Cheers Cheers hello folks and welcome to the Randall and Diane bro pickle lady show it’s a pickle lady hour pickle lady hour that’s not really an hour eight minutes eight minutes 30 eight minute show pickled eight minutes of the piccoloo show that’s us we’re Punchy because today we’re going to talk about something that was kind of fun a lot of fun a lot of fun a lot of yeah Brew Fest is back yeah so Brew Fest is Back we went to the Brew Fest uh they have a brew fest it’s in June in uh in Prescott they hold it at I guess it’s a middle school football field they hold it on yeah they used to do hot air balloons they didn’t have Hunter balloons but they did have a live band they had a Features live band and that was fun and they must have had at least 25 booths oh 28 probably double that more than that yeah and so you buy your tickets and you go it’s in the evening so the weather’s perfect oh it was beautiful it was so nice and you just go and you can go from Booth to booth and just try all these different local uh local boys pretty local we’re sort of regional oh yeah Regional yeah some of them are for like uh Southern California which isn’t that far away from us uh pretty much anyone in Arizona is going to be there some amazing beers we’ve got some amazing beers amazing wineries here too believe it or not the best of show in my humble Best of Show opinion was a and I put it I’ll have to I’ll have to look them up but uh they did a uh Bourbon Barrel Scottish ale they were from Lexington oh is that what you bought uh Kentucky yeah so we had a good time and then you bring your chair and you can sit down and listen to music yeah yeah so um anyway COVID Hiatus it’s been a great time thing uh we used to go to it and then covid you know put a kibosh on it I think this was the first one since covet no did they do it last year they might have done it live we didn’t do we didn’t go last year but it’s coming back it’s coming back stronger than ever great time so if you’re thinking about moving to Prescott or you’re new to Prescott are you looking always coming in June ask us about Brew Fest and uh we’ll hook Randal’s Chatty you up somebody’s chitter chattering today that’s very you’re very chatting when we’re talking about beer man we’re very adamant beer and dogs beer and dogs I won’t say another word yeah you carry trying to get a word in Edgewater hey you go ahead anyway so if you’re here mid-june always try to make it around the Brew Fest it’s a lovely time right yeah I think we had some clients that met us there no doesn’t it I remember we were supposed to I remember if they showed up or not I think they did they might have yeah we had a good time so it’s uh we always Prescott Events have lovely events here in town all the time and now that covet is lifted we’re opening back up again and just having all of our events are starting up again it’s it’s just great it is it’s great absolutely wonderful so we hope maybe next year in June we’ll see you at the bridge that’s right particularly our our Better than Southern AZ listeners in Southern Arizona yeah yeah it’s it’s already hot down there in June uh if you’re looking for an escape in June that’s a good time to come up it’s lovely evening evening weather here in summertime 70s it was perfect it was perfect perfect so anyway we hope next year maybe in June we’ll run across here yeah yeah yeah you see us come over and uh you know we’ll uh we’ll uh share a beer with you Wind Down absolutely so just wanted to share about Brew Fest and what a good time it is and how much we enjoy it every year yeah so hope to see you soon and uh we’ll have a beer like you yeah absolutely cheers cheers bye

good afternoon good afternoon folks hi hi hello hello Bonjour you know all those things that’s right multilingual there you go she’s the pickle lady I am this is a pickle that’s right Diane and Randall bro here coming to you uh your local Friendly helpful Realtors here in Prescott Arizona and we are here to talk about sometimes it’s the bane of my existence it makes me take a deep breath yeah so we’re here to talk today about solar solar can be a four-letter word yeah in my world all right so first off solar is available here uh some of the newer construction homes come with solar uh for the most part when people come from Why So Little? other areas where there’s a lot of solid they’re surprised there isn’t more of it there isn’t more of it right they’re like how come most of the houses here don’t have them well here’s the thing um our utilities are quite inexpensive yeah uh our electric bills are not super high like in some other areas of the country and people are getting these Sky High you know 900 electric bills it just doesn’t happen here so the financial component of solar is not that compelling here the people they do solar It’s Green, But… they’re for the most part it’s to be green uh absolutely most people here who do it now Phoenix absolutely they meet solar they’re running that AC constantly we don’t have a three-digit temperatures so we don’t have to run our AC we’re not running at 105 like it is down in the valley yeah that’s right um it’s very temperate temperatures here especially during summer it’s just not that bad we might get in the 90s you know and then you know uh it cools down to the 70s so we’re not really hitting that AC so hard that solar would be a positive thing we have the sun form but it the energy that it produces is a war as much as that’s right energy produced in other areas and Owned vs. Not so now I love own sonar I will say that ohm solar if you want to put solar on and you really want to help the environment and I appreciate that and I honor that I think that’s a beautiful thing and you pay it off I love it even more but if you put solar on and you take a sixty thousand dollar loan to have uh solar installed uh you should know most people who buy your in the future who might want to buy your home are not interested in assuming that loan yes most people are like I don’t want to pay how much did you pay it down ten thousand yes I don’t want to buy a 50 000 solar system I don’t want to take over this lease and I don’t want to pay it off so you’ve had sellers in their 80s and they they take out you know a 30-year yeah you know lease on solar it’s like what do you thinking and that’s not yeah well somebody is somebody’s not you know yeah they’re doing a sell job yeah and so it’s very important and so it can be a real deterrent to potential When it’s a Deterrent buyers yeah so what’s your name yeah unless you can find a buyer first of all you to find a buyer is willing to do it you’ve cut your buyers at least in half yes uh because they’re going to have to take over the lease and a lot of them they worry about you know the roof Other Worries and was it installed properly that’s right you know is it going to be damaged if they remove it and so you’ve got it opens up a whole can of worms it does um particularly if it’s leased and they don’t want to take over the lease you have to remove it it it can be a real nightmare if it sleeps we have yet to work with a lease company that makes that process fast easy yeah it’s a pretty it’s a grueling process a grueling process so if you are thinking Pay it Off about doing solar at least here in Prescott yeah pay it off pay it off because yeah yeah you’re probably going to end up having to pay it off when you go to sell yes anyway just the buyers that’s true most of the buyers will say okay I’m interested but I don’t want to take this on they have to pay it off yeah so be prepared if you were thinking about putting solar on your house here in Prescott uh there’s a lot of pros and cons Pros and Cons so the pros are I mean if you get it and you pay it off then you have you know what 60 dollar bills or less way less that can be a great thing that’s it can be yeah it can be a very good thing now some of the buildings of Mandalay in particular I know they’re doing solar in a lot of their new homes and you know that’s part of the deal it’s part of the package and it’s owned you know you’re not you’re not uh leasing it separately so you’re not going to have that same the same number of issues but our advice When it’s a Benefit is if you’re thinking about doing solar make sure you pay it off and then enjoy all the perks and the Beautiful benefits of uh owning your own solar and then if you ever have to sell your home it’s a real positive for incoming buyers yes they don’t want to lease it though they don’t want to lose it but you’re going to get all your money back but that’s when we’ll go for a premium if it does have solar absolutely and we’re saying this is and it’s owed yeah and it’s on this is 2023 uh solar technology is improving all the time that’s right you know they may come up with something that changes the whole aspect the the costs and all this so this may change but as of now given the technology that’s in place if it’s a new home and Retrofitting they’re incorporating solar as part of the package that’s okay that that’s a pretty good deal but if you have a home and you’re thinking about retrofitting I would I would discourage that yeah just just looking at this from the point of view of a realtor right it makes your home harder and trying to resell yeah for sure for sure so that’s our little tit solar yeah not again solar I think solar is amazing yeah I think solar is great and by the Diane Beats Lease Companies way if if you do have a home that is leased it has lease on solar there is no one better on the planet than bulldogging the the lease companies to get them to do the thing in the pickle lady we just released her to you know release the dogs and uh let’s slip the dogs of war or whatever it is because she goes after him and she is Relentless yeah they hate me but uh it’s not a pleasant it’s not a pleasant uh yeah happening for anyone so no so keep that in mind solar can be a very positive thing if it’s owned otherwise I don’t know yeah so that’s our tip of Wind Down Introduction hello hello hello hello peeps this is Diana Randall bro your friendly local Prescott area Realtors and she’s