeah it’s a it’s a good it’s important to know so know remember supervision is the top thing as far as I’m concerned as well as having a fenced yard yeah so be on the lookout for porcupines and any other Critters that could hurt your your kitty cats or puppy dogs and stuff like that so in conclusion after our many valuable tips we just gave you um make sure you protect your kitty cat your puppy dogs um things are out there it’s not always bad but you should be aware um there are some Critters out there who could wreak havoc for your little your little pup or kit so that is your tip of the day if you like tips the place to go is our free information site pickle 411. com whether you’re a buyer seller somewhere between there will be something there waiting for you that will amaz a down entertain and did I say amused maybe yeah for it we don’t we don’t we’ve been told we have to but we’re fighting against it we’re fighting against it so protect your Critters um porcupines are cute but it’s not a Beatrix Potter character you’d be surprised yeah that’s a uh Hedgehog right Hedgehog hog well I know por you see these things and you think they’re so cute stories and all that they’re not Nature’s there to yeah nature wants to injure you keep that in mind we want to keep your pup and your kitty cat out of the vet yep absolutely and having retractions made of those quills yeah ouch all right that is all for today and have a fabulous rest of your day hope to see you soon bye bye
One of the foundational principles of the American nation is that if you are unhappy where you are, you can always “vote with your feet” and move someplace else. And if you’re going to move, go where you are treated best! Tune in today to find out why Prescott might be that exact place for you… and how we can help you with that transition.
hello hello hello hello peeps this is Randall and I am diam brro coming to you from our beautiful town of Prescot Arizona and uh we wanted to talk to you or your fellow realtor agents here um we have a lot of folks who come in from all over the United States yes I mean we get people from New Jersey Massachusetts I mean Oregon Washington we get them all over and um we’ve had some people come in they’re like I don’t know if this is for me and I get that it’s not for everybody so you need to pick the town where you feel you are treated best that’s right and where you feel like a really comfortable fit yes and you’re with your folks so to speak so if you come to uh Prescot and you’re like you know what I I just don’t like it I don’t find people friendly here which is not true but anyway is not true um it’s very important that you have to be happy where you land the house is not enough it’s the community and what the community off offers and if it’s something that you’re like I just don’t know if this is for me that’s okay yeah and the local government for that matter if you live in a place where they’re constantly raising your taxes and lowering your services you know they take money for highways and the highways just keep getting worse every year there’s uh you’re not safe uh in certain areas of your town maybe you’re in your own home uh you’re not being treated well and one of the fundamental rights that humans have is they can vote with their feet they can go someplace else you can move with your feet and that’s the beauty of living here in the old us OFA uh if you don’t like it pull up Stakes go some place else life is short you know we want you to be happy where you land yes and that’s okay and for us you know I mean we came from the deep south and we we pulled up Stakes we didn’t like some things that were going on and uh so we pulled up Stakes was it hard yes um was it hard to start over yes was our family real thrilled not really but um you know it’s a great big world out there people yes and life is so short so we want you to land where you’re truly truly happy and where you feel a good connection yes and you have a good sense of community and so I think you’ll find that here in Prescot we think you will uh and if it’s not here you need to go someplace else yeah and that’s fine there’s there’s a guy I follow on YouTube he calls himself the uh Nomad capitalist and and that’s what he says he says go where you’re treated best now in his mind you go someplace you know all over the world you know he looks at places all over the world and if you want to do that you know you can check out his website he he’s an interesting guy uh but the same also applies here in United States it’s a big country it’s a big continent yeah and uh there are wonderful places to find chances are you’re someplace because someone else decided that you should be there either an ancestor or uh your spouse’s boss or your boss or a job correct or family you that’s just where I grew up so I stay here yeah if you’re retiring you get to choose where you want to live and it anywhere in the world you can go you can go anywhere you want so go where you were treated best and we have some very dear friends here shout out to Suzanne and Don yep you know who you are they grew up their whole lives in Massachusetts and the same town for ever and ever and ever and ever have never moved away and they were like we’re done and they pulled up Stakes pull up stakes and came all the way out here uh I’m sure their family is like what what we like it here she’s like we were done we were cooked we wanted to try something new and God bless him they came here and they fully embraced it and God that was hard right it is hard but I’ll tell you this having done it myself you go back ain’t no going back oh my God how I ever I know I know you see things in new eyes and it’s like the lenses are pull you know and uh so they’ve had no regrets we’ve had no regrets I mean we love our family but it’s just sometimes you just have to try something new I mean because life is it’s a blink people it’s a blink and it’s over the great thing about presc is for the most part you’re going to meet people who’ve done the same thing yeah that’s true they’ pulled up stakes and they’re looking for a better place and everybody be in the same boat with with people just like that and we all say the same thing damn we made a good decision God no regrets no regrets no looking back so whether it’s Prescot or someplace else in the United States always go where you were treated best we’ love to have you here in Prescot but if it’s not your cup of tea we’re okay with that we want you to be happy but if you do decide impr presc it give us a call yeah we want to make it work for you and introduce to people and have a good time and tell you all the good restaurants and all the fun things we have to do here so anyway please life is too short my friends go where you’re
