Hey, I’m Diane, the Prescott pickle lady, and I’m Randal, her trusty sidekick. We make videos to help people who are thinking about relocating to Prescat understand what it’s really like to live here. And if you’re considering moving to Prescat, Arizona, and wondering what life actually looks like day-to-day, this video is for you. We’re going to walk through the real lifestyle here so you can decide if it’s a good fit for you. Yeah. Right. Yeah. Has it been a good fit for us? Yeah, pretty much. So far so good. So, yeah. Yeah. We’ve been here almost 10 years. It’s working out. Yeah. We’ll cover everything from outdoor activities and sports to music, hobbies, and the kinds of trips people take from Prescuit so you can get a full picture of what people actually do here. Make sure to stick around to the end because we’ll show you how Prescuit stays interesting long after the novelty has worn off. Very true. So, one of the most important things about here living here is the great outdoors. Yeah. If you’re into the great outdoors, press gets your you’ve landed in a good spot. Yeah. Um if you are a big hiker, if you’re a big biker, if you love jeeping. Yeah. Uh and I mean jeeping like up into the rocks and uh Yeah. All that stuff. Yeah. And we got all the shops. Yeah. We got all the shops to support that kind of thing. Ebikes are really big here. Ebikes are really big. We do have some terrain. So, you know, if you need a little a little little boost, you know, the ebikes are really good for that. And even some of the hiking is easy hiking. So if you want to go for a long walk, um it’s all here people. Every five minutes there’s a tr a trail every five minutes in Prescat, including like where we live in Prescat Lakes. Yeah, absolutely. They have a lot of hiking there. Um there’s also some boating. So yeah, there’s boating now. Yeah. Not with the the big engines. Most people with the big boats, they go to Lake Powell or Lake Havasu. uh you know, Watson Lake and the reservoirs like that. You know, you could do kayaking and stuff. There’s a lot of kayaking. There’s a lot of canoeing um and paddle boarding. So, you can get up there early in the morning on the weekend, right in the middle of the Dells, paddle board, and then come home by 10 and have a great rest of your day. Yeah. So, it’s a very active, great outdoors place to live. And there’s even fishing like at Lynx Lake. Yeah. Absolutely. and Gold Water. So, yeah, we kind of have it all people and amazing weather. Absolutely. To enjoy it all in. So, that’s great if you love the outdoors, but what if you want something a little more structured and social? Let’s talk about staying active in town. Being active in town is easy. Whoa, my voice is changing. Being active in town is easy. Uh, and all kinds of sports. So there’s golf and tennis, the things that you would kind of expect. Pickle ball is really big. Uh people are getting injured playing pickle ball. So now botchi is getting big. Yep. At prescuit lakes we got botchi courts that have just been built. Yeah. But you know, pingpong softball. Yeah. And skiing in Flagstaff. Yeah. You can go up to you can go up to Flagstaff and and ski if you’re up for that. Uh softball, they do have uh senior leagues. Yes. Uh so if you’re into softball, pingpong is really big. Uh surprisingly big uh and people are really having a lot of fun with that. So there’s a lot of sports and there’s a great indoor uh center called Eastbire here that you can do all kinds of stuff if it’s cold or whatever inside or if it’s too hot for you. They have pickle ball inside, basketball, you name it. Now if you’re into working out, weights and machines, that’s easy. Yeah. You know, a lot of the different communities will have uh wake out wake out workout areas. They also have a number of clubs that you can join, exercise classes, yoga, pilates is really pilates. Yeah. Club Pilates. Shout out to you. Yeah. Swimming. Waterobics. Yeah. Yeah. So, the water aerobics is kind of the the lesser man’s uh swimming, I guess. Becoming really really popular. Very hurt hard to hurt yourself. Yep. doing uh water aerobics. And then there’s walking. Just plain old walking. Just plain old walking with and without dogs. Yeah. Lots of nice paths that you can enjoy. So, if you have a dog, you’re going to go out, you’re going to meet other people walking their dogs. But if you don’t have a dog, you don’t need one. Just go out and walk. It’s beautiful out there. If you want to be active, this is the town for you. Excellent weather and lots of things to choose from. So, you won’t be sitting around, but what about night life, music, fun? Let’s shift gears a little bit. The music scene is big here. Enormous. Yeah. So, we have concerts. We have like real concerts. There’s a a a sports arena in PV where you know the big guys come. We’ll have Last I remember was Chicago and stuff like that. Frankie Valley. Yeah. Frankie Valley. So, I think Ringo Stars coming. Ringo Star is coming. Yeah. So, big names like that. You’ve got concerts, but we mostly do tribute bands, right? Cover bands, and maybe they might have one original member, but it’s always good. They’re always on par. You think you’re watching the originals. Yeah. Uh there’s lots of jazz nights, which we belong to. We have season tickets, and it’s now both of those are primarily at the Elks Theater, historic theater, which is just gorgeous. Uh it’s it’s fun to go just to be in charming. Really, really nice. Very old. There’s a lot of honky tons. Lots lot of honky tons. Lot of local little bands that play in there. They even have karaoke at some of these places and some of the speak easy. They have Phoenix Road Trips. You can get in your car and drive down there. Yeah. So, down in Phoenix, you’ve got you’re going to get the big big You got the big big guys. They just had Bruno Mars. Yeah. Bruno Mars, you know, people like that. I’m not sure who that is, but uh I’ll take lots of good lots of good musicians. So, you can always drive down there if you really want to see a big big show. Yeah, they’ll be down there. But you know that the music is just big here. They got a lot of small bands. If you want to create a band or just join a band, they’ll have musicians that are worthwhile doing that with. Absolutely. So, not everyone wants to be out every night. So, what about hobbies and staying busy at home? Lots of crafts and hobbies. Yes, lots. I have a very dear friend and she belongs to the weavers guild. Weavers. Weavers. She weaves. She has her own loom. So, there’s knitting, sewing, quilting, blankets. Um, big big for that here in this town. We also have a friend who weaves. Like where she walks, she weaves. But that’s not that kind of weaving. Not that kind of weaving. Yeah. Not that kind of weaving. Real weaving. Um there’s also a lot of people who play games. Maong, cribage, Mexican train, bridge, poker, all that. We have a friend who plays Scrabble every Tuesday with a bunch of ladies. She goes and they play that. So if you’re into games, a lot of games. Some more exotic stuff. Classic cars are really big here. Very big. Yeah. You’ll see them in the square. People bring their cars out. It’s just gorgeous. It’s gorgeous. They want to restore it and that’s their hobby and they Yeah. They’ll do Corvettes one weekend. The MG was a big one that I really like. They’ll have antique cars. Cars are really big here storing cars. Flying is big here. We have a lot of retired pilots because we have a small regional airport here. So, a lot of them have their own planes and they, you know, park it out there and fly to Sedona, whatever. Wherever they want to go. Or you can be like us. Just eat, drink, and entertain. That’s all we do. That’s all we do. That’s all you really kind of have to do. Really. It’s fun. That’s a lot of fun. Well, day trips and vacations, lots of places to go. U Arizona is uh kind of obvious places to go would be Phoenix. We’re down in Phoenix quite a bit. City has a lot to offer. There’s Sedona. Yep. Yeah. Flag Staff. Yeah, Flagstaff. Sedona. One day trips. Nice drive down. Have fun. Go have a nice restaurant. Go shopping in Scottsdale. Sedona has all the hiking and other things. Yeah. You know, pink jeep tours. It goes on and on and on. All that you can do in one day. Yeah. And then we got some small towns here that you probably haven’t heard of. Jerome’s a lot of fun. Old mining town. We go head up there and catch uh burgers at uh Haunted Hamburg. That’s right. 45minut drive. Cottonwood has a lot of wineries. Yeah. A lot of wineries. People go to the vineyards. Yeah. And nice restaurants. Uh A little further a field there’s Tombstone, you know, the Okay Corral and all that stuff. That’s a lot of fun. And Bisby. Bisby. We’ve been We had a lot of fun going there and we went on the mining tour. Yeah. It’s old mining town. Really, really charming. But if you want to get out of state, uh, Las Vegas, 4 hours away. Palm Springs, 4 hours away. San Diego, I think, six or seven hours away. LA, LA, about seven hours away. depending on traffic. Most of that’s going to be in LA itself, but we’ll get you to the outskirts of Los Angeles in about six hours. Yeah, we’re we’re centrally located, so you can get to all these places and have a nice drive down there. And uh it’s a pretty easy trips. Yeah. And if you want to go further a field still, we have airports. Obviously, there’s Sky Harbor down in Phoenix, uh international airport, get you pretty much anywhere. And we also have a really nice regional airport here. It flies every day to LA and Denver on a United Jet 50seater. So if you can work out starting in Prescat as part of your travel plans, do that and catch a connecting flight. It is great. If you have to go to Sky Harbor, we have limos and we also have you can drive yourself, but we also have a a shuttle. Yeah, a little shuttle. So ways to get down there if you need to take uh a flight out of there. So, okay, that’s our take on what’s to do here. If that’s not enough to keep you busy, I don’t know. I think you might need to go talk to your doctor or something. We can’t make it any better than this folks. And the good thing is it’s all safe and good weather. Absolutely. Safe, safe, safe.