pickle Eddie I am the pickle lady she’s full of pickles sometimes sometimes all right so Sad Story this episode we have something sad to talk about it is it was a very sad story you might have heard it it made national news a very fine gentleman of one of our local prescottiians was building a beautiful cabin up in the remote section of the mountains and unfortunately a bear came and got it it’s acting Joe by bear yeah totally unprovoked it’s a very unusual thing to happen especially with a male bear not quite sure what uh set him off um but we just wanted to put the word out there that when you hear Prescott don’t think we’re you know uh up and up in the mountains we’re not full of bears we’re not full of bears our thoughts and prayers go out to him our condolences got him and his family obviously this is a tragic event and we certainly don’t want to make little of this no and uh I mean there was a bear attack in Prescott Prescott Size let me explain what in price kit means so in Prescott in this case means the within the Incorporated area of Prescott now just so you’ll know if you go to the extreme north of the Incorporated area of Prescott and you drive without traffic so you know my Californians this isn’t about traffic you know you just there’s no traffic you drive to town it will take you the like 30 minutes to get to town and then if you proceed South uh you can drive another 40 minutes or so until you hit the South Boundary so this occurred on the South Boundary the South Boundary eventually get you get to the Bradshaw Mountains this was on the other side of the Bradshaw Mountains Not in Town essentially so a very remote area it is more remote so we didn’t want you to feel like oh my gosh if I’m around the town square or there’s going to be coming out yeah um I will never say never yeah but odds are no that will never happen unless you’re way up you know if the head bears in town they’d all be at Costco I think picking up the salmon there or something that’s right absolutely making it easier we really don’t have Bears or things like that yeah in the town this is a Remote Areas very remote area uh we rarely go up there from time to time we have somebody who wants us to go look at something I’ve broken an axle you should be aware a lot of folks think I really want something remote where I can enjoy peace and nature and I don’t want to be around a lot which can be absolutely delightful and beautiful beautiful area it’s stunning but you should be aware that a lot of those roads are not paved it’s dirt roads you could get snowed in you could get the roads could get washed out because monsoons and rutted it’s very difficult to Traverse unless you’ve got it yeah your car can fall off the path like we did this is very remote people come they think I want something kind of that’s exactly what I want usually the Too Remote for Most everyone we brought up there that well this is tumorable this is way too remember so although it’s stunningly beautiful it’s kind of for uh special kind of people that that enjoy that and and can handle those kind of roads without any issues and most of those places are not winterized no so the people who are staying there for the most part are only there during the summer so these are more like camps these are yeah I mean if you get snowed in up Snowed In there it could be kind of like the shiny oh yeah yeah it’s good I mean you’re gonna be because you’re way more at the top of the mountain and that snow stays a long time I got stuck up there one time and I was told you know we’ll be there in six hours luckily after about an hour someone drove by who had a chain and pulled me back from somebody who lived up there and they’re like we got you we have all the equipment we’re used to this we’ll pull you out people are very friendly so you should keep that in mind uh Other Animals remote can be uh have some animals out there we do have mountain lions we do have Bobcats we have javelina we have Bears we have coyotes and in these remote areas these animals not the ones in town but the ones in the remote areas these are wild animals these are not they’re not being fed you know by cars that pass by and yeah in Yosemite Park or whatever right these these animals rarely see human beings so that’s right so um again it was a terrible unfortunate accident or event that had yes a neighbor a fellow neighbor heard and came out and and uh addressed it and yeah and so they have captured the bear but we just wanted to share that with you you should know if you decide to go into the more remote areas this could be something that’s you know out there and you know we do we’re kind of a little love country town and we have lots of Critters here you say you found you stay In Town on the golf course you know you don’t have to worry about being attacked while you’re teeing off it’s it’s no it’s nothing like that you know these these things go into the the media and the media tries to sell stories sometimes they can be misleading yes uh as I said before it is a fact he was in Prescott but uh the incorporate area right not downtown that is correct you won’t see any bears going around the square thank goodness thank goodness but uh anyway so we just wanted to share that with you we thought it was um kind of a terrible event that happened but we wanted to assure folks out there thinking about Prescott like wow is that really just like a remote Town yeah not really um you’d be perfectly fine here yeah now we can relate because we’re from New Orleans and that’s right A lot of times people go to New Orleans they’ll worried the alligators are gonna attack that’s right people have probably gotten attacked by alligators within the Incorporated limits of New Orleans but it can happen yeah I never say never yeah I Never Say Never Never Say Never yeah you’re gonna have some exotic dancer with an alligator or Bourbon Street you could you could yeah but she’s got a special Act [Laughter] yeah it happens I’m thinking about that but anyway so yeah keep this all in mind Prescott is Safe we just didn’t want you to feel uh this would be too weird you know it’s not your cup of tea it would be your cup of tea it’s awesome here it’s amazing you’ll love it you’ll love the the scenery everything but it’s pretty much yeah that’s another thing yeah so be aware we got the critters we got Critters so that’s our tip of the day hi hello folks hello and hello Diane I’m Randall bro here coming to you live from Prescott Arizona we are I am the pickle lady we are your local husband and wife real estate team here ready will it enable to help you find your new home and start that next chapter and as I think we’ve indicated before Prescott Loves Dogs Prescott is a huge dog Town yep we know of what we speak we’ve got many dogs ourselves yep up to number four now okay yeah let’s not say the number because now we sound crazy well we sound crazy it’s really like two and a half because the pugs are old and they don’t do much now that’s right they’re just kind of warm and moist yeah yeah you can probably hear one of them snoring one of them but anyway so recently we had to go on a little trip and we wanted to give a shout out to a great new um Pet Resort yes and it’s called Wags Introducing Wags Wags w-a-g-s yes so I needed a place last minute everybody that I usually go to was booked and Wags was open so I Amazing Facility went out to tour it amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing great great facility down in Prescott Valley yeah we got a few pictures I’ll show you some of the pictures but they have one of the things that impressed me me and they had the big screen TV so you can see all the dogs playing you can see your dog playing they’re really good they’ve got all kinds of levels of you know regular kennels all the way up to the deluxe with the TV set for your dog and all that our two dogs stay together in one Our Experience nice kennel and they had a good time and they slowly but surely introduce them to other dogs for playtime and I think it did them a world of good to be socialized and it was just first class that’s how it really was you know as a Customized Approach business person I was so impressed with their sense of process so you walk in we had we have two dogs that were that we were boarding uh they’re puppies they’re about six months old and we tell them that okay puppy so there’s a process for puppies you know are they social well they’re a little shy there’s a process for shy you know and like introducing them slowly and it’s all systematized and they have sections for this small dogs sections for the big dogs and if you’ve got a dog that doesn’t get along with others they have a separate thing for them so you know even if you have a difficult dog they can still have a nice Pre-Assessment time there and they assess your dog yeah they insisted that we bring the dog all free of charge yes bring the dog in and we’ll spend some time with your dog and kind of learn what makes your dog tick and and so we brought the dogs over for a few hours and uh made sure that they you know weren’t going to attack other dogs and weren’t going to be so petrol they passed with flying colors I might say thank goodness which is good because we’ve had dogs in the past that did not so we were happy to hear that and just well well taken care of we got daily While Boarded reports on how their behavior was and a report card so to speak yeah so for all of our friends and clients out there who are new to the area and you’re looking for a place to safely you know put your dogs where you know they’re gonna have a good time and be happy Wags for us is number one so so clean Impressive All Around and sweet smelling yeah everyone was so nice and well informed I I was just very very impressed a great yard for them to play a great indoor yeah I mean it’s just everything is just done first class first class so if you’re looking for a place and you’ve got doggies and you’re moving here to Prescott don’t worry Wags will take care guys will take care of you a hundred percent we can’t say enough good things about them so that’s our little tale uh story about wax shake my tail if I could but I used to have a tail but I had I’m not that’s our tip for the day if you look Wind Down for tips the place to go is pickle411.com that’s our free information site whether you’re a buyer seller somewhere in between there’s something there waiting for you that will Amaze astound and form and Delight you and it’s all absolutely free that’s correct so hope to see you at Wags with your pups and I hope you’re having a great rest of your day bye bye

hi hi hello hello hello I am Diane bro this is my better half Randall bro I don’t know if I’m better I’m glad you said it but I’m local you know okay pick a lady on her side kick skunk Pig Randall I never said I say it Our Favorites who is to talk about some new restaurants to get into restaurants restaurants this one oops is I just built on myself is amazing it is in Prescott Valley so this is for all of my Prescott Valley friends you need to go to Ciao Bella yeah and even if you live in Prescott it’s not that far it’s not 15 minutes down the road Frankie Valli Concert so recently we went to go see Frankie Valli in concert amazing amazing he was great it was wonderful I mean it was just a huge sing-along yeah we had a great time um but it was down in Prescott Valley so Prescott Valley we decided let’s go to a restaurant nearby so we found Ciao Bella Ciao Bella wonderful wonderful wonderful food yeah very unique Italian I got some Mediterranean kind of Italian Dish he got some chicken I got a chicken thing Delicious Entrees with kind of a cream sauce on it it was amazing there were two of their most popular dishes the the waitress was very helpful with a fig reduction oh yeah yeah ask that the the waiters the wait staff is Waitstaff very helpful and very fast yes and uh the first time I went there I got fried Appetizers calamari it was good it was fried calamari and it’s hard to screw up uh I wasn’t that hungry the second time we went I got the uh I got the chicken thing yeah that chicken thing was good that chicken that was good as for the chicken thing yeah or the pork chop the chicken thing or the pork chops was amazing it was amazing with the Fig reduction yes so they have a selection Wines & Beers of wines uh and beers I think I drink mostly beer yep um you know we have a lot of really good Italian restaurants here I think this is number six seven uh Italian this is an Italian Town my friends this is you can get it so this is great if you’re down in Prescott Valley to have a nice local Italian yeah you’re not going to go wrong it’s amazing they were they were Great Setup wonderful great service yeah right off of uh Glasford Hill yep and uh easy to get to lots of parking lots of parking I was wondering not too long of a wait so we’re going to pass that on all my folks here in Prescott and Prescott Valley make sure you go check it out Ciao Bella good stuff wow I love it it was excellent it was absolutely excellent thinking about that pork chop yeah I’m thinking about the pork chop too yeah I didn’t even have the pork I know it was good it looked really good so please feel free to check them out yep um we promise you’ll enjoy it yeah that’s it that’s a good a good selection we always Wind Down enjoy the restaurants we got lots of restaurant reviews on our channel so check them out uh the place to find all that stuff along with a bunch of other stuff is pickle411.com that is our free information site whether you’re a buyer seller somewhere in between there’s something there waiting for you that will Amaze astound and form the light you and it’s all free and fill your belly and fill your belly check all right hope you guys are having a great day out there talk to you soon bye bye

Road Construction Season

Road construction is always a pain, right?  Turns out, if it's kept up with, it's not so bad at all. In this quick clip we discuss Prescott's "road construction season," and why it's a breeze compared to other cities.

hi hi hello hello hello oops Rattle and Diane bro here in the pickles Arizona here in Prescott Arizona you’re correct um we are here to talk about something I absolutely love I’m so excited about because I’ve lived in places where I didn’t get to enjoy this road construction road construction so road construction is always a pain in the butt yeah you got the cones and the flags and you know but if you were born New Orleans Roads and raised in a city like New Orleans you will appreciate road construction New Orleans is pothole pothole pothole uh nothing is ever fixed it just gets bigger and bigger and bigger until finally whole cars are swallowed up and then maybe they might yeah when they start losing citizens in the potholes that’s when they go out and they throw some asphalt on it that’s right so what Prescott Comparison we have found here it’s fascinating is after winter you know with the contraction of ice and this and the other sometimes the roads get a little rough get some cracks and things like that with that fail come springtime road construction videos they already have had it planned out um the mayor and his team sit down and they decide okay let’s let’s do our budget let’s get this handled and sure Spring Road Repairs enough the cones are already up here we are in the end of April uh roads are already getting repaved and spiffied up yeah after the winter season you don’t see a lot of road construction here that last year round or four years you know Comparison to Los Angeles when we drive into La they’re doing uh work on the uh the freeway it’s been going on for years that’s right uh and it never ends and you’re there it brings traffic to a standstill and you don’t see anybody working you know all day long not here they come not here they come they knock it out they go to the next phase wherever they’re working um and it’s very nice it’s very uh no potholes here yeah it’s very unique for us we love it I’m like wow this is amazing they take care of business yeah so if you come here now like March April uh you will see our roads at their absolute worst if there’s a crack in the How Cracks Appear road what happens is water gets down in the crack and it freezes overnight and expands makes the crack bigger so Winter’s here tear up roads so they don’t do a whole lot of construction during the winter because it’s useless it’ll just tear it all up that’s right so starting in early spring they’ll jump on it and start and they do just a great job they do so it’s it’s just when I Progress is Good! think oh wow this road is really rough the next day without fail there they are there they are working on it so it’s very nice to be in a progressive town that looks ahead at what could be happening and what they’re going to have to address and actually expressive is kind of a loaded term and they actually do it they actually do it they make progress they make progress you made progress and I’m happy to be the recipient that’s exactly right having come from a town in New Orleans where it’s nothing but potholes now we’re the only crazy people who smile when we go through Road constructions but taking care of business if you live without it for a while you you’ll love it so that’s our little tip about road construction here don’t get thrown by it we just keep on top of things here and keep our little town running smooth like a top that’s exactly right that’s except for the day if Wind Down you’re looking for more tips the place to go is pickle411.com that is our free information site whether you are buy or seller somewhere in between there’s something there waiting for you that will Amaze Astound inform and Delight you there you go and it’s all absolutely free absolutely free donations you know we’ll take some donations I’m okay with that yeah no I’m kidding all right all right my friends that is all for today and we hope you have a wonderful rest of your day bye

yeah yeah we get a fair number of California probably the Lion’s Share of people coming in are from California because it’s close a lot of people are starting to find out about Prescott and people ask why are The Californians coming here but it’s attracting them what is attractive and they’re not from California but you’re thinking yeah you you might uh you you’ll hear some things that will sound similar to you so we thought we would take the time and document exactly what we’re hearing so what we hear a lot about and it’s kind of sad sometimes people are in the car lifelong Californians born and bred um kind of have a little catch in their throat a couple little tears maybe and they talk about you know why they feel like they have to leave they don’t want to but the cost of living there has just been become so prohibitive for them they are very concerned that they have a huge Nest Egg but predicting out and projecting out they might run out of money yeah and what we’re hearing too is it’s getting worse not better in particular taxes uh the they can never get enough taxes right uh the government is taking on things that will cost more money they’re not looking to save money so it’s you know they’re saying that’s going to get a lot worse before it gets any better and every time they think okay that’s it I mean I think this is it now I think I think they’ve taxed where they could they come up with something else new overnight and so people are really struggling to keep abreast of these cost increases especially as a retired person and it would be different if you’re getting a lot for the taxes that you’re paying but based on what they’re saying what they’re saying you know the the highways have fallen apart you know you hit potholes in the middle of the interstate uh the fire safety fire safety cup with prescribed Burns Law Enforcement has been cut way back so there are places now that uh you know don’t feel safe anymore uh so sort of the tax value proposition and and again you know particularly if you’re retiring uh you know you’ve got a short window and most people think that it’s going to get worse before it gets better and it won’t get better on our watch so to speak you reach a certain age it’s it’s it needs to be fixed and I I don’t know about you but I think if I’m spending so much on taxes I want to be living in Nirvana it should be like an amazing town and City and and no potholes and this is just the pressure Crusher Humanity yeah too so you know traffic air pollution air pollution and all these things our daughter travels a month an hour to work and an hour back and it’s it’s hard yeah it’s tough so that’s why they’re leaving okay so uh since some of them are coming here that would imply that we don’t have those things and we don’t uh but uh there are other places around that you can go to that won’t have those things and so you could improve your life um so we’re not going to bother going through saying you know our taxes are low we’ve said that elsewhere yeah I think what we should focus on is why do they pick specifically Prescott to go to as opposed to some of the other places that they’ve considered and the biggest thing is it is so close to California so if you’ve still got family and grandkids but you’re trying to protect your nest egg and you come here it’s a six hour drive to Los Angeles six hour drive to San Diego we now have daily flights from our local Regional Airport here in Prescott right into LAX 50-minute flight so as well as Denver yeah um so that is very helpful it’s it’s great to be close enough frankly that’s why we came here to be closer to our daughters um we weren’t ready to go into a big city like L.A we just we couldn’t do it um the other thing people love the close proximity I mean it’s just great for holidays easy for kids to come see you get out and get back home and vice versa the other thing is weather here yeah other places that are close uh but most of them are like a desert right it’s uh you know you feel like a camel or Idaho is a big one severe Winters yeah so we don’t have severe Summers or severe Winters here the weather here is beautiful we have four seasons arguably five seasons including the monsoon season but they’re all beautiful they’re all wonderful uh there’s no time in the year where you you will feel you absolutely have to get out uh and you’re stuck in your home every day that doesn’t happen 120 does not happen here a hundred rarely happens yes uh in the winter we don’t have piles and piles of snow that don’t melt off it’s just enough to be beautiful and enjoy and then it’s gone so weather’s huge here especially if you’re a fan of four true Seasons yeah our town has it yeah it’s beautiful here second thing yeah beautiful it’s beautiful surrounded by mountains and and different sections of Prescott you either have the rocks or there you have beautiful trees then you might have um the the Dells yeah it goes on and on yeah it’s absolutely you go into the grocery store and you’re seeing the Dills at your view as you’re driving to the grocery store yeah because that’s hard you know California we get California’s beautiful you can see it you know but there are sections of of California that are just gorgeous yeah I get that so you don’t want to go someplace ugly um we’re not ugly but it’s beautiful yeah the other thing is we’re just plain fun it’s fun everybody here is is just uh just a lot of fun uh Whiskey Row we have a lot of culture here we have a lot of theater we have a lot of music huge music scene yeah huge dancing scene and um art galleries it goes on and on and on there’s always something going on here and it’s fun stuff for people of a certain age so like we visit our kids in Los Angeles there are lots of really fun things for young people to do that we wouldn’t be interested in doing when we describe fun we’re describing the kinds of things that people our age would like to teach for the old folks a lot of retiring yeah yeah if you want to golf you want to enjoy a good life you want to go have a good meal you want to go see some good music yeah uh this is the town for you yeah you might not find a rave you know I don’t know what two young people do now I don’t know yeah it’s not that kind of thing it is fun it’s the kind of thing that retired people really enjoy it’s a good time lots of things to do don’t think oh it’s a little town there won’t be much to do there’s a lot to do here it’s a very besides all the the physical riding bikes hiking uh you know as I said golfing I mean we even have indoor pickleball courts now at the shopping center so you can play year round yeah yeah and it goes on and on and on yeah so if you look in our our Channel we’ve got you know just tons of videos about living here and you’ll see all kinds of fun things that we do and we’re working yeah my friends are retired they they they’re really hard they ride their Jeeps they go up in the Rocks yeah yeah they had the time of their lives maybe one day we will too but we’ll see but in the meantime we live vicariously our retired friends that’s right and we just love the town and and we do a lot of the music scenes so yeah anyway so that’s our little tip of why what is driving people out of you know maybe California and it’s what is attracting them to come here and obviously cost of living gasoline everything everything Insurance remarkably taxes remarkably less I mean stunningly less than some of these places you’re looking to get out of California particularly if you retiring looking to get out of California you need to come check out Prescott it’s so close and so easy to get here if you’re thinking about Idaho or Texas or Florida Halfway Around the Globe you know just drive a few hours or hop on a plane come here first come here and at least check it out because you’ll be pleasantly pleasantly surprised as we were the weekend so that’s our little tip for the day so we hope you’re these videos I’m a little Punchy because we’ve been working hard that’s what makes them good yeah the punch you ever get to find the funnier I had fun or I think to myself funner funny funnier funnier funner funner I’m funnier I am no fun you know yeah when we’re tired it’s the best time to film when you’re tired you’re to talk Prescott Lakes about basket Lakes Prescott Lakes so this is uh our very favorite Community here in Prescott uh very popular with our incoming buyers so we thought we’d take some time and talk about Prescott Lakes yeah we chose to live here yeah I’ve been here about seven years but it’s still a nice place even though we’re here yeah we didn’t bring down the values yeah yeah not much people tolerate us here but when I show Show Prescott Lakes has become quite the destination for people coming in from out of town they’ve heard about Prescott Lakes they want to be in Prescott Lakes they want to see what it’s all about and this is right up my alley because we Why We Love It Here truly love it here when we came here I could care less about living in a country club I don’t golf I could care less about gated communities it meant nothing to me I ended up finding this house and I fell in love with the house and here I am um I absolutely love living in a country club environment which I never thought never really thought that through it’s really not me at all where we’re from Rethinking Country Clubs country clubs are kind of snooty and it’s all about you know putting on airs and that is not true not here not right we have people here from Super you know way up in business CEOs retired CEOs I mean we’ve got all people from all walks of life and everybody here is very warm friendly welcoming nobody cares where you came from what you did what what’s your bottom line yeah that doesn’t happen here yeah we’re all one big happy family and that’s truth and so we go and New Friends we have met everybody here is in the same boat we’re we don’t have any family here we don’t have any friends here and we have met some of the closest friends we’ve ever had here in Prescott it’s kind of a bond we have and we’ve just hit it off with uh many many people here and we just have a great time so if you like most people coming in to Prescott you know you’re retiring and you really don’t know anyone here yes we do that’s a plus if you don’t that’s okay uh places like Prescott Lakes the way we describe it is Plug and Play social that’s right if you don’t meet new people here living in Prescott Lakes that’s on you yeah there’s every opportunity yeah we have a private Private Restaurant restaurant which by the way when you belong to Prescott Lakes no minimum food and beverage which is a plus um but anyway you can come and enjoy all the social events they have they always have a band playing a party on the Terrace and they’ll have a buffet dinner that you can go to they have a Mother’s Day brunch a Father’s Day brunch Easter brunch New Year’s Eve a giant party yeah all with live music I mean and you just get a table of friends and you have a great time yeah and it’s just lovely Athletic Center they also offer an amazing athletic center beautiful beautiful with top-notch equipment that they trade out every two or three years so you’re never honest yeah old Machinery exercise classes yes are included in your fee yeah I just built out a huge new room where all the exercise classes it’s amazing beautiful um they have great outdoor pool indoor pool pickle ball is huge here chicks pickleball court six or eight I’m not in yeah a lot tennis courts I mean the list goes on and on and on and uh so if you don’t come here and get connected with somebody in some type of way whether it’s athletic or through the social well you’re just not doing something wrong Golf Course you’re not putting yourself out there beautiful golf yes if you are a golfer this is one you’re going to have to see and again the the even the golfers are nice here which is saying a lot super nice yeah super super nice most of our friends are are involved in golf that’s right but we are not but um we socialize with them but they have a Arnold Palmer uh Affiliated Golf Course uh that you can trade out if you travel throughout other parts of the country and then they’re about to and they’re looking to improve they’re sink in a million dollars and new bunkers or redesigning the bunkers uh Prescott Lakes as a new general manager yes who is uh great new blood and visions of all kinds of things uh that’s right so we’re very happy not Many Clubs only that we have clubs within the club so when you join here when you move here you can join the bridge Club the hiking Club the book club gardening the gardening club um I mean you name it the Women’s Club the ping pong Club it goes on and on and on so if you’re coming here and you’re retiring like how will I fill my time the legs will do it for you yeah I mean it’s easy peasy it’s like shooting fish in a barrel you’ll meet the nicest friends um and have a wonderful time we have thoroughly enjoyed our time here yeah for sure we love it now in terms of the Housing Situation housing there are about 1500 houses maybe a little less than that um they they have a couple of more neighborhoods to build most of the existing neighborhoods are built out there’s a little bit of construction going on but there are not that many vacant Lots left in the neighborhoods that already constructed uh the place started in the late 90s Yes Columbus of the homes date back to the early 2000s but there’s still new construction going on uh so kind of a mixture there are Neighborhoods about 12 or 13 different neighborhoods summer gated some are not not that you need a gate but yeah so these neighborhoods yeah the different price points these neighborhoods are under the umbrella so they’re all part of Prescott Lakes but it’s a neighborhood within the subdivision and yeah the different neighborhoods have different styles as as the lady mentioned some are gated some are not some are designed some are huge palatial homes uh all the way down to condos townhouses uh some homes are designed to be easy lock and leave but very low maintenance not a lot of yard others are built on half acre designed to be you know sort of spaced out and you know and and everything in between so you would be hard-pressed not to find something here and be happy with the lifestyle and the move here yeah I can’t speak highly enough about it and the whole staff at the club amazing people People amazing they’re always you know dead on we had a client come in extra early and they went in the kitchen and made them a small breakfast yeah even though we don’t serve breakfast don’t even serve breakfast but that our folks came in early I guess they miscalculated when they would arrive and didn’t hit as much traffic as they thought so they ended up being really early they called us we were on the other side of town so it took us a little while to get there and the staff just took it upon themselves to take care of them give them a little something to eat while they were waiting for us that’s the kind of folks and that’s what uh Prescott Lakes is all about camaraderie friendship yeah um just lovely people good times good Other Videos on Prescott Lakes times you’ll see a lot of other videos on our channel that hello hello peeps hello hello and hello hello hello and hello Diane and Randall bro here yes we are uh coming to you live from the beautiful town of Prescott Arizona pick a lady live a mile high of the mountains just getting back from Los Angeles went had a nice little time with our with our kiddos that’s right uh celebrating our daughter’s engagement yes yes good time to Addie and Jake yes cheers we can’t wait for the big day but every time we we go to La we feel compelled to tell our story there’s always something interesting that happens um and this time there’s nothing like driving almost seven hours and you’re tired and you jump in a nice hot tub and you just want to relax and soak and there’s no body wash Airbnb so I’m like well there must be a dreadful mistake surely they it’s got to be under the cabinet It’s gotta be nobody wash anywhere in any of the bathrooms so I reach out to our Airbnb fellow and I say hey any idea where the body wash is oh we don’t have any you can go to the store and buy it yeah you gotta buy your own body wash and then you know will reimburse you okay well not going to help me at midnight don’t want to hop out the tub and go get the body wash anyway I use hand soap that was an interesting experience as well it worked but anyway the point is so when I yeah when I get to the store the next morning I go down the aisle while the the body washes and it’s all behind glass and locked locked case yeah now I’ve seen this in other areas for you know medication allergy medication not body wash so I’m standing there like a fish out of water I’m like how do I obtain this elusive body wash surely there’s a way for me to get this and a fellow Los Angeles Los Angelo and how do you say it I don’t know anyway he says oh you have to press the button and get help for that and I said get help to get body wash yeah I mean what crazy it’s not the bath crystals that I understand is a thing but body wash apparently in Los Angeles it’s a heavily stolen item yeah so uh I did not wait for that I noticed that on the side of it there wasn’t a protection so I just slid my my arm behind it and grabbed where I wanted and left but the point is is that if you come here to Prescott we’re not going to have stuff like that yeah it’s you’re yeah I’ve never seen anything like it everything in this entire grocery store was behind the glass it’s uh kind of a sad way to live your life uh personally is what I think but hey to each his own yeah uh I took matters into my own hands and grabbed my own body wash yeah I hope they don’t apprecially yeah correct although from what I understand if I had left with it I would have been okay with that yeah yeah yeah so that yeah so that yeah our understanding is the reason why they had to do this is if you go into a drugstore wherever and you steal something that’s less than like 950 that’s right uh as long as you’re not orange they’re not gonna prosecute yeah people do it so they put everything behind glass I don’t know if you can go into a restaurant and have a meal for less than 950 and just walk out yeah I don’t know if you can do that but it’s it’s funny because these things kind of build on one another uh last year we were in LA and they had all the blackouts so the blackouts hit right when they were announcing that it was going to be mandatory by I don’t know 2035 or whatever it is that all cars on the road are going to have to be electric cars and I’m thinking okay so you can’t provide electricity for what you have already if we had a bunch of electric cars because they have a lot of electric cars I’m thinking you know what this party needs right now is about 50 000 cars that have run out of juice and random durations during the blackout and people everybody stuck in the roads yeah and what I’ve heard too is uh some people who they are saying you know they they say during blackout time uh please don’t charge your cars up overnight yeah so how do you get to work I don’t know I don’t understand it’s a whole nother conundrum to me I just was fascinated by lockdown body wash yeah so I couldn’t get over that yeah so so first you know with covid you can’t get toilet paper so that means body wash is at a premium yeah the body wash by the way was very exorbitant it was 11.99 yes or a little box little little tiny bottle yeah wow so you got a City full of people who are broiling in the summer they have no electricity can’t put on there uh their AC and then they can’t use body wash so everyone’s gonna stink I mean just you can use body wash you just have to be patient and wait and wait I guess you can’t run in and buy some yeah yeah it’s a process well anyway you you reached the point where if you’re somewhere maybe you’re in La maybe or someplace else maybe you’ve been thinking about maybe moving on there’s a phenomenon called The Boiled frog and I don’t know if this is true but they say if you put a frog in a pan of water and you and you heat him up he won’t jump out if you heat him slowly you’ll be able to boil the Frog will stand because it gets hot slowly and he gets used to it and that’s kind of how you know you’re living in La you’re used to the you know the the black step by step you get used to things and you become accepting and not into everything that continues to happen that nothing shocks you anymore yeah until you have a body wash moment and then it’s kind of like I I can’t believe all right that’s it I kind of that’s the last straw you kind of hit your limit so I think at the Airbnb they don’t provide uh body wash because people take it people take it and it’s costly for them and I get all that you know but not helpful when I wanted to so if you’ve had a body wash moment you know where you’ve kind of where everything’s enough and it’s been getting worse and it’s getting worse when you hit that body wash moment let us know what your body wash moment was what was the last straw it’s like no I really do have to get out I Gotta Get out no matter where you go yeah whether it’s California Washington or again anywhere New Jersey uh yeah the typical States yeah so you got Khalid the exit Estates now I guess are uh California Oregon Washington New Jersey Massachusetts Massachusetts uh Colorado I think is now kind of becoming Exodus so if you come from one of those places what was your last straw we’d like to hear yeah yeah I’m gonna hear we’re here Live Strong and I can assure you here none of the none of these years go at any time anytime any day uh at night or day and grab myself a nice thing of body wash for maybe 5.99 and walk out the store and pay for it and and not have to be waited on people smell better here I think they do they cost so much to have body wash it’s helpful it’s helpful body wash is a good thing yeah so you know people’s thinking that’s uh you gotta get them you got to get people clean that’s the first step towards civilization that’s right absolutely so um you know it’s our way we’re just so fun and having some fun I personally think it’s a little outrageous that I have to get assistance to get body wash off a shelf maybe other people are perfectly fine with that I’m entitled to my opinion that’s right so please don’t shoot the messenger I’m just kind of expressing my little opinion take with it what you want yeah I’ll plug upstairs it sounds like she’s not too well hello hello hello there hello peeps how are my fellow pickle peeps out there today I think they’re doing pretty well well we’re excited to be here spring has sprung spring has sprung here in our beautiful beautiful Town we’re getting tons of people coming in uh this is the time people are traveling in they want to see what we’re all about absolutely here in Prescott but today we’re going to cover some reasons not to come now we’ve actually been asked that you know you guys talked about Prescott and all the wonderful things so if someone doesn’t come to Prescott or decides to leave prescube that’s right why is that why do they what are the negatives what are the negatives so we thought about that because we were kind of hard-pressed we’re like well I don’t know we love it yeah we love it decide not to come so these are the reasons that people have actually we’ve actually experienced these these people you know they they either left or decided not to come for these reasons that’s right so number one is jobs jobs you should know that Prescott is you know honestly predominantly a retirement Town yeah so yeah you’re still working and you want to come to Prescott you should already have a job you should already have a job have your job lined up if you are in the health care profession maybe Insurance maybe Hospitality or a realtor you could find something you could probably find something in your education you know the usual suspects but right in terms of having like giant advertising firms or or big companies here it’s not a headquarter tale it’s not yeah it’s not it’s a nice quiet you’re doing the job search you need a job chances are present right for you you might have better luck out in Prescott Valley yeah yeah but in terms of you know finding a regular job like you would in a larger City might be a little bit more limiting for you yes so you should be aware of that yeah the second thing we get a lot of I’m not sure how people get confused on this yes it’s always fascinating to me but they say I need to be by water yeah well you should know specifically beaches right and beaches yeah so if you’re looking for sand and sun we are a mountain town we’re a mountain town if there were beaches here you’d be building an ark everything would be under the water so we do have some Lakes we do have some water sports so Lake Powell that people go to people drive over to Lake Havasu but we certainly don’t have a seashore that’s no no Seashore here people are like I’d like to live on the water well we have a couple of reservoirs that back up back up so you will never be able to find a house uh on the water um we just don’t there’s Donuts to offer people want streams or Creeks or whatever running through their backyard we can find maybe a handful of those but it’s just not that common so be aware this is a mountain town he’s correct total mountain town we don’t have beaches we don’t have a lot of water front you know properties here we just have beautiful mountains beautiful views beautiful Dells yeah outdoor activity we got other things but no beaches no beaches so sorry about that not a lot of access to water number three do you have altitude uh we are about a mile high we’re about the same altitude as Denver yep and some people have a problem with that yeah it takes a little while to kind of adapt and adjust we did too because we came from kind of below sea levels below sea level so we went up a mile and uh and you you find yourself breathless a lot uh your lungs will expand and and get used to it you will adapt yeah um but some people you know that we had uh some people that we knew who uh they got coveted damaged their lungs they had to move to a lower altitude so if you have lung issues um you know if you have trouble hanging out in a city like Denver for example it’s a mile high you’re going to have trouble here yeah some people get altitude sickness and those kind of areas so keep that in mind particularly if you do have a lot of um uh lung issues because it could be problematic for you now it’s just the altitude our air quality is good on the plus side the air quality is amazing the air quality is very very good but it is one of the top 10 Towns of great air quality in the United States yeah so keep that in mind if you are you know are on an oxygen tank this might be a little bit tougher for you to adapt to but you can you will and you’ll survive yep number four politics the most controversial very controversial all right so if in case you haven’t heard Prescott is kind of a conservative town we are predominantly a red town I say predominantly we’re the majority of people here are red are Republicans that’s right there’s a mixture there’s a mixture there is but for the most part you know press could uh gem really you know they’re more Republicans than Democrats uh and some people have a problem with that now if you are considering moving to let’s say Texas now a lot of people are Texas is a lot more we’ve lived in Texas we’ve lived in Prescott Texas is a lot more conservative than Prescott that is a very conservative brand you know Ultra conservative and and Prescott not that much very tolerant people uh for the most part we’re about Freedom we’re a western town totally you’re from the Constitution yeah the Constitution I believe in constitutional law so but you know if you’re the kind of person you’re going to lose your mind if you see I find that offensive yeah a political sign for a republican candidate in a window and you don’t like yeah that people are going to put up their signs here and uh they’re not ostracized for doing that no uh they can put all about respect yeah whatever political sign you want and it’s not for the most part it’s not going to be destroyed your own’s not going to be vandalized no you’re not going to be ostracized We Believe In free free speech and freedom of opinion I guess that’s right and so people do that if you want to live someplace where dissenting political views are repressed Prescott’s not your place you know we don’t do that everyone’s afraid to have everything yes yeah and I have to say living here so I’m more in the middle I’m not really Ultra liberal I’m not ultra-conservative I’m politically we’re not real political at all actually I don’t really care everybody has the right to their own opinion to each his own uh I just want to have peace but I will say here that most people who might be a little more to the right yeah uh are very tolerant though I mean you know most of our we have friends who are on both sides yeah we do absolutely and we all could have lovely discussions there’s nothing ugly here nothing um intolerant yeah Prescott is not an intolerant at all everybody’s very friendly and they’re like okay you know to each other and I can honestly that’s been my experience and I I haven’t heard from any of my friends that they’ve experienced anything different uh we do fund the police here uh we support the police we support our vets yes we support our firefighters you will see American flags here yes you will see the American flags with the was it black and blue to support the police correct we’ll see those yes uh because there are people that are very vocal about their support for police and we’ve got a lot of we have a lot of veterans and police officers there’s some firefighters who retired a huge support uh in this town for those folks yes and uh also you should know uh this is an open carry cons you know yeah and we had another video that that went over guns and you know shooting and how people like to shoot here uh people like guns here so if you can’t live in a neighborhood where some of your neighbors might have a gun um not your place because a lot of people true that’s true and just as a little aside it you want to live someplace where the the police are not funded or defunded uh you might want to have a gun I don’t know don’t go someplace where you get them either I have to say guns do scare me I you know as long as you’re properly trained uh we have a lot of friends and they are gun owners and responsible gun owners and um it is kind of fun to go shooting at the shooting range and go shoot out outside in the mountains that’s kind of fun and for the most part it is about fun because it is everything it’s very safe here you know so yes yes so the other thing is physical response physical responsibility yeah so again the conservatism thing our local government is very fiscally responsible taxes do not keep going up no surprises no surprises you know and and people want that you know if you’re retiring and you have a limited Nest Egg you want to know you’re going to move someplace that’s going to be fiscally responsible um then your money won’t wear out and your money won’t wear out so run out run out run out yeah your money won’t run out um because of increasing taxes or this this new tax added or that new tax ad it really doesn’t happen here so um I don’t want to hear any negative comments I’m just stating the fact I’m reporting the facts I am neutral I’m on neither side I just live my life work hard and uh try to be a good person yeah I am not firmly entrenched on either side of politics uh I’m just here to serve you and help you find a great house yeah and have a good time while we’re doing it yeah but for some people who really want to know the inside skinny yeah we just want to let you know what you can expect if it’s important to you to live in a community that’s predominantly blue and you don’t want anyone with guns and and all the things that you should know we mentioned then you know this probably isn’t the place for you I don’t want anyone to move and then be horribly disappointed or feel like this isn’t quite a good fit I’m not happy so we try to just educate everybody Frank Right Center okay so I know you may not some people may not like to hear all this but anyway the facts are the facts so there they are and we have known people who’ve decided you know this is this place is too conservative for us and we think we feel and I respect that you know everybody has to be happy where they land yeah you always have the freedom of voting with your feet we talk about voting with your feet before that’s right um but you know obviously it would be better to avoid having to do that we don’t want you to come here and decide nah these aren’t my my folks as I said we are friends with people from all walks of life yeah people from both sides on on either side part of the fence on party wise um and you know what we all have a great time we’re all tolerant we support each other and it’s uh some good friends out there so don’t let that necessarily deter you just come out and try it out and see what you think absolutely all right so that’s our little tips for the day for the day today some maybe possibly negative things about it yeah it’s kind of hard for us yeah negative things it was hard positive things we’ve had the questions so we thought we needed to uh to field it these are things we get in the car all the time when we’re out on our tour s bonjour hello peeps hello hello and hello Diane and Randall bro here she’s the pickle Eddie I’m her sidekick that is correct Prescott Arizona yes and we are excited to be here to talk about something we don’t miss at all yeah we don’t miss it all coming from the Deep South that’s right and now we’ve landed in this beautiful little mountain town it’s 5300 square feet up in the air yeah we love it and it is the lack of mosquitoes mosquitoes I mean we grew up with them it was our state bird where we where we rate where we were raised yeah in Louisiana and Then followed us to Texas yeah uh when you come here very few mosquitoes now you may be living in a place where that doesn’t matter you know they love it some of our exited States California uh Oregon Washington Colorado um you know you may live in a place where there’s not a whole lot of mosquitoes and so you take that for granted right and you decide that you want to move and you’re going to go to uh one of the popular destinations like Texas or Florida yep uh South Carolina is getting popular um you need to introduce yourself to mosquitoes if you’re thinking about going to a place like that you need to go there during the summer and take a walk at night before you make up your mind because sit without spraying yourself with off yes you need to fully Embrace that try it out yeah see if that’s a problem for you if you think you’re going to be sitting out by on the PA on the patio enjoying yourself by your pool and maybe not a couple things you should know first of all if you’re going camp which I’m not a camper but I used to take my our girls uh camping when they were little through the YMCA and we’d go camping and you would just douse your child yes with insecticide so they wouldn’t be eaten alive there was no other way to do it you had to do it had to do it uh so you’ll be doing that and the other thing is mosquito trucks so at night in places like Texas and South Carolina and Louisiana there are these trucks that spew insecticide into the air yep and they drive up and down uh residential streets doing that to kill mosquitoes mosquitoes are a big deal and if you have an interesting process to watch it yeah it’s hard to overestimate the the challenge of mosquitoes yeah but you don’t have to you will not experience that here in Prescott Valley yeah you will know mosquitoes are not a thing yes uh the temperature is cool enough I mean unless we have a ton of a ton of rain and a lot of standing water which you know is not doesn’t happen it doesn’t have too much here you get down very rarely yeah you know you might get a few I have noticed too that when there are when you do have a mosquito uh from time to time generally you can kill them with one finger you know you just go Boop and they tie they’re like really dumb or really tired they do seem to be way more aggressive in the South they still want to keep on yeah you sweat your leg and it’s like a cloud around you and they land right back on you yeah they’re survivors down the South they know how to avoid yeah down here they’re not so up here I should say they’re not so smart so that was one of the things we that Delight us about the really the State of Arizona yes and very few bugs and not a lot of roaches that’s another thing huge in Louisiana and Texas roaches are your second pet yeah don’t save too much here yeah and they thought about it yeah they’re they’re also nothing almost like bird-like yeah don’t talk about it I forgot about that yeah you go back and it’s like oh my God so that’s very pleasant yeah um also so people will ask us too do you have a lot of um scorpions uh and that’s how much here in Prescott will I see an occasional one yeah you will see sometimes tarantulas but mostly they love to get out on the asphalt on the roads do I see them in my house no we’ve seen that in again in six years I’ve seen maybe four yeah five on the road on the road never in the house so anyway so I would trade that for mosquitoes any day oh yeah me too absolutely they don’t care they just they don’t want to bother you just leave them alone so if you’re looking for a relatively bug-free annoying bugs like you know mosquitoes and and all of that good stuff Prescott is the place for you roaches good place not really so it’s uh very nice good place yeah good place to be relatively pest free and if you think about some other destinations if it’s yeah in the South termites just will just form overnight it doesn’t matter uh I’m not doing California I’m not sure about Colorado I know in California and maybe Oregon too the uh termites are big termites are made in Louisiana they’re huge if Lumber touches the ground at vaporize that’s it within seconds yes so my mother-in-law actually had a termite contract the house was fully all every year fully treated for termites we were there visiting and here come the termites right through the right through the frame of the door yeah so even though they’re treated still there so uh termites are not real big here either you should know that so unless you actually invite them and make it like a nice Airbnb for them yes or wood in standing water leaning on your house for long periods of time then you may get them yeah but other than that really not we do not have a termite contract on our house don’t need it don’t need it in the South everybody California gotta have to turn my contract so a little bit of savings there for you all right my friends well that’s our tip on pest mosquitoes especially and all the other Critters that uh the bane of hello hello hello hello peeps he’s the Easter Bunny I’m doing rabbit ears rabbit ears Rattle and Diane bro here um happy to chat with you from the beautiful Prescott Lakes yeah city of Prescott’s pickle lady I’m her sidekick that’s right we are your local Realtors happy to find you your next dream home yeah and help you start your next chapter talking to you about Easter after Easter’s already done Easter’s not done yet where we are we we’re we’re coming at you from the past that’s right we’re recording but when you see this Easter will be done Easter will be done uh but we thought we’d talk about Eastern nonetheless it’s a beautiful time of year here first of all spring will have sprung and all the trees will be flowering and it’s like a true spring here which I’ve never experienced I love it um yeah where we’re from it goes from you know it goes from winter like right into the heat of the summer that’s right but here uh we we enjoy a nice fall and a nice spring spring is beautiful absolutely cool it’s uh we’re kind of getting into that now yeah it is the beginning of March and uh we just got finished with uh with some winter weather and it looks like for a while we’re going to be hitting uh close the 60s during the day beautiful beach yeah I already see some of the trees if you look closely starting to butt out so we’re very excited um but one thing we’re really excited about is all the amazing Easter buffets they have here in this town yes we love a good uh brunch I’m all about brunch and buffets in general yeah and I really I love buffets like being able to go and getting a little bit of everything absolutely you really are a lot of a lot of everything I would say a little you say a lot you get a lot of everything so this town has brunches up the Wazoo yes but in has a beautiful Easter brunch Murphy’s steakhouse has a good brunch uh all of the country clubs have an amazing brunch yes um our favorite we go to Prescott Lakes Country Club yes it’s the best of the best um they have an amazing Kelly comes out and she’s got an and Christine with amazing uh bloody mary cards oh yeah and they go from table to table and make these spectacular Bloody Mary’s um mimosas food carving stations yes omelette I mean it goes on yeah so every now and then they’ll do an exotic the Exotic this year is going to be lamb their big carving foreign [Music] Capital Canyon I’m sure we’ll do the same that’s another nice country club yeah um we’ve gone to their brunch good stuff yeah um oh yeah no it just it just goes on and on yeah it’s really really nice so if you are planning to be here visiting or if you’ve just moved here check out any of those places you will love it and get in there and have a great great Easter brunch yes Mother’s Day too it’s a popular Mother’s Day yeah Buffet Town brunch big brunch absolutely so we highly recommend it it’s lovely get a table with a bunch of friends and we just have a great time absolutely it’s another time to socialize and uh with good friends it makes you want to be happy happy have a happy Easter yeah there it is that’s what it’s all about okay thanks for listening and we hope to see you at one of these great places absolutely we’ll say hello or we’ll say hello hello hello whatever we’ll say it three times yeah we’ll share a blame there with you that’s right eat some money that’s right have a happy happy Easter and brunch cheers bye

Water Worries

Worried about water issues in Arizona?  Well, in this episode we discuss the communities that are having trouble and what that might mean for the city of Prescott.

that’s right okay he’s talking about javelinas yet again we do have some nice javelinas our regulars will remember the skunk pig that’s right yeah that’s right so we are here to talk about something that keeps popping up quite a bit lately yeah and we thought it was very important to bring up and discuss and address and that is the issue of water water uh is there going to be water shortages here in Prescott yes the short answer is no no no people come up here oh yeah I heard Prescott’s Running Out of Water absolutely yes we’re not running out of water I just I I don’t know where it comes from I know a lot of people have in other areas of Arizona make presumptions or assumptions whatever you want to talk about however you want to call it about Prescott they don’t live here they don’t really fully understand um it is not an issue here yeah um there are some towns in Prescott mostly down in the valley that are experiencing water shortages and issues kind of on the west side I think Buckeyes 101 yeah Buckeyes one of them correct so it is my tenuous understanding of their situation not our situation yeah so these communities were built and they did not provide for water at least one of them was taking uh now the I guess it’s the Ohio some Colorado River some river is being uh reallocated so uh Scottsdale cut them off yeah Scottsdale was kind enough to kind of share for a while and now times have changed so they’re worried it’s been getting a lot of press because uh these towns are pulling from aquifers I guess and if they pull too fast they will lose flow and lose their water supply so this is a big deal the only thing that would make it worse is if it were in any way our problem here in Prescott it is not uh so I don’t know how they’re going to solve their problem but we do not it is unfortunate it does happen as things develop and people spread out I understand um but here in Prescott we have to have a hundred year plan so any major development that comes in has to prove they have access to water in the aquifers for at least 100 years yeah yeah and that’s not pulling from the awkward yeah they have to come up with some other source most of the town is pulling from an aquifer so snow falls further north than us where all the mountains are like Flagstaff and all that and that water flows downhill we are about a quarter mile lower than Flagstaff so we we get flow at this point in time we are pulling from the aquifer all new construction we’ll have to have a 100 year plan that’s outside of the aquifer uh we are degrading our um our aquifer at point two percent a year 0.02 it’s a very small amount which means that the aquifer will dry up in about 450 years right they’re already on it and they’re already trying to address it to bring us to even so we’re not depleting anymore so uh we are managing it well we don’t have a problem and no one anticipates a problem over a very long time and we’re already intervening so yeah we’re wet we’re pretty Progressive we’re uh look ahead we plan ahead um so if you come to Prescott don’t have any fears about water restrictions or water shortages or running out of water the other thing to consider is we are pretty much a rock city we don’t have a lot of Lawns we don’t have any agriculture here where we’re watering lots of crops and tomatoes or almonds or whatever we don’t have any of that so there isn’t a lot of draw on the water everyone is pretty much very escaped here your front yard is Rock uh low you know plants that take low watering strip system I lived in Texas Force 17 years I had more water restrictions in Texas all the time I have water restrictions no running water between this time and this time I have yet to receive anything like that here like any notification to please you know not use as much water between five and not anything like that so um when you’re coming here I know it’s a big concern for a lot of people and it should be rightfully so but here in Prescott it is not an issue we are really working hard on keeping this to be a non-issue yeah yeah so so responsibly managed yes and uh yeah we don’t have a sprinkler system we have drip systems yeah and it literally drips yeah so you don’t have that yeah we don’t have any of that and this spraying water we just have little slow drips this little Chinese water yes that’s it so uh the people who are coming in they’re not they’re not really demanding a whole lot of water we do take showers we do drink water yes bathroom yeah that’s about it and there are golf courses but you know there are golf courses not enough since yeah so keep that in mind um if that is one of your concerns we just wanted to allay your fears that um really not water here is not a big issue and it’s not going to be an issue for the foreseeable future as well so I know there is some talk in other towns but keep in mind that’s in the valley yeah that’s down in the Phoenix area more the desert heavy desert oh they do have some places outside of Prescott um uh in Dewey Humboldt the Dewey Humboldt area the paulden area where there was uh mining where some of the water has been contaminated that’s not anywhere close to us correct us right so not not to worry here aquifer we don’t know no no no it’s all good it’s all good water is our tip for the day so if you’re getting the tips the place to go is you’ll understand why we said it that way in a minute you won’t understand why my Irish accent is so but true true that was my best attempt whisper it’s pretty good yeah worse yes but we’re excited to be here this is Diana Randall bro coming to you live from Prescott Arizona not record it depending on your well well it’s live right now it is recorded it’s not recorded from another important yeah yeah so we’ve got uh St Patrick’s Day coming up yep uh by the time you see this St Patrick’s Day will be over but as we’re recording it is actually before St Patrick’s Day so we thought we’d talk a little bit about St Patrick’s Day what goes on uh in town here and just our thoughts about it I would be in green however we shoot this shoot the front of a green screen that’s right so I would just appear that’s right so I can’t be in true Irish Spirits yeah the whole room is green you’re not seeing it because you know you can’t see it let’s imagine we have other stuff behind us St Patrick’s Day here is a great holiday um it’s celebrated we all have a wonderful time uh uh Murphy’s steakhouse has a huge event yeah and uh and the pub there’s an Irish Pub right on Sheldon yeah well it’s an Irish Irish pub and they go crazy for St Patrick’s Day huge huge all kinds of good food you know cabbage corned beef all the beer drink it goes on and on and on [Music] Irish Fair we’re going to uh St Patrick’s Day over at Prescott Lakes Country Club Yep they’re having a little uh Irish Buffet a little Irish music exactly we uh we got a table of ten yeah and so we’re all going to drink our green beer have a nice time so it’s a big town here to celebrate St Patrick’s yeah it’s a very social Town very social town I was looking for something to have fun yeah St Patrick’s Day is one of those holidays there’s no obligations you have to buy gifts and no it’s just about having fun camaraderie and what I love about it too uh at least where we’re from in New Orleans and here in Prescott want to say it may not be that way in other areas of the country other areas of the world but uh where we’re from on St Patrick’s Day everyone is Irish everyone everyone so everyone gets to participate and you are welcome and you’re welcome no matter what you are you’re welcome to come here so I’ve got I’ve got no Irish enemy but you’re what how much Irish yeah her dad’s family they’re a bunch of Boston it was a big Irish potato for sure yeah so yeah we’re all here so but it doesn’t matter you can still represent and celebrate that Irish Spirit yeah and our town does it well yeah and we have a good time yeah I do see more than my fair share of corned beef and cabbage yes and it is deadly later but yeah yeah it’s okay you gotta you gotta Embrace Life so to speak sometimes it flattens you out but there it is there it is oops there it is yeah so if you’re looking for a good place to spend St Patrick’s Day although you’ve already missed it uh you can look forward to it next year and all the other holidays that uh or just times to have fun move on into press get in Embrace uh what we offer for you on St Patrick’s Day you can wear green yeah you don’t have to worry about the green screen because you will be live and in the action that’s right and you’ll have fun that’s right so anyway we welcome you and I can’t wait to celebrate St Patrick’s next year with you yeah we’ll have a green beer with you in front of the green screen come join us ladies cheers

hello hello hello peeps welcome back to another version of the wind down that’s good pickle ladies one day yeah coming back at you here Diane and Randall bro here in Prescott happy to talk to you about our favorite thing puppy dog the dogs this is called doggie Redux that’s right we’re gonna talk about it again that’s right because we just love dogs yeah we’ve had a number of episodes in the past about dogs at dog park and bringing your dog to different places around town uh but uh you know dogs keep coming back so dogs keep coming back they’re uh in our hearts um you know you’ll see a lot of them and sadly back in November we lost one of our favorite pups and it was very traumatic terrible experience I did very unexpected totally young yeah totally unexpected so instead uh to recover from all that what did we do we went and adopted two two dogs two dogs sisters who look exactly like her and another dog we had that’s right prior to that so now we’ve got two dogs that duplicated the original two we had and we just named them the same thing you might hear from them in a second they may bark or wine which one of them is doing right now he wants to be part of the part of the recording but we wanted to stress again if you are a dog lover Prescott is the place Prescott’s a great place for it everybody loves their dogs here it’s a great way to meet people especially right yeah the dog parks yeah so when when dog uh when Frankie uh passed yeah you know Diane would take the dog out walking all the time and it’s amazing how quickly people started asking I haven’t seen you out with Frankie I know we had quite a little community in the early morning the early morning Walkers yeah um and after she passed I had people I hadn’t even met before but apparently they would have their morning coffee and watch me and Frankie walk by and they’re like oh we missed that beautiful black dog I said oh I’m so yeah it was sad but so interesting yeah we’re still training the new dogs and we’re trying to car train them as well Frankie uh was a big fan of car rides so at least once a day more like twice a day she would jump in the back of my car and I’d roll the windows windows down four and we’d go through town or whatever and people got used to seeing the big black dog that held the window and you’re gonna see a lot of those cars too A lot of people drive by with their dogs lots of dogs out uh it’s just a really uh warm and welcoming community Unity for pups especially restaurants love them restaurants welcome them people walk around the square people go to the parks and bring their chairs and meet other people so it is a great way if you’re new here to meet new people who also love dogs as well but it’s just good to have a dog it’s just good to have too it’s absolutely Although our hounds of hell I don’t know right now they’re trying my patience yeah they’re they’re puppies and we’re training them so uh they haven’t been to the dog park yet they just got their shots yeah uh they’re not crazy about car rides but they’re getting bigger I think probably within the next couple of months you’ll see me driving around with two dogs two dogs and they go get their pup cups and their whipped cream and they love it yeah so life is good life is good so if you have pups life is good is even better here in Prescott if you have pups you’ll love it and uh you’ll see how welcoming our town is to puppies I put some links in the bottom of this episode that will take you to other videos about dogs in the dog park and all that for your reference that’s right uh just another tip if you’re coming to Prescott you’re into dogs you’re in the right place you got it uh if you’re into tips the place to go is pickle411.com that is our free information site whether you are a buyer seller somewhere in between there is information waiting for you that will Astound amaze and entertain you to no end we try to deliver people we really try to deliver absolutely all right so that’s our tip for the day we’ll show you maybe some footage of our new pups yeah absolutely they’re so cute yeah I’ll interspace them some dog footage in you’ll see you’ll see what we’re what we’re dealing with that’s right okay so we welcome you and your pups that’s right come on into uh Prescott another tip too is sometimes you have people who bring their doggies they’re welcome to come on the house hunt with you oh that’s right yeah that’s right come on in our van yeah we we make room for your pup and uh they’re welcome to join in the house hunt as well that’s right so anyway just want to throw that out too because we welcome your animals yeah we welcome your problem yeah all right have a great day and we hope to hear from you soon bye cheers
